Perfect Family Vacation
Three generations of my family enjoyed this house for a week over New Years. This was the second time that we did this, after loving the house last year. This year, the house, once again, did not disappoint and provided the perfect setting for our vacation. The house is ridiculously well appointed and filled with pockets of fun be it the pool table, movie theatre (which is loved by children and adults alike!), the Wii, Xbox, collection of books, views, and quiet corners for peaceful rest or conversation. The slope in the backyard also proved to be perfect for sledding (which was also loved by children and adults alike!). Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this house or the owners. It is just a pleasure to work with them and be in the house. We will be booking again for next year.

Lovely Property! Great place for a holiday.
A wonderful well-appointed house, right in the heart of Prince Edward county. we were a group of 10 girls and really enjoyed our time. The bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely. The kitchen is fully stocked and the movie theatre is a great added touch. Thanks for a lovely weekend!

My leadership team and myself spent some time at the Loyalist House earlier this week. This space offered us the opportunity to conduct our business during the day, for separate sessions we utilized their media room. In the evening it was the perfect place to socialize and relax in front of the outside fireplace. The view was spectacular and the accommodations were very comfortable. The kitchen is perfect for preparing dinner for a large group. We had the amazing experience of having local chef Michael Hoy prepared our dinner one night, I highly recommend you experience his cooking. We hope to go back to the Loyalist House for another event in the future.

Fabulous Weekend!
Our family had such an amazing weekend at this beautiful home. We loved the way each bedroom was a bit different with its own theme. The house had a lot of windows which let in the natural light and view of the water. Of all the bedrooms the one in the lower level had the best view of the water - what a great way to wake up in the morning. We took advantage of the movie room and felt like we were at a movie theatre - it was so much fun! There were also plenty of brochures and magazines to look through to let you know what's happening in Prince Edward County. This was a great idea, especially if you are new to the county. After the initial excitement wore off we felt very comfortable in the house and felt like we were at home. We could have stayed longer and will definitely be back!!

Beautiful house in beautiful setting!
Our girls weekend was made all the better for choosing this location. The house is gorgeous and full of nice details including quality furnishings. The beds are heavenly - to the point that we made sure to find out where the mattresses came from so that we can replicate them at home. Great views of the water and the warmth of the house made up for the fact that November can be a dreary month to travel. The outdoor fireplace topped off our final night there. Highly recommend!

Beautiful home in Picton!
I rented this property from a very nice lady who was accommodating and quick to respond. My friends and I were blown away by this beautiful house with top of the line everything. It made our stay enjoyable and easy. I know for sure we will be going back there to tour the beautiful wine country and sit by the most cozy outdoor fireplace. Thank you again! And we'll be back :)

Luxurious Loyalist House
Our group of 6 stayed at Loyalist house for the Thanksgiving weekend once again this year. This house is supremely comfortable with all the bells and whistles one could want. It's very spacious and has 4 bedrooms each with its own luxurious bathroom. The living areas are perfect for a group as you can be in the kitchen area and still be a part of the action going on in the dining and living rooms. The house is clean and modern and well thought-out. If there are ever any questions about the place or how things work, there is someone nearby who comes right over to help. We really enjoyed staying there and will want to do so again next year.

A Beautiful Fall Vacation Spot
We held our sibling family reunion at Loyalist House this past weekend and had a wonderful stay. The property is just as described and offered the four couples a great spot to relax and socialize. The open area dining room, kitchen and living room was the perfect spot for everyone to congregate. Although we did decide to dine in two of the evenings of our stay (the kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly require) the region offers a host of wonderful restaurants. The gals wandered the shops of Bloomfield and Picton, while the men who were "weathered out" of their planned golf game watched sports on TV and then went out for lunch. Another afternoon we hired a limousine service to take us to various wineries in the area. Lots to do, regardless of the time of the year. The bedrooms were very comfortable and we all loved having the luxury of private ensuites. The men enjoyed having the downstairs media room and the pool table. Valerie has designed a beautiful home that offers either families with children or adult groups a perfect spot to vacation. The highlight of the trip for me, was rising early and enjoying a cup of tea while I watched the sun rise over the bay. How perfect could it be! Thank you Valerie for a wonderful three night get away.

Magical, comfortable weekend.
Our reunion weekend at Loyalist House was super. The four bedrooms and ensuites worked so well. One family brought their teenagers who LOVED the media room. We enjoyed a fire every evening and made good use of the great kitchen.

Perfect for an extended family getaway
We could not have asked for a more perfect location to accommodate our extended family of 10. It was clean, spacious and the amenities rival that of any 5 star hotel. There was something for everyone to do. Beds were incredibly comfortable, which meant we were all well-rested (important for a family with small children)! It is a short drive to Waupoos Winery and the acclaimed Gazebo restaurant. Very close to downtown Picton and additional restaurants and shops. Two nights was simply not enough!

Exceeds expectations!
Loyalist house by far exceeded our expectations. The photos don't do it justice and our relatives from the U.S. were blown away and rated the house A++!! The bedrooms each with ensuite baths meant it was like having your own private unit. The location makes it an ideal spot for all things 'In The County' including wineries, great eats, artisan trail, and the beach! A great spot with something for all ages of the family. We highly recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to return!!

From the moment you walk into this lovely home, you will feel pampered. It truly is an exceptional home in an amazing location. It is far enough away from crowds yet close enough to get to all the places you desire in a relatively short period of time. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying great local wine and watching a magnificent sunset, or by the outdoor fireplace as the evening grew chillier. Watching movies in the luxurious theatre room was a treat, as was the pool table. I loved that every room has its own en suite. Our family and friends were very comfortable. We loved gathering in the spacious great room with large windows facing the bay. Even though the view is partial, it is beautiful nonetheless. Do not hesitate. You will not be disappointed. This place has it all. Five star for sure. We hope to be back next year. Thanks Val!

Perfect home in a secluded location
This gorgeous home must truly be seen to be believed...thoughtful touches and attention to detail all around. As other reviewers mentioned, the patio, balcony, theater room, billiards table, etc were all great places to unwind and make it particularly well suited to a large/extended family vacation. The location is nice - fairly secluded on a large property, yet very close to Lake on the Mountain and not a long drive to Picton. Valerie was an amazing host - very organized and thoughtful (eg. she left us a nice card and congratulatory bottle of wine knowing that we were getting married in the County). I can't recommend it more.

Wonderful home
I was visiting Picton with my family. This home was beautiful, calm and very relaxing. Every member had their own space. The location was so perfect for us. We had a really great time here. Enjoyed all the features in the house. Loved the media room and pool table. I would definitely pick this place again if I visit Picton.

A beautiful house - A lovely experience
This was our group's first trip to Prince Edward County. The property itself was the main attraction for us, as it could easily fit 4 couples and a couple small children. We loved the huge kitchen and the open spaces of the dining room and living room. While we were super excited about the movie room, we ended up not using it because we were having so much fun socializing and cooking upstairs! (Which just means we'll have to go back again to try it out - it looked amazing!). The kids loved the house and the thoughtful books and toys there ("better than a hotel" they said), and the adults loved having large bedrooms with super comfy king beds, their own bathrooms, and lots of space to socialize in. This property is well maintained, very clean, and very close to lots of attractions. I highly recommend it and hope to be back soon. Thanks again!

An Immensely Enjoyable Experience
This was our group's second visit to Loyalist House and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first. The house and it's location are perfect for anyone wishing to spend some time getting to know the County. We attended the Terroir festival in Picton and visited several wineries. The weather was perfect and the house amazing. For a stressed out group it was the ideal tonic. We hope to be back soon.

Beautiful house
We (4 adult couples) enjoyed a fantastic weekend get together in Valerie's home. Four large bedrooms each with an en-suite made for a great gathering. The home is large, well built, and offers many amenities not usually found in home rentals, a theatre room, and a billiard table (in excellent condition). Everything about the home was first class as was our experience with Valerie re booking, check-in, etc. We will be back ! Tom

Great Family Holiday
My family (8 adults + kids) stayed at the house for a week over new years and had an amazing time. The house is superb --- tons of space, very comfortable, loads of things to do. The movie theater was a huge hit with the kids and the pool table kept my husband and bothers-in-law happy --- the proximity of the pool table to the movie theater kept the moms happy as we could relax upstairs while the the dads played pool and watched the kids! We had such a good time, the first thing I did when I got home was book the house for next year. The owners were extremely responsive and made sure the house was in tip-top shape. We could not have asked for a better experience.

County Comfort
We booked this house for a Thanksgiving stay. There were six people; three couples, all great old friends. The house was ideal for us; very comfortable, roomy and luxurious. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and the common area is perfect for gathering and cooking together. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace one evening, and the view is lovely. The location is great for exploring the County and we had a super time there.

Fantastic Stay!
I cannot begin to explain how wonderful our stay in this vacation rental in Picton is. Valerie provides a marvelous place to unwind, adventure, and enjoy the company of fellow visitors. The location is beautiful, easy to access, and absolutely picturesque in the fall. There are so many added features that we didn't get an opportunity to use this visit, but there is already talk amongst the ladies of making this an annual tradition. Everything is top of the line. Every room is larger than my tiny Toronto condo. The wonderful, fully stocked (with utensils etc) kitchen made cooking for nine a breeze. During our stay, we did a wine tour and the driver had no problem finding us. At the end of the night, we came home, lit a fire, and enjoyed a tasty meal together. Some girls retired to their spacious bedrooms, others went to the theater and enjoyed the selection of 100+ movies, while another went and enjoyed a soak in the tub. Valerie has created a luxurious oasis in the countryside of Picton. I cannot say enough kind words about her space, or her service. We will be back!

Fabulous vacation home
Our weekend stay was luxury at it's best. We were 4 couples wanting a great getaway weekend to golf and explore the region. Our accommodations top the list of memories that were made that weekend. The expansive bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms made each of us feel like we were in our own luxury suite. Social gatherings were a breeze be it on the outdoor covered deck & fireplace, in the pool room or comfortable loungers in the in home theater. Meal time was an absolute pleasure from prep to table with plenty of room for all to enjoy and review the days activities. The photo's of this home do not do it justice. It is even more exquisite in person. You will love the layout and design and attention to detail. We would highly recommend the home to any and everyone and hope to return for our next fall excursion.

The Perfect Spot
We have visited the County for almost a decade now. We wanted to bring friends along to see how great it is, but we could never find a house large enough to accommodate 8 to 10 people. Loyalist House fit the bill perfectly. It is a beautiful house located near to many of the sites of the County. The amenities were far beyond anything we have had at other residences we have rented in the County. To say our friends were impressed by both the house and the County would be an understatement. They have already been asking when we can return.

A luxurious country home
We spent 5 days and 4 nights at this luxury vacation country home near Picton. It was a family get away for our family including adult children, their spouses, a baby and a toddler. To say the least we were absolutely thrilled with the accommodations. The home was a true luxury get away with each bedroom being more beautiful than the next and all of the bathrooms were off the pages of a decorating magazine. The kitchen was a dream with everything anyone would need. We were able to have 4 people cooking at the same time and still felt that there was room for everyone to comfortably prepare. We had all of our evening meals in the home and loved spending the evenings pre and post dinner in the large living space overlooking the lake. The bonus was having an actual cinema in the lower level of the home with lots of movie choices and the pool table that provided endless enjoyment as well. The home was so spacious that 7 adults and a toddle and a baby all had lots of room to spread out and enjoy the space. The home is built extremely well so that the early morning adults with children did not interfere with the sleeping of the adults who were able to sleep in during the morning hours. The only downside was that we had to leave after 4 nights and would have been thrilled to spend more time enjoying each others company, exploring the area and just being in the house. We were very lucky to have perfect weather and enjoyed exploring the area during harvest time, trying out the wines at the wineries and lunches outdoors in beautiful country settings. We have recommended this vacation home to all of our friends and relatives and home to return. A special thank you to Val for being so helpful to us and providing us with so many extras, including spices, a pantry with supplies and and a gorgeous home. The location is perfect since it is so close to Picton and yet in the country and on a country road. There is a cafe and restaurant only 10 minute walk away and so much to see in the area. The place was immaculate and well maintained and truly felt like being in a friend's home. The photos looked so inviting and we were all excited about going on our family get away but in reality the home was even more beautiful. The photos did not display the actual charm and beauty of each room
