Description of the Nice vacation apartment rental
This charming two-bedroom apartment has been reviewed so many times that it was one of the finalists in the Holiday Rentals UK web competition for the most reviewed property. (Link to web page available on request)

The apartment has air-conditioning, cable TV , internet & phone. It is in the Musiciens area, close to the Negresco Hotel. The beach and the Promenade des Anglais are 10 minutes walk. The apartment is spacious and the total area is over 80 square meters. There are two double bedrooms and the apartment can sleep up to six people. There is an open balcony area to enjoy the sun and a covered balcony area for eating out.
The apartment is on the fifth floor, and, yes, there's an elevator. Two English residents of Nice look after the apartment for us, and are available if needed.

Area Information
Nice, the city by the sea has the best of all worlds - a mild climate throughout the year and a style all of its own. Around the corner from the apartment is an excellent restaurant, a specialist food market and tea rooms with oh-so tempting chocolates. Those early morning croissants are just two minutes away. There's a children's park a block away and the local Rialto Cinema shows the latest movies - in English, if your French isn't quite what it should be. One of the best ways to see the glory of the Riviera coastline is from the train - the station is under 10 minutes walk away. Go east to Italy - west to Cannes ... sometimes decisions are just so difficult.

Deposits: 25% payable on booking. Remainder due 6 weeks in advance of holiday. 375$ per week security deposit payable 6 weeks before holiday for breakages, lost keys etc., which will be returned after your stay. The deposit includes a charge of 40$, should extra cleaning be needed. Price includes sheets, towels and a light clean at the end of your stay. Electricity is charged according to the meter.There is communal central heating which is not charged for but we do not know when it will be turned on.

Other Fees: Rates are for two people. Add 58 $ for each extra person or child above 2 staying. Rates for Xmas and New Year are 1008$ per week and include chocolates and champagne on arrival.

New Year stay
Apartment was exactly as described - included a bottle of champagne and some choclates for New Year celebrations.
Helpful owner and managing agent. Plenty of additional local information provided in apartment.
Quiet location within easy walking distance to the beach, shops, trains and buses. No car necessary.
Full deposit returned very promptly.
Recommended for: Girls Getaway, Romantic Getaway, Sightseeing, Tourists without a Car

Reviewing the other comments of vacationers, they are quite accurate. The property is as advertised, there are no surprises. It is a great location and a wonderful neighborhood. We followed Nicola's advise about restaurants and had a most delightful meal at L'Occitane, the Brasserie around the corner. We did have a small mishap while there, the shower leaked into the apartment below, but Nicola and Peter saw to it that it was looked after and repaired as soon as possible. Not speaking the language, this was most important to us that Nicola (and her local agent) communicated with constantly either by phone or email regarding the situation. We are estate agents in the US and were quite impressed with Nicola and Peter's responsiveness, honesty, fairness and the accuracy with which they portrayed their vacation property.
