Description from manager

Villa Cathy is an old country estate located in the area of Val di Noto, between the towns of Noto and Palazzolo Acreide, recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The villa, with its 6 bedrooms, is 400 m2 large, with 300 m2 terraces and it is immersed in a 3.000 m2 lush garden.

Villa Cathy has been recently restored and it features a perfect mix of the local, traditional architecture with all modern comforts and from here guests can enjoy wonderful views of the typical fields of grain, carob plants, ancient olive and almond trees that surround it.

The villa can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people, it has spacious interior and exterior areas that enhance the original and ancient charm of this estate.

The property is structured as follows:

The main house, where on the ground floor we find the entrance, the living room with fireplace, a large fully equipped kitchen, 1 bathroom, 1 double bedroom, 1 single bedroom (passing) with bathroom with shower, 2 double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom with shower.

Then there is a small detached annex with 1 double bedroom + 1 single bed and 1 twin bedroom (passing) with bathroom-shower.

Finally, outside we find terraces, solarium, BBQ area and the swimming pool that is 6 x 13 meters and is equipped with sun lounges, umbrellas, changing room and external shower.

Villa Cathy is the perfect place for those who are looking for tranquility and relaxation and it is also the ideal base for visiting the beautiful surrounding areas. Situated halfway between the Iblean Mountains and the coast of Siracusa, from the estate it is possible to reach in a short time many charming baroque towns, such as the island of Ortigia, the historical centre of Siracusa, Modica, Scicli and Ragusa-Ibla.

Neighborhood and surroundings

Homeland of artists, philosophers and men of science, Siracusa land of wonders gave birth, among others, to the famous Archimedes.

Echoes of ancient civilizations still linger in the streets, baroque architectures narrate its rebirth, precious testimonies recall the splendor of Magna Graecia.

Romans and Byzantines, Arabs and Normans, Swabians and Aragonese, all wrote their part.

In the Park of Neapolis and in the Island of Ortigia, connected by three bridges to the mainland, the most interesting monuments are concentrated.

Noto and Palazzolo Acreide are two of the eight cities of the picturesque Val di Noto, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO for the wealth and value of the architecture of the eighteenth century, considered among the highest expression of the late Baroque in Europe.

From inside the Iblei mountains gently slope towards the coast, animated by indentations, promontories, islets and stretches of white beach.

Inland, especially near the river courses, there are several naturalistic sites populated by interesting specimens of flora and fauna.

In modern times it was one of the main stages of the European Grand Tour. Today is still one of the best destination for tourists from all around the world.
