Here are a few of my reviews I have received in the last couple of years:
November 25, 2015: I try my best not to use the word PERFECT that much, but it is the only word I can think of to use when I tell people about our Thanksgiving Holiday at PaPa Bear Lodge. It was 17 of us from 3 states and the accomodations was not overcrowded whatsoever, it is spacious enough where we did not feel like we were on top of each other. The cabin was clean and well organized when we arrived which was a big concern of mine. There was a lot of places in the area for the women in the group to shop and eat, while the men had a pool tournament going on the pool table. The cabin exceeded my expectations by miles, the owner of the property was very nice and covered all the questions I had and some I hadn't thought of asking in her email to me. If you have booked or thinking about booking PaPa Bear Lodge you are making one of the best decision you will ever make. Again I don't like to use the perfect a lot, but it is the only word I can think to use when I tell people about my Thanksgiving Holiday. We will definitely stay longer next time and the time after that. Thank you PaPa Bear Lodge for a wonderful Holiday.
October 19, 2015: We--a party of 10 Senior Citizens were very pleased to spend 4 days at Papa Bear Lodge. There were several in our group that had gone to kindergarten together ---some 70 years ago. We went sightseeing, shopping, and most of all enjoyed fellowship with our friends, relaxing, and just visiting in this spacious cabin. It is lovely and well equipped. Hope to visit here again. Thanks for everything.
August 30, 2015: We had a wonderful stay in Papa Bear! our three children, 3 grand children, brother and sis-in-law and ourselves all were extremely comfortable in this lovely home. There was plenty of room with the open concept living room /dining room/kitchen for all of us to have wonderful meals together if we chose to eat inside. The gas grill provided great evening cook-outs and with plenty of room on the back deck we gathered as a family and enjoyed each others company. This "cabin" was very clean and provided plenty of bed linens, towels, wash cloths, dish towels etc. The washer and dryer was a God-send having a group of 15. Every possible amenity was provided including dish soap, dishwasher soap, paper towels and bath tissue, enough to more than get us started. The views off the back porch were lovely. The hot tub was very large accommodating quite a group of us when we so chose to do so. The rockers on the front porch provided such a relaxing time. My husband and I enjoyed the master suite with the jetted tub when after a long day white water rafting or zip-lining with the kids. The location of this cabin couldn't have been more perfect. Close to all the attractions and restaurants yet, out of the hustle and bustle of traffic and noise. The decor was very tastefully done. Just enough to set the ambiance -not overwhelming in the least bit. The furniture and beds were all so comfortable, clean and accommodating. The recreation room and pool table provided a great place for the kids to hang out while we adults spent time together upstairs. I cannot say enough positive things about Papa Bear. We would think of booking no where else in the Smokey's should we get the opportunity to bring our family together again.
October 24, 2014: Thank you so much, Linda, for sharing your cabin with us. You made renting your cabin so easy, and it is reasonably priced. We had 13 people in our party, and there was ample room for all of us. The cabin was so clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We really enjoyed our stay there. The scenery was awesome. Wish it hadn't been so cold because we didn't get to enjoy the porches and decks as much as we wanted to. We also enjoyed our walk down to the gazebo and lake. It is so easily accessible to all we wanted to do. Some of us even rode the hot air balloon ride. Definitely recommend that as something to do. We didn't want to leave. I'm sure we will be back!!!
October 31, 2014: This is our second year at Papa Bear and it just keeps getting better. We had twelve family members with us this time from Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Everyone had their own room and bathroom, an added bonus. The cabin is setup for all age groups from the pool table to the cozy fireplace or front porch swing. We have all decided that this will be our place whenever we visit the area. Papa Bear is always clean, supplied, and welcoming to us all. Not to mention the location is very convenient being close to everything. Miss Linda has always been a pleasure to work with. So if you're looking for total relaxation in a beautiful cabin or either a short drive for a night on the town...then Papa Bear is the place to be! Trust me, you will not be disappointed! Thanks again Miss Linda, see you next year.
