Here is what others say:
Just an hour’s drive from Orlando, New Smyrna Beach offers a lovely drive-on Atlantic coast beach – much like that of Daytona Beach, but quieter and with a feeling of an historic hometown. New Smyrna Beach has loads of little shops and cafes, and a thriving arts community, and its beaches are wide and flat with golden-hued sands. Its Apollo Beach is part of the extensive Canaveral National Seashore that continues to the south, all-natural and minimally developed. Also, don’t miss the historic New Smyrna Beach Sugar Mill Ruins. Oh, did we mention that New Smyrna Beach has been named to National Geographic’s list of the World's 20 Best Surf Towns? (VisitFlorida)
The long, dune-lined beach of this small town abuts the Canaveral National Seashore. Behind the dunes sit beach houses, small motels, and an occasional high-rise (except at the extreme northern tip, where none is higher than seven stories). Canal Street, on the mainland, and Flagler Avenue, with many beachside shops and restaurants, have both been "streetscaped" with wide brick sidewalks and stately palm trees. The town is also known for its internationally recognized artists' workshop and some of the best surfing on the East Coast. (Fodor’s)

Nice, Quiet Home 1 block from the beach
April 13, 2015
I recently stayed in this beautiful home for nearly 2 months while recovering from back surgery. I spent most of January and all of February 2015 living in this home. I normally live in Iowa and my therapy for recovery from the surgery was walking. It is very difficult to walk outside when the snow is deep and the temperatures are below zero. The home sits 1 block from the beach and in a very convenient yet quiet neighborhood. It has basically 2 master bedrooms with king beds and a 3rd bedroom with 2 single beds. The home has been updated and is very clean and well kept. The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with. The back yard is fenced which allowed my grand kids to run free while visiting me. There are plenty of restaurants very close and the Publix grocery store is only a couple blocks away. A paved walking path is directly across the street. You can walk or ride bicycles for several miles on this path. I have stayed in numerous properties in different locations found on VRBO. Overall I rated this property 4 out of 5. The only draw back I found was there is only 1 television in the living room. Neither master bedroom had a television. If I was on a vacation this would not have been a major concern. Because I was recovering from back surgery and spent a lot of down time in the home a television in the bedroom(s) would have been nice. This being said, If I decided to stay in New Smyrna Beach again I would certainly stay in this home again.
