Description of the New Smyrna Beach vacation home rental
Exceptionally well-maintained 3 bedroom (2 master bedrooms), 3 bath (1584 sq ft split bedroom plan) home located 2000 feet from the beach in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. We fell in love with this home when we first saw it, and all our family and friends who have seen it have the same reaction, “This is a really nice house”. A short walk from the beach, Publix (grocery store), a drugstore, and several restaurants, our home is located in a friendly beach neighborhood. It has updated kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, heat/central air, water heater, bath fixtures and paint. All the furniture is new or recently restored. All mattresses are new and very comfortable. There is one 42-in TV, a BluRay DVD player (with streaming media capability), a 2.1 soundbar (with Bluetooth streaming capability), free NetFlix instant movies, and wireless internet access. Dine inside at the solid wood table with seating up to 8 or outside at the aluminum patio table with cushioned seating for 6. The two car garage has a dartboard and large workbench.

Activities you might enjoy include sitting on the patio and listening to the ocean, walking out your door and down the street for a stroll on the beach, kayaking or fishing in the river or world famous Mosquito Lagoon, running on the beach or nearby paths, and biking or walking to Flagler Ave for shopping and dining. Also close is Canaveral National Seashore which is a treasure and a must see for those who love pristine unpopulated Florida Atlantic shoreline. Birding and water sports of all kinds are popular activities in this area. Rent a Harley from the local dealer and ride up or down the coast along A1A. Rent a surfboard or paddleboard and learn a new sport. Sit on the beach in our comfy chairs and watch dolphins cruise by in search of fish.

Sorry, no pets and 1 month is our minimum rental period.

Area Information
If you have never been to New Smyrna Beach, you are in for a treat. This town is unique in so many ways and truly has something for everyone. Friendly, eclectic, and LAID BACK, this is Florida at its best in our opinion. Dining options are numerous, very good, and fit all budgets. There are many entertainment options with the playhouse and one of several small local music venues within walking distance from the home. This town loves festivals and markets, and you can usually find both every weekend. Restaurants and bars on Flagler are always full of life, and there are many good local musicians to discover. Dress up or down, it really doesn’t matter because everyone is here to relax and enjoy themselves. A short drive will take you to other busier Florida attractions such as the theme parks of Orlando, historical St. Augustine, the speedway and famous haunts of Daytona, and the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. When you have had your fill, come back to your quiet retreat in New Smyrna Beach.

Here is what others say:

Just an hour’s drive from Orlando, New Smyrna Beach offers a lovely drive-on Atlantic coast beach – much like that of Daytona Beach, but quieter and with a feeling of an historic hometown. New Smyrna Beach has loads of little shops and cafes, and a thriving arts community, and its beaches are wide and flat with golden-hued sands. Its Apollo Beach is part of the extensive Canaveral National Seashore that continues to the south, all-natural and minimally developed. Also, don’t miss the historic New Smyrna Beach Sugar Mill Ruins. Oh, did we mention that New Smyrna Beach has been named to National Geographic’s list of the World's 20 Best Surf Towns? (VisitFlorida)

The long, dune-lined beach of this small town abuts the Canaveral National Seashore. Behind the dunes sit beach houses, small motels, and an occasional high-rise (except at the extreme northern tip, where none is higher than seven stories). Canal Street, on the mainland, and Flagler Avenue, with many beachside shops and restaurants, have both been "streetscaped" with wide brick sidewalks and stately palm trees. The town is also known for its internationally recognized artists' workshop and some of the best surfing on the East Coast. (Fodor’s)

Nice, Quiet Home 1 block from the beach

April 13, 2015

I recently stayed in this beautiful home for nearly 2 months while recovering from back surgery. I spent most of January and all of February 2015 living in this home. I normally live in Iowa and my therapy for recovery from the surgery was walking. It is very difficult to walk outside when the snow is deep and the temperatures are below zero. The home sits 1 block from the beach and in a very convenient yet quiet neighborhood. It has basically 2 master bedrooms with king beds and a 3rd bedroom with 2 single beds. The home has been updated and is very clean and well kept. The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with. The back yard is fenced which allowed my grand kids to run free while visiting me. There are plenty of restaurants very close and the Publix grocery store is only a couple blocks away. A paved walking path is directly across the street. You can walk or ride bicycles for several miles on this path. I have stayed in numerous properties in different locations found on VRBO. Overall I rated this property 4 out of 5. The only draw back I found was there is only 1 television in the living room. Neither master bedroom had a television. If I was on a vacation this would not have been a major concern. Because I was recovering from back surgery and spent a lot of down time in the home a television in the bedroom(s) would have been nice. This being said, If I decided to stay in New Smyrna Beach again I would certainly stay in this home again.
