Great for young people

Rented this Carriage house for 1 week but upon arrival found that it was not suitable for "seniors" due to the steep spiral staircase to the living area on the second floor. Would be a great place for younger water sports enthusiasts and reasonable at the price. (Fortunately, the Beach House that sits right in front of the Carriage House was available so we moved in there and thouroughly enjoyed a very relaxing week on the North Shore of Maui) Grounds of the estate are beautiful and the beach is wonderful. Great for swimmers of all ages and abilities. Very private and peaceful. Such a nice change from the crowed shores on the other side of the Island. Enjoy!
Beware of Ziggy the killer Rottweiler
October 10, 2009
This is the email I sent to Kahana Properties after our visit. Hello Suzanne, My Wife Lotus, daughters Mia (age 6) and Lily (age 4) arrived safely home Tuesday evening. You have a beautiful property and we had a good time. However, I want to make you aware of the reason we will not be returning and will not recommend the rental to friends. Ziggy is not the type of dog one should have on a rental property. The dogs head is as big as it's body. Ziggy is easily excitable, unpredictable most of the time and predictable in others. An easy prediction is that he will bite you if caught swimming in the water, as he did Robert the gardener. A quote from Robert,"Oh yeah, Ziggy bit me and it still hurts. I think he is a great dog, but I don't trust him". The unpredictable part is when he is around children. During one of the many episodes that Pierre was unable to keep Ziggy leashed and he got loose, I heard him yelling for the dog. Pierre asked, "Have you seen Ziggy. I worry about him around the children". Finally, as we were relaxing on the beach with the girls, Ziggy appears followed by Pierre. They hang out for awhile until Ziggy lunges at my daughter Lily, my 4 year old, and puts his teeth around here elbow and torso. My diminutive wife with the freshly broken clavicle had to fend off the massive rottweiler. Now, I am not a litigious person, and I teach my girls how to act safely around dogs (we have two of them), but you can be sure if something were to happen t
The Carriage house is under renovation and is being completely redone. It will occupy a large space and will have a nice cathedral roof in the living room, new kitchen, bathrooms. I will post pictures when it is ready, probably around November 15.
