Just recently found out about these rooms along the beautiful Oregon coast. Owner and helpers gave us an extra special 70th birthday surprise stay for my husband and myself, When the tea shop on first floor closes in evening the guest floor completely private .It felt like going up the stairs to an English guest house experience, from the beautiful antiques, inviting "parlor"with "library on the third floor complete with moving ladder ! Our room was cozy and inviting, even had a full size bath hidden away behind a bookcase type door. The bed was comfortable and enjoyed looking down on the quaint shops below and the visitors walking in a dog friendly environment both during and after the small shops closed for the night. In close walking distance to shops and restraunts, even an Irish Pub :)Had a wonderful lunch next door at an award winning clam chowder eatery, made the old fashioned way with creDirectly am and a dallop of butter with chowder crackers or a slice of garlic bread.Directly across the street is a coffee shop for early morning risers ,then a walk down the block to the ocean.Fun time looking for shells and during certain time of year glass floats are put outwhere they will wash back in for beachcombers to find :)We come up both in summer AND winter, each season has its own magical touch. We definitely recommend this Tea shop rooms ,I believe there are only 3 rooms over the store but they also own a house for larger groups nearby as well. The price was great being so close to ocean.
Owner's reply: Hi Karen, I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to your return. Thank you and see you soon. Lucinda
“Super Cute Super Comfy!”
We booked this room for an Anniversary weekend on the beach. Lucinda was very accommodating and got us in on a short notice! She was going to have someone meet us, to let us in but decided to do it herself. We were also traveling with a service dog and a pet. We didn't' have to pay any pet fee or deposit for our stay. We got the room with a comfy King size bed. The common room has a buffet table with tea and coffee, microwave and small refrigerator. It was close to Nye beach access and we within walking distance to place for our meals. Highly recommend Stacie's Caf? for breakfast! Next time we stay we will take the room that accommodates 3 people as we will have our daughter with us!
Owner's reply: I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay and Happy Anniversary, hope to see you both again soon. Lucinda
“Cute place to stay”
It was a little difficult to get a hold of the manager to secure the reservation. But once I did, they were very helpful. Overall I really enjoyed my stay. The place comfortable and beautifully decorated with antiques and wonderful pictures. The bathroom in my room was hidden behind a secret shelf in the wall. I loved it. The bar next door was not overly loud. I just put the fan on and I couldn't hear anything. I spent several evenings curled up in the living room reading a book and did yoga out in the sunroom each morning. I will definitely stay here again. And the coffee shop right across the street was definitely a nice bonus. Everything right on hand and just a half of a block walk straight down to the beach. Wonderful.
Owner's reply: Thank you and we hope to see you again soon.
“World Oceans Day”
Hello, we were in town for World Oceans Day. We did speak with someone by email about the Donations request. We were unable to speak by phone. We are seeking a Newport Location that would like to Sponsor our Research on Nye Creek. Ocean Blue Project
The house was amazing. We had 3 families, 3 floors. The house was walking distance to the ocean, and a lot of amazing restaurants. There is also a park right across the street from the house. The house is on a non busy street which was great. Thank you so much. I highly recommend.
“Lovely, relaxing, tranquil”
This is situated in an ideal location. It is close walking distance to the beach. You will have a wonderful time if you stay in this lovely, relaxing, and tranquil place. Newport is one of the nicest cities on the Oregon coast.
Owner's reply: Thank you for choosing us and hope to see you Again soon.
“Great Location in Nye Beach”
Clair was the perfect hostess. She greeted us at the door and showed us around. Explaining where everything was and how it all worked. It was nice to have a plate of cookies, in the room and wine in the fridge. The covered sun deck was nice, and the sitting room with antiques, books and coffee or tea available. We had the room with the king size bed that was above the bookstore and a view of the street. The bathroom was hidden behind a secret book case. It had a lovely tub and shower and large closet. It was nice to be able to walk the beach, and walk to to the eateries. Parking was in the public parking. The only down side was the bar next door could get loud at night. But Clair had ear plugs available in the room. The rent fee was reasonable for what you had. I would recommend this spot if noise isn't a problem for you.
Owner's reply: Thank you and hope to see you again soon. If you take the "Nautical Room" located to the Back next time, there is no noise from the bar. Thank you again!
The room we had was absolutely unique. We felt totally secure and never locked our door. A place where you felt like you could walk bare foot just like at home. Claire and the others couldn't do enough for us. If we had a question about a event or happening in town they would get us a answer. We would totally recommend it to anyone that wants a different and at home experience.
Owner's reply: Thank you and we hope to see you again soon on the West Coast. Claire and Lucinda
“I felt like I'd traveled to an English seaside”
B and B and gone back to the 1950s The atmosphere was so great, the service wonderful, and the ocean and everything I wanted to do was within walking distance of this adorable place! No jet lag too and the breakfast was much better than anything I'd ever has in the Uk.
Owner's reply: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon. Lucinda
“English B & B charms”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Claire, Lucinda, and Fletcher were all so gracious and accommodating. Complimentary bottles of wine awaited us upon our arrival. The breakfasts, served in the solarium, were outstanding. The sunny, enclosed room also provided a wonderful atmosphere for reading--day or night. The location was fabulous: 1/2 block from Nye Beach, near many shops and restaurants (Cafe Mundo has excellent food and music, Cafe Stephanie and Nana's Irish Pub offer wonderful cuisine, too). We look forward to many return trips.
