“Cool retreat from summer heat”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2016

Despite choosing what was probably the hottest weekend of the summer for our mountain rental, we thoroughly enjoyed the cozy cabin. Being in the woods in the mountains was a great respite from the heat and we kept comfortable enough inside thanks to the AC and fans. We were even able to enjoy the deck and the grill - and crazy us, even lit a fire in the firepit! This was a great location for our objective of attending the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival and a terrific find. Thanks, Linda - we definitely plan to be back, not just hubby and me but my cousins from PA, too!

Owner's reply: Come for the beautiful fall leaves!

“Second time here.”

This is my second time staying here. I love the quiet, cleanliness and calm. Great girl's weekend and I was able to bring my dog. Can't wait to go back in the summer!

Owner's reply: Glad you had fun Elizabeth and managed o.k. With the snow! See you next Summer.

“Great place to relax and recharge”

Reviewed 29 Dec 2015

I had a quiet, comfortable stay, which was exactly what I was looking for. The cabin is remote enough to feel rustic but with neighbors nearby, it feels safe. I enjoyed the fireplace and the deck, as other reviewers have mentioned. Also, the master bed is really comfortable. With the quiet and the coziness of the bed, there is no excuse not to get a good night's sleep. For couples looking to snuggle while watching movies, I will note that the futon has been replaced with 2 plush chairs. The owner is thorough with instructions to make your visit easy. She provides detailed directions to find the cabin and provides contact information for herself and a neighbor (there is a landline phone) if there are any problems during your stay.

“Loved the quiet!”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2015

This was such a great surprise. The cabin was quiet, clean, with everything you may need. No need to bring anything except food and drinks. The neighbors are close enough not to feel isolated, but with plenty of space to feel the quiet. The back deck faced beautiful trees and hills. Nice fireplace and grill. The rooms were comfy. No cable but there was wifi so I was still able to watch some of my favorite shows at night. Looking forward to renting again in the summer!

“Relaxing weekend”

Reviewed 19 May 2014

My husband and I had a relaxing weekend at the cabin with our dogs. We enjoyed getting away from it all, dark nights good for star gazing, listening to the stream from the deck, and having everything we needed right there -- a comfy bed and plenty of linens, a cozy living room, well equipped kitchen, grill, wine glasses, and, a great DVD collection.

“Quiet, charming, out of the way retreat”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2013

The property was everything that was decribed on line. Just over the mountain ridges to Route 11 which we used to tour the charming little towns from Strasburg to Staunton. We got lost but GPS got us right back to cabin over the back roads. Amazing! Only problem was internet was out but that wasn't a big concern.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin!!! We were pleased with the location, it was far enough away from everything that we were able to relax and have some solitude. At the same time, we were 30-45 minutes away from a Wal-Mart and plenty of food choices when we didn't want to cook. The cats loved it as well, they were right at home. It was wonderful to find the DVDs and games and even better that we did not have the TV to distract us from our romantic, relaxing weekend. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, kept in touch, and was very accommodating. She was prompt in responding and very kind. We look forward to our next stay at either of her cabins and highly recommend this listing to anyone wanting to get away. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

My family and I just spent the weekend at this delightful cabin. It was well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owner was very pleasant and accomodating and the place was beauifully located and surrounded by trees so it was very private. It's rural enough so you feel like you are in touch with nature but close enough to town. We enjoyed the birds and deer that frequent the area. It's also very close to Bryce's ski resort. My daughter wanted to learn to ski and we spent the weekend at the mountain tubing and skiing. It's so family friendly. We also enjoyed exploring the little towns and shops closeby. I would highly recommend this place for a couple of family looking for a relaxing getaway.
