About the area

We live in a friendly neighborhood. Walk to pubs, cafes restaurants, Whole Foods, YMCA, parks, churches, banks, and more! Short drive to public pools, splash pads, and lakes in the summer. We live very close to the Mass Pike, Commuter Rail and Express Bus to Boston. The express bus to Boston is a quick 2-3 minute walk away. Once on the bus, it's about a 15 minute ride into the city. If you have a car, there is one parking spot in front of the house. There are other spots on the street. We live very close to exit 17 off the I-90 Massachusetts Turnpike. You can drive into Boston within 10 -15 minutes depending on the time of day.

Getting around

BOSTON: CAR: You can drive into Boston within 10 -15 minutes depending on the time of day. EXPRESS BUS: The express bus to Boston is a quick 2-3 minute walk away. Once on the bus, it's about a 15 minute ride into the city. I have a Charlie Card available to guests (hanging on the fridge). With the Charlie Card it would cost $4.00/person for a ride into the city. UBER: $15 - $20 Uber ride into the city (subject to change depending on time of day). COMMUTER RAIL: There is a commuter rail stop (Newtonville) that is a 1/4 mile walk up the road. People take this to Yawkey Station to see a Red Sox Game at Fenway. The Newtonville stop is in Zone 1 and costs $6.25 when tickets are purchased ahead of time.

Getting here

Our apartment is right over the Boston line in Newton Corner, exit 17 off the Mass Pike. The quickest way to get here if you didn't rent a car would be Uber or taxi from Logan airport (12 miles). To get here taking public transportation you would take the Silver Line to South Station, walk .3 miles to Otis street and take the 553 or 554 Express bus to Newton. There is also a commuter Rail stop (Newtonville) that is about 1/4 mile walk up the road. People would take this to Yawkey Station to see a Red Sox Game at Fenway. There is no Subway (T) that goes directly to our apartment. You could look in Newton Center for a rental if you would like this and you would be on the Green Line. my husband takes the Express Bus into Boston everyday. He uses the xtBus app on the iPhone and it tells you exactly when the next bus will be arriving so you don't have to wait at the bus stop.

Interaction with guest

My family and I live upstairs. You have a keyless entry to the front door, so there is no need to schedule a time to check in. If you have any questions or problems, my husband and I are available. Most guests enjoy a more hands-off approach to their stay, but if you are someone who would like to be shown around the apartment please let me know and I would be more than happy to help out. Other than sometimes hearing my children around the yard, this is a very private condo on a quiet street.

We traveled to the Boston area with our two teenage sons. We were looking for a home base outside the city where we could tour the city and surrounding area and come back to every night. This place was PERFECT! It has four bedrooms which was great for us. Everyone had their own space. The unit had everything you could think of or need. Lisa has thought of everything. If we needed something, I looked around and there it was. We also had access to laundry as well which was a big help. It was an easy commute to the city. We drove in one day and took the "T" the next. Lisa was a big help giving us some guidance on how to get around the city and parking. We also drove up to Lexington & Concord, Salem and down to Martha's Vineyard and the rest of the cape. This was a great location for our home base. I can't say enough good things about the city as well. Cute town. We were super close to a Whole Foods and numerous restaurants. Very nice and safe neighborhood. You can't go wrong staying in this condo. You won't regret it!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for the wonderful review Meredith! We really enjoyed having you and your family and are so happy you enjoyed your stay.

“Exactly what we needed!”

Lisa's home was an amazing way to end our Vacation! We were on the East coast for a wedding and traveled around a bit but enjoyed our last 3 days in her beautiful home! Each room was decorated beautifully! There were eggs, milk and orange juice in the fridge when we arrived and that was a God send! We had 2 toddlers and an infant and having everything on one floor (you only stay on the bottom level of the house) was great! It's very close to Boston and there were a few great parks around the area for the kids! Everything around the house worked as it should and we had no problems the whole time we were there! We ran into Lisa a couple of times while coming or going from the house and she made a point to stop and make sure we had everything we needed! When we return to Boston we will definitely be contacting Lisa to stay here again! I highly recommend staying here! You won't regret it!

Owner's reply: Thank you for the nice review Kristi! I'm so happy our apartment worked out so well for you and your family. Lisa

I rate this place a 5star. It was everything I could imagine. Lisa was a great host. The house was beautiful, clean and easy access to downtown Boston. When we arrived their was food in the pantry as well as a few breakfast items in the fridge. I would definitely recommend anyone looking to stay within minutes of Boston to stay here. My coworkers and I loved it. I wish we would've stayed longer but we will be back to visit.

“A gem in Newton”

Our family of four really enjoyed our stay. Lisa was a tremendous host, to the degree of having milk & OJ (and more) in the fridge for us when we arrived. The flat feels like a home. Location is just 5 min off the Mass Pike, but you feel miles away. Easy walk to a Whole Foods. We look forward to coming back.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for the nice review Rob, you and your family are welcome back anytime! Lisa
