“beautiful relaxing week”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2015

We came to New Hampshire for some rest and relaxation and this lakehouse was perfect. Perfect weather for a campfire at the lakeside and warm enough to do some fishing. The house had everything you need and the store is right down the road for groceries. John was an awesome help when we first arrived as well as playing the bagpipes the first day we arrived. Bummed that I missed the moose which walked across the yard right at the end the road (less than 1/8 mile ). Thanks again for a very nice vacation.

Florida is hot and humid in September. New Hampshire is the opposite. warm days and cool nights. Sleeping with a blanket and a window open is such a treat. The lake cottage is so cozy and comfortable with so many amenities provided. The location is perfect for day trips to the mountains or the beaches. John and Fran are the perfect host and hostess. I truly enjoy my return visits to New Hampshire.

Owner's reply: Thank you! We look foreward to seeing you again!

“Great vacation spot!”

We stayed there with our children ranging in age from 17 to 1 year old. We had a fantastic time hanging out on the sandy beach at the edge of the pond while the older kids played in tubes we brought in the water, and the little ones played with all the sand toys on the beach. We also had fun row boating all over the pond, trying to catch some fish, and even in the house, the younger ones kept busy in the beautiful toy room. The kitchen was well stocked with adequate pots/pans and utensils and I was pleasantly surprised to find it had a few basic seasonings/spices. The bedrooms were lovely, the beds were fairly comfortable. The whole place was impeccably clean when we arrived. We had a wonderful week and besides just hanging out we were able to spend a day at the Deerfield fair close by, , and visited the beach at Portsmouth. We came in late September, and the colors of fall were just beginning to come out and it was very beautiful!

“Great for the kids!”

We stayed here for a few nights starting December 1st for our son's wedding - his fiance was from NH. The location was so perfect. The lake was beautiful. I can imagine this place under all the trees in the summertime! For me, my knees aren't working well lately, and I forgot to ask about stairs and railings, so that was the only problem we had. Especially since the only shower is upstairs, and the washer and dryer is downstairs. But everyone else had a great time. Our kids, who are btwn the ages of 20 & 27 really liked the house/location. At the end of the street is a little "mom & pop" store and gas station. At the time of year we went, it was so peaceful, a good place to rest from all the busyness!

Owner's reply: Dear Julie Schmale, So glad you had a wondeful time! Please come and stay with us again!

Wonderful time and were happy that we could "sneak in" at the last minute due to a cancellation. The house had everything we needed and you were very helpful and responsive whenever there was a question or concern. Thanks again and we hope to be back.

Owner's reply: Dear Jerry, Thank-you! We enjoyed meeting your awesome family! It was wonderful to see you all down by the camp fire by the lake last evening. We hope to see you and your family again next year! Please say hello to Grandma Katie!

“Superb for family”

Amazing! We have 3 children under 4 yrs old. This rental not only gave my children so many options, but gave my husband and I a great vacation with our children. There was a large supermarket nearby - we felt peaceful solitude with the convenience needed with small children. The attached sunroom/greenhouse was lovely, beach and lawn area perfect. The piano in the home was fantastic. Flowers were left for me by the owners for me in celebration of mothers day. Cell service was perfect. We loved it!!!! If you are looking for a perfect place as a young family on vacation...then this is it!

Owner's reply: Thank-you Beth and Family! What a nice family you have! We are so happy you came and spent mother's day on the lake. It was wonderful to have you stay with us! We look forward to seeing you and your family again!

“You won't want to leave!!”

We were greeted by the owners father, who was so nice. He gave us a tour and assured us that the neighborhood was a safe as can be. He was so right. When we left I was looking for my keys and realized that I had left them in my car all weekend long, with the doors unlocked. There they were! The back yard was huge. No neighbors could be seen from out back. You won't believe the privacy. We had a fire by the water, fished, relaxed on the chair swing, played badmitton and wiffle ball, cooked on the grill and sat on the patio out back. The garden room offered a wonderful view of the lake. The bed was so comfortable I had a hard time getting out in the mornings. There is also a great selection of newer DVDs to watch. The childrens Safari room is adorable. No chance of children not having a wonderful time here. We can't wait to stay again. You couldn't ask for better rental owners!

“Wonderful Getaway”

We had the loveliest most relaxing week at your house in NH. The setting was beautiful & the house was large enough for all of us. We loved the lake & the kids had a blast fishing & swimming. The bagpiper at sunset was just the perfect topper to the day! Thank you!

“Heaven in the Hills!!!”

Reviewed 18 May 2009

My sisters and I rented the Lake House for a long weekend to celebrate our mother's 60th birthday. Our family all enjoys hiking, so we thought this would be the perfect location. It was everything we were expecting and a whole lot more!!! It was hard to tell what the house would be like from the pictures, but we were all more than pleased at the condition, and especially the cleanliness of the house. The backyard is very private and has its own small beach right on the lake. The fishing on the lake is fantastic!! There is also an enclosed greenhouse on the back of the house which is used as a back porch. This was an added bonus as there weren't any pictures of this area. This provided a nice place to congregate in the evenings without having to deal with all of the bugs that come out at night. The family who own the house is very friendly and accomodating. The father is the property manager and he provided fishing tips for the lake as well as directions to anywhere we needed.
