3 weeks of relaxation
August 24, 2014
We stayed at this cottage for 3 weeks for our wedding. It was just what we needed. The cottage is neat and clean with plenty of extra linens. It was the perfect size for my husband and I and our 2 chihuahuas. The cottage has a beautiful back porch with a grill that we used all the time. There is also a hammock in the back yard. The house has fast wi-fi, but has terrible service inside if you need to use your cell phone. Neighbors are very pleasant and many all know each other. There is a small beach at the end of the road that the neighborhood uses. It is very relaxing but does get pretty full on the weekend days. The owner is very pleasant and helpful, and responds quickly if you have any issues. All and all a very nice experience. Whenever our next summer time trip to the Cape happens, we will definitely try to get this place again.

We all had a very good experience staying at the cottage. It is in a great location, neat and clean. The owner was very friendly and always willing to answer any questions we had. We would definitely consider renting this property again.

Not a good experience first we was told that the house is available than after a couple of days and numerous phone calls and emails finally the owner told us that the property is not available anymore .

Peaceful and Quiet
August 17, 2013
Myself, my kids and my parents all really enjoyed this peaceful and quiet cottage. We enjoyed the movies and books. When we were not enjoying ourselves at the private beach just minutes from the cottage, we were taking pleasure in the deck and the hammock. The hammock was definitely my kids most favorite part. We all agreed that we have found our home away from home and plan on returning.
Quaint cottage with a lot of potential
August 1, 2013
Onset is a magical place for a family vacation, and this cottage has the potential to be a wonderful home base for the trip. It is reasonably priced, and is one of the few properties available to be rented for less than a full week. The back-yard features a wonderful deck and grill, and a great hammock for relaxing and soaking up the idyllic Cape Cod atmosphere. Its proximity to a small private beach, to the marina, and to town was very convenient! Unfortunately, as we were among the first to stay in this newly-listed rental, there were a number of kinks still to be worked out. When we arrived (in a rush), the key was not in the pre-arranged location. Although we knew there was no wi-fi, we were not told in advance that there is virtually no cell phone coverage in the house, nor could we find the landline phone that was supposed to be in the house. This made it quite difficult to reach the owner about the key, and when we had a flat tire one night, this left us no choice but to knock on neighbors' doors to find somebody who would let us call AAA - quite inconvenient! Although it is advertised as suitable for up to 6, we were given a total of only 5 thin towels for the duration of our stay, hardly enough when we went to the beach daily and there is no washer/dryer in the house. Also, several of the drawers in the house were quite dusty and we were afraid to put our clothing in them! The owner was certainly pleasant and responsive to our questions, and the collection of books, games, and movies was a wonderful treat, but the page of directions didn't explain how to use the TV/DVD. There was also an annoying alarm bell which sounded every time we went in or out of the house; the owner did not know how to turn it off, though she did offer to come the next day to try to resolve it. In summary, we really enjoyed our stay in Onset and in this cottage, despite its many quirks. Hopefully these will get resolved as it gets rented out more often, and we will certainly consider it again for a future visit to Onset!

the good and the bad
July 24, 2013
Good - the owner was very nice and let us check in early. The area is amazing and you can walk to the beach in about 5 minutes. It was a nice, quiet area. The back deck is really nice and there is a hammock which my kids loved. There was also two pails and shovels for the kids to use. The mattress were a nice quality and seemed newer. Bad - There was a lot of old junk all over the place and it was all covered in thick dust. The drawers were loaded with old junk and shoes and they were covered in mold. The tvs were useless and not hooked up. The carpet was very stained and dirty (we kept our shoes on inside) and the refrigerator was dirty. Considering the amount of grossness, I wasn't sure about the cleanliness of the rest of the place although the bathroom and bedding appeared clean. The window ACs were so old and loud that we had to turn them off at night so we could sleep. The plug in air fresheners burned my eyes. The nightlight bulb and clock batteries were burned out. For the price, I would not stay there again.
