Sleeps up to 4 - One Bedroom Loft With A/C - Come Spoil Yourself in Paris......

A little haven in one of Paris' oldest and most delightful neighborhoods.

What a treat this apartment is! The neighborhood and street is out of this world, the best of the best. Situated in the oldest section of Paris, this area is called the Marais. It offers an array of cultural and cosmopolitan features - hip and trendy shops, historical buildings on streets that are centuries old, the Jewish quarters, and the fashionable gay neighborhood. You’ll find upscale perfumers, wine and champagne vendors, jewelers, bakeries, cheese shops, gardens, intimate museums, and some of the best shopping in Paris. The apartment is located on rue des Rosiers, or ‘Street of Rosebushes,’ a cobblestone pedestrian street that dates to the 12th century when King Phillipe II built ramparts and planted roses along the fortified walls enclosing his kingdom. When everything else is closed in Paris, the rue des Rosiers is bustling; it is perhaps the only area where, on Sunday, everything is open! The picturesque street makes for wonderful people-watching in the middle of Paris’ most vibrant area. The public garden tucked away down the street feels like a private respite. This is where trendsetting and tradition mingle, and it’s like no other experience.

This magnificent apartment in a 17th century building oozes charm. The massive doorway on the street is proof of its age, a throwback to the past. Upstairs, entering the apartment, you will be struck by the dazzling beauty of the décor. There is an exquisite play between lace like decorations, light, and lovely intricate touches, making this a strikingly beautiful apartment.

No expense has been spared in the renovation of this upscale apartment, furnished with an elegant combination of antiques and high-end comfort. Take for example the floors which are quartersawn in French massive oak and the intricate iron welded railing recreated using a 19th century ironmonger’s pattern. It’s in the small details - the fixtures, the glasses, the crystal chandelier, the two bathrobes for guests to use, lavender plants hanging from the windows… Absolutely everything has been chosen specially for the apartment to provide pleasure for its guests.

Notice the magnificent floor-to-ceiling double glazed windows with wooden shutters opening over the street. What a pleasure to watch the passersby and the neighborhood activity below.

The modernized downstairs bathroom is simply perfect. It includes a bathtub with rain shower, WC, and sink. White tile, pearl grey walls, and the owner’s personal decorative choices and supplies make this a truly pleasant bathroom. A washer/dryer combo is tucked away on one side.

The open kitchen is lined with Italian marble counter tops and back splash. Newly equipped with a 4 burner induction stove top, dishwasher, and microwave/oven combo, all your needs are provided for. Beautiful glassware, new appliances, and elegant tea cups are just some of the special additions to this kitchen.

On the far side of the room, the sofa bed opens to become a queen bed. A TV against the wall pivots for comfortable viewing. The area around the sofa bed and coffee table can seat up to 6 guests and is a perfect flexible and casual dining area.

Head up the oak staircase, lined with the intricate iron railing, and enter the welcoming mezzanine. Elegant sconces, retrieved from a 19th century renovation of a medieval castle, are hung intermittently along the walls. A closet area, off to the side in a convenient nook, provides ample storage space. There is also a second half bathroom with WC and sink on this level. As this building dates to the 17th century, the bedchamber and powder room are nestled in an alcove under rustic exposed beams. Taller clients should be prepared to duck their heads. Nestled nearby is a comfortable queen bed. From the mezzanine you can look out over the living room, through the lace worked iron railing and the chandelier, and to the tall windows bringing in light from the street. So easy to go out and buy morning croissants!

Massive oak beams are the building blocks that support these 400 + year old buildings throughout Paris, and the rest of Europe. In this apartment, they are exposed and line the ceiling of the mezzanine and the 2nd floor bathroom. Each beam has different dimensions, so it's difficult to provide a standard ceiling height. That said, if you are 5'6 or taller you should expect to duck to make use of the 2nd floor bedchamber and toilette.

Enjoy this unique Marais studio for an unforgettable vacation in Paris!
