Palmer Lake has rainbow trout, kokanee salmon ,eastern brook trout, brown trout, Lahontan cutthroat trout, and black crappie. It is also well known by insiders for both large and smallmouth bass. There is also burbot, bluegill, northern pikeminnow, lake whitefish, and peamouth, yellow perch and walleye. Anglers are allowed to fish the lake year-round.

The Beach:
Palmer Lake Lodge is situated on 2.5 acres with 300+ feet of lake front. The local road to Loomis divides the property, with the lake on one side and the beach on the other. There is a large anchor with a buoy and boat tie-up available.
