Description

The delightful Casale Olivella is located in Sugano, a little hamlet situated on a rocky slope of the Alfina plateau, just a few kilometres from Orvieto, a city famous for its rich culture of ancient traditions and unique artistic beauties. Casale Olivella is clad externally in antique exposed stone while internally the typical chestnut-wood beamed ceilings and the fine terracotta floors respect the true nature of Umbrian farmhouses. The heart of the house is the spacious living area, where you can entertain or cook together in the beautiful kitchen that faces directly out onto the garden. The bedrooms, all equipped with air conditioning, are plainly furnished with particular details while a characteristic brick-built loft contains a double sofa bed. The garden has many plants, tall trees, olives and flowers typical of the area and just a few metres from the porch is the beautiful private, salt-purified pool. Enjoying an apéritif by the pool or dining outside under the portico will be an unforgettable experience, especially at sunset. This oasis of peace arose from the interest and love of the owners towards this magnificent pristine land. Brick by brick they built the splendid house that is today Casale Olivella. Its particularly favourable position allows guests to make short trips along the innumerable cultural and naturalistic itineraries that wind through the territory of this most mystical and green region of Italy. The short distance from the main A1 motorway junction also facilitates travel to neighbouring Tuscany and Lazio to visit famous art centres, such as Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza, Viterbo and many more.

Interior

Casale Olivella has two floors that are connected internally, yet both have their own access to the garden. The main entrance on the ground floor goes into an open plan sitting and dining room, with fireplace, and kitchen with a French window that leads directly out to the portico set up as an outdoor dining area. The ground floor is completed by a double bedroom with divisible beds and ensuite bathroom with shower. 16 steps lead up from the sitting room to the first floor with two double bedrooms and a bathroom with hydromassage tub. All the bedrooms are air conditioned. Finally, 14 steps from the sitting room lead up to the loft with a double sofa bed.

Park

The 2200 sq m garden surrounding Casale Olivella is completely enclosed and covered by a beautiful green lawn which slopes slightly downwards and all around it are olive, cherry, pear, apple and almond trees, herbs like thyme, rosemary, sage and mint and flowers of all kinds. You can spend time under the portico set up for outdoor dining, just a few metres from the brick-built barbecue, sipping a glass of wine or just simply relaxing, while the children, a little further on, enjoy themselves in the play area set up on a stretch of green lawn. The 5-car parking area is located between the main gate and the entrance to the house.

Swimming Pool

On the same level as the house, just 15 metres from the portico, is the beautiful swimming pool. The sunbathing area is covered by a velvety green lawn. The rectangular pool, bordered by light-coloured tiles and lined with light blue PVC, has 4 Roman steps for access to the water. It measures 4 x 9 m with the depth varying from 1.20 to 1.60 m and has internal lights and salt purification. The pool area is equipped with sunbeds and an umbrella. The pool is open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October
