“Unforgettable”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2016

The house was great. It was clean and well stocked. After being there just a day, it started to feel like home. Which is always a good feeling when being on vacation. The beds had a good range of soft and hard, the basement was perfect for cooling off, and there was plenty of things to do in the house. As for the lake? WOW! All of our days there were perfect. It was fairly common for there not to be a breath of wind and the lake perfectly calm. We spend a lot of our time on the water kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing. We left the house every day. We went up to Sugarloaf a couple days to eat and zip line, which I would highly recommend. One of the best adventures we went on was going to see a waterfall 10-15 miles away. The owners had it mapped out with directions. We spend 2 days there roaming up the river. Other than that, we simply went to nearby small towns to eat or just walk around. The owners were great in making sure we had everything we needed. The communication was amazing, they worked with our travel plans and our flights being delayed, and had the house in perfect order when we showed up. This would have to be one of the best vacations we have had. Thank you!

“Wonderful place to stay!”

The cabin and all of its facilities are exactly as pictured. There were no bad surprises nor disappointments. The cabin was clean, the amenities new (oven, microwave, bathrooms , washer and dryer). The access to the lake was fantastic and easy. We spent many hours fishing, kayaking and just sitting reading and enjoying the view of the lake from the back deck or the deck near the water. The location of the cabin made it easy to travel to Bangor, Bigelow Preserve, Freeport and other hiking trails. It was very quiet and we often fell asleep listening to the loons calling at night. This was a great place to stay. We highly recommend it.

“ALL EXPECTATIONS WERE WELL MET!”

We had a great time at this rental! The place was spotless upon our arrival and the owners were very helpful through our entire stay. The lake was quiet and surroundings pristine! We never left the cabin unless it was to go simming, kayaking or canoeing! We cooked all our meals and slept comfortably and the weather could not have been any better! The lake is crystal clear and warm. We look forward to staying at the Daly's lovely vacation home again! Thank you for helping us find this place and making our vacation there one with many happy lasting memories such as the humming birds that seemed to be constantly around as well as the female mallard that visited us every morning to eat from our hands, she even followed us on some of our kayak trips. It was heart warming!

“The Daly cottage is a great vacation spot”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2014

For the third year in a row, we spent a week at the Daly cottage on Embden Lake. The cottage is well appointed and the location is superb, near the head of the lake where the cottages are fewer in number and there is little or no boat traffic. The loons can be heard each morning and at night. Highly recommend this property.

“dad loved it”

Great time. Comfortable clean beds, wonderful decks and beautiful views. The water is clear, with a rocky bottom , no slime, muck, or weeds. It is so clear you can see the rocks from the deck. The water temp was fine, warmer than the ocean and other lakes I've been to. Waist high at end of dock. A tenderfoot might was shoes. If the Gods are willing I'd go back again for a relaxing family vacation.

We had the most wonderful time here. The house was beautiful and had many things to do. The water was crystal clear and the view was amazing. We had children from 4mo to 17years old. They were all entertained and did not fight all week!! We are hoping to go back next year. I would recommend bringing your family here.

“Great cabin”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2010

We had a lovely time at the cabin on Embden Pond in Maine last week. My brother, my niece and I spent time relaxing and exploring Maine - we were situated nicely to take day trips around the state. The cabin was beautiful - in wonderful condition and beautifully set directly on the pond.

“Lovely, well-tended home with loads of activities”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2008

Our party consisted of 4 adults and we all had a wonderful and relaxing time enjoying the beautiful view, fishing and playing air-hockey. The home is very well maintained and comes with many items to entertain those with active and passive tastes or abilities. Most teenagers would find it the place of their dreams.
