Description of the Oak Bluffs vacation home rental
CANCELLATION SPECIAL August 20-27 just re-listed!!

***Transferrable Round-trip Ferry Ticket for one car included with reservations for Memorial Day Weekend and the week of June 25th! Dates are Sunday, June 25th to Sunday, July 2nd. Memorial Weekend Dates run Friday evening to Monday afternoon***

Linens and bath towels are always included!

Welcome to the Flying Seahorse, an updated, antique beach cottage that is steps from Oak Bluffs Town Beach (aka The Inkwell), has AC (upstairs, downstairs bedroom and living room), beach views from its balcony, a modern kitchen and plenty of space for extended families. It is an easy walk to downtown (Circuit Ave) and ferries. Linens and bath towels included.

Located in the Copeland Historic District area, this classic circa 1870s beach cottage has 4 bedrooms (plus 1 boxcar room with bunk beds) and 2 full bathrooms (each with shower, one bath per floor). The cottage sleeps a party of 10.

The Oak Bluffs Town Beach (Inkwell) is both just a hop, skip and jump from the cottage. The cottage has ocean views and is across from Seaview Ave. You can sit out on 3-season porch or the private front, 2nd floor balcony and enjoy an ocean view with your morning coffee.

The cottage is wonderfully updated throughout, with a fantastic granite kitchen with dishwasher, disposal and every gadget needed to make a great meal. In the last year, we have replaced most furniture, bedding, kitchen utensils, gas grille and outdoor seating. We always include linens and bath towels. Bedrooms and living room are air-conditioned for your comfort, not very common in the beach cottages in the area. The 2nd floor boasts a relaxing balcony with ocean views.

Catch great bike routes from Sea View Ave. Downtown Oak Bluffs (Circuit Ave) is a short 5 minute walk where you can dine out or visit many retail stores. Don't miss the country's oldest carousel in downtown Oak Bluffs. No car needed, really!

Although it's nice to unplug, the cottage has free Wifi with a code for those who want to stay connected, as well as TVs with cable.

There is one, convenient downstairs bedroom that has 1 king-size bed, perfect for those who may have difficulty with the steep staircase to the 2nd floor.
Upstairs bedrooms include:
Green room: 1 queen size bed.
Purple Room: 1 Double bed, 1 twin bed
Loft Room: 1 full sized bed, (boxcar room with purple room)
Yellow Room: 1 Double bed, 1 twin bed

Comfy mattresses are on every bed with fully-encased, non-vinyl, waterproof allergy mattress covers and pillow covers. We provide linens (sheets, pillowcases, blankets) and bath towels. We also start you out with: coffee filters, garbage bags, liquid hand soap at every sink, a new and clean dish sponge at the kitchen sink, a bottle of Dawn liquid, Cascade dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, rolls of paper towels, and rolls of toilet paper.

Easy walk from Oak Bluffs Ferry, steps to Town Beach (aka Inkwell), 5 minute walk to downtown. We provide the bulky items so you don't need to haul them over from the mainland, such as: beach chairs, a cooler, linens, bath towels, (even beach towels just ask), beach toys for the kids, tennis rackets, basketballs (for local public courts).

We like to have contact with our guests to ensure that the cottage is the right fit for them. It is an antique cottage, not a party house, and located in a very quiet neighborhood. Since it is in-town, the cottages are very close together and people are respectful of noise levels. It's not that you can't have fun though. You can also email us through this site with your inquiry. Please tell us about yourself and your party.

During High season (last week in June through August), this is a Sunday to Sunday 7 or 14 night rental.

We are not booking for 2018 yet. We will start to take reservations for 2018 in summer 2017.

More Information

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you supply linens and towels?
A: Yes! We provide linens (sheets and pillowcases) and bath towels. Saves you room in your car (not having to bring your own) and saves you money from renting from a linen service on the Island (about $200 savings).
Q: Do you have air-conditioning?
A: Yes! We have all AC units in the 2nd floor rooms, as well as a window AC unit for the 1st floor bedroom and living room. AC is a must in these antique cottages with tongue and groove walls. The 2nd floor is unbearable without AC in the summer!
Q: What amenities are in the kitchen?
A: The kitchen has microwave, dishwasher, disposal, stove/oven, toaster, blender, lobster pot and all the usual kitchenware. It has everything you need to make a great meal.
Q: Do you accept pets?
A: We MAY accept one adult dog in the off season. You must seek owner approval first. Dog must be adult (over 18 months old, spayed/neutered and licensed in his/her hometown). Pet fee of $300 is required. This is in addition to the standard cleaning fee of $300 as we double-up the cleaning team. No pets accepted in July and August (high season).
Q: How do I learn more about what's going on in the summer?
A: Yes, please visit our site. We have lots of links to area activities.
Q: What are transferrable ferry tickets?
A: Homeowners are allowed up to 3 sets of ferry tickets to transfer to a guest. We have reserved one round trip ferry ticket for one car for Memorial Day Weekend 2017 (Friday - Monday), the week of June 25th (Sunday to Sunday) and the week of July 9th (Sunday to Sunday). Transfers must be completed 30 days in advance to be eligible.
