“Memorable Weekend at the Big House”

Reviewed 6 May 2015

My family and friends enjoyed a fun and memorable weekend at this house in Pacific Grove. Our group of ten adults, included four young married couples, two of whom have young children and babies. The house made it possible for all of us to gather for meals, to sit around a large table to eat and socialize, to play games with the children and babies inside and on the deck and lawn, around the fire pit and in the hot tub in the backyard, and to watch TV and play video games together in the large game room. The house is perfect for a large family gathering, with enough space and rooms where one could get away and find some quiet and solitude. We were in Monterey to attend the auto races at Laguna Seca. The house is close enough to the track as well as Cannery Row's restaurants and shops, the Aquarium and the Wharf to be very convenient and time saving. > > Two of the couples experienced the Aquarium for the first time, thanks to the owner providing tickets. A vase full of flowers, a bottle of wine and apple cider were unexpected and nice, thoughtful gestures. > >The property manager, Liane is very welcoming, pleasant and helpful and gave us a grand tour upon our arrival. She was as proud of the home as if it were her own. > > Although the house is more than 120 years old, it served our group well and its age is part of it's charm. Everyone ended the week-end saying that we should do it again next year. >

Owner's reply: Thank you Al, I am so happy your family enjoyed our home. My greeters Liane and Brenda take great pride in the house as well as Monica and her team who clean. As this is our family home and we still use it ourselves with grown children and grandchildren, I try my best to keep it updated and in good conditiion Thank you for choosing our home for your get together. I do hope you will come again. Sincerely, Mary Looram Looram & Associates LLC

“Wonderful 1st rental experience...”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2014

This was my first vacation rental so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and comfortable our stay was. Everything went perfectly from reservation to checkout. The owner and the greeter were both friendly and helpful. The home is beautiful, the neighborhood is peaceful and the neighbor's cat is adorable. All of the beds were comfortable, all of the appliances worked great and the house had everything we needed. I found it to be much more enjoyable than a hotel.

“Wedding Retreat”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2014

We stayed here while attending my son's wedding at Lover's Point. We were close and it was easy to get there. The accommodations were outstanding. Everything was there that we could have needed; from fine china, beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, to a beautiful backyard for entertaining a rehearsal dinner. There was plenty of room for 12 guest to sleep, and floor room for children if needed. We didn't need it but the children were in awe that they got to stay in such a great place. They loved that they had a T. V. In their room. They couldn't wait to visit Dennis the Menace Park and the Beaches. The aquarium is wonderful and not far away. The nicest part was working with an owner who was very personal and made the planning easy and enjoyable. The greeter was just as pleasant . Our experience could not have been better. Thank you Mary and Brenda.

Owner's reply: Thank you Colleen, I am so happy to hear you and your family enjoyed our home. Would love to see pictures if you used the yard for the rehearsal dinner. I am sure the wedding was beautiful. Thank you for writing a review. I really appreciate it. We love the house but we are a bit prejudiced, so it's nice to hear that guests loved it too. Warm Regards, Mary
