“Exceptional pool and backyard”

Reviewed 26 Nov 2015

We spent a week in november at La villa passages des tortues. We wanted to relax and that's exactly what we did. The pool is quite huge and the backyard is right on the canal, wich provide a great and relaxing view. There is also a large open terrace with a roof. It was useful because it rained for a few days. We abolutely loved the pool and the spa. You also get to access a private beach (about half an hour from the house) with a private parking. Very easy to find and beautiful beach (Lauderdale-by-the-sea). That's a bonus! The owner is kind and attentionate to our needs. We will be back.

Amities, Pierre Vo

4 friends on a golf trip, we loved this place for what was included (everything wee need), for the localisation (not so far from best golf courses) and for the easy way to check in and out. Nice heated pool and spa, BBQ, long chairs, etc... If we come back, it will definitly be a place we would rent again. Thank's Vo !

Owner's reply: Thank you for your comments,I'm glad you have had a great times in South Florida ! Looking forward for your come back next year !

“Great backyard, terrace and pool, watch sunset”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2015

Great backyard, terrace and pool, watch sunset every night. Quiet place with a kitchen well furnish especially for cooking outside with a BBQ and a cooking plate. The pool was great so is the spa. We took all of our meal outside in a convenient terrace near by the kitchen. Pierre the owner was really caring person while in our stay. Always answering our questions quickly.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your nice sweet comments , we 're looking forward for your come back soon next year !

“Great place to stay”

Reviewed 19 Feb 2015

Nice home in residential neighborhood. Easy to reach from the airport in our rental car. Pierre, the owner, goes out of his way to prepare and help you before the stay. We were delayed 24 hours on our way to the house, and Pierre offered us an extra day at the villa. Great service! The villa is not new and sparkling, but charming with a place for everybody. We loved the poolarea and deck. We watched turtles, fish and ducks from the deck and both grown-ups and kids loved the huge, heated, deep pool. The garden surrounding the pool makes you feel like you are all alone, completely private. 3 minutes to nearest Publix and Wallmart. 10 minutes to great shoppingcenter. Special feature is the private beachclub at Pompano beach!!!! Private parking right at the beach, a place to sit and eat your food and rinse off before heading home. And amazing beach, very clean. Only "bad" thing to say, is that the 2 king beds are both really squeaky, when you are trying to sleep.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your comments and we 're glad that you enjoyed so much your stay ! I found out why the squeaky noise you have mentioning on the king bed that indeed is was off hook to the frame and somehow was pushing far away from the wall (2 inch) , it has been fixed and possibly will replace with the whole set of new bed if the problem persist again . “Perfect tropical hideway”

Reviewed 6 Feb 2015

I stayed for the month of January. The property perfectly met my needs. I was working remotely and the Internet was fast and reliable, the beds comfortable, the pool warm, the canal a serene backdrop and the canoe a treat at the end of the day. The location was convenient to shopping, highways, dog parks and it was easy to get to both Fort Lauderdale and Miami quickly. The neighbours were friendly and I liked being away from the snowbird scene. Pierre is an excellent host and was always available with helpful advice and to answer any questions I had. The highlight for me was the back yard: beautifully private, good mixture of sun and shade, great dock/deck overhanging the canal and big pool I am coming back.

“Fort Lauderdale Home”

“Just okay”

Reviewed 5 Mar 2013

When we first arrived we were horrified. We thought the neighborhood was very questionable(everyone had an extra 2 or 3 cars parked on the yards instead of the driveways) and the house was dirty. We had LOTS of other complaints too but the owner and the property manager knocked themselves trying to please us. I can't say enough nice things about the owner & p.m. Even on a Sunday the property manager came over to help us change a light bulb because it took to men to remove the glass globe. The owner sent over another cleaning lady to reclean the house to a better condition. Part of the problem is that they had a cheep vacuum cleaner that could not ever clean the carpets very well so over time they had become full of dirt, stains and filth. In the kitchen there were dead bugs. I took a lot of things out of the kitchen cabinets and put them in the dishwasher or washed them by hand. There were lots of good things about the house too. The kitchen was remodeled with good quality cabinets, top of the line refrig, stove, dw, microwave, etc. The pool was great. The hot tub was the best ever. The deck overlooking the canal with lots of ducks and turtles was nice in the a.m. The backyard was very private. The gas grill was top of the line. There was a table with several chairs to dine outside under a covered patio. There was not a fence around the pool to keep the kids away from the pool however. I thought that was a state law. We had to improvise. There was not enough parking out front because the owner had a large boat and 2 cars parked there. Although after complaining he did remove 2 of the cars. The fourth bedroom does not have a closet. The master bedroom has its own bathroom with tub/shower which is nice but dated. Then off another hall are 2 more bedrooms with a bathroom with whirlpool tub/shower. The family room is very small which is where the t.v. is. Large DR and LR. This area is NOT Fort Lauderdale or Pompano Beach! It is North Lauderdale which is a whole lot different. There is lots of commercial areas around for dining, shopping, groceries, Walmart, Sams etc. So what is good is very good and what is bad is pretty bad. If you are a clean, organized person don't stay here, if you are more laid back and just need 4 bedrooms this is the place. The owner's private beach is REALLY nice. It is worth it all by itself! The small boats he refers to are too hard to access so I wouldn't count on using them.
