Description of the Pahoa vacation home rental
Experience the peace, beauty and serenity of living in your own home, with spectacular views of the Pacific and the tropical landscape of lower Puna: luxurious accommodations, expansive lanai, and open-space living.

Welcome to paradise!

1700 sq. feet of understated elegance and peace. Here is the perfect place to experience the magic of Lower Puna. Take your family or friends to a place that feels like home (Ohana) and that breathes in the spirit of welcome and love (Aloha).

Ohana Aloha sits upon a hilltop overlooking the Pacific. One hears the rustle of palm leaves, tropical birds and coqui frogs at night. The setting is truly beautiful and nurturing with a spacious lawn, fresh tropical fruits and vegetables, caressing breezes and even frequent rainbows. There is a deep sense of peace here.

We love where we live and enjoy sharing our excitement. Sitting on the lanai or strolling on the property, one experiences a dance of tropical weather, an interplay of bright sunshine, billowy, drifting clouds, soft rain showers, and the sensual feel of trade winds. Make this place a home base for your exploration of lower Puna and the east side of Big Island.
Area Information
Our home is centrally located in lower Puna. The rustic town of Pahoa is five miles to the north; the Pacific is five miles to the south. There are many intentional communities a few miles from the house: e.g., Hawaiian Sanctuary (yoga, permaculture, and Hawaiian culture), Kalani Retreat (yoga, spirituality, and Hawaiian culture), and Polestar, a spiritual community based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda.

The home is 40 minutes from the attractions of Hilo and about one hour from Volcano National Park. North of Hilo are the awesome Akaka Falls and the spectacular Hawaii Tropical Gardens. One could easily spend a week here and not see everything. Guests are encouraged to use us as a resource in planning their stay. We can recommend the best places to go, snorkeling, swimming, dancing, yoga, massage, etc. There are a rich variety of places to eat in the area, which are included in a resource book that we have created for our guests.

Guestbook

A lovely stay in a spacious house admist a stunning setting, with garden views, beautiful sunsets, starry night skies. Konrad and Robert went above and beyond host responsibilities, providing fruits and chocolates to welcome us, a fridge filled with essentials (water, bread, eggs) and fresh orange juice each morning plus access to their organic vegetable garden - we had a cucumber from here, yum! While Pahoa is 45mins drive from downtown Hilo and the airport, it was well worth the travel to experience the charming town of Pahoa - one of our favorite locations in Hawaii. We were also lucky enough to be there on a Wednesday evening and our hosts recommended we visit Uncle Robert's Farmers Market which was truly a special experience! Carina's review of our adjoining property, January 2016

My sister and I stayed with Robert and Conrad for several nights. We couldn't have found a more wonderful spot to stay. The property was beautiful and so inviting. We found ourselves wanting to wrap our days up early just to get back to spend some time enjoying the scenery. The list goes on and on of all the things we loved about this place. Inside and out this place exceeded all of our expectations. Such a wonderful space. I hope we will be able to return. Morgan's review of our adjoining property

January 2016

Konrad and Robert were AMAZING hosts, and their place in Pahoa is spectacular for the real-deal Big Island experience. The frogs croaking at sunset, the freshly picked fruits from the garden, and the thorough book of suggestions from the hosts all combined to make this the perfect place to stay, especially for adventurers wishing to explore all parts of the island (Pahoa is conveniently located between Volcano and Hilo/Waipi'o). Michael, a guest at our adjoining property. Jan 2016
