Area Information
The Walden's Creek area remains unspoiled, lacking the clusters of cabins, shaved mountain tops, and traffic that take away from the "Smoky Mountain experience". The only commercial business located within 3 miles of Apple Dumpling Ridge is Walden's Creek Stables, offering trail rides, several hundred acres of beautiful pasture, and fall hay rides and campfires. Walden's Creek flows through a wide meadow paralleled on both sides by high mountains. Apple Dumpling Ridge is a leisurely 8 minute drive along Walden's Creek to the Pigeon Forge city limits, on a well maintained, paved road.
The Pigeon Forge area has something for everyone. The kids will love the Gatlinburg Aquarium, go carts and bumper cars, indoor skydiving, miniature golf, and much, much more. Mom may do all of her birthday and Christmas shopping at the numerous malls and craft centers. There is trout fishing and golf for dad and the whole family can enjoy canoeing, mountain hiking, downhill skiing, great music/comedy shows, Dollywood, etc.

Wonderful cabin

July 22, 2014

I stayed 10 days at Apple Dumpling, the first 5 with my husband, and the next five with my 7 sisters. The cabin is such a comfortable home away from home. Very nice to return there after an exhausting day hiking in the Smokies. We relaxed each evening enjoying the hot tub. There was plenty of room for our group of sisters also. The common area has a nice sized table for our group to enjoy some card and dice games. Bedrooms are spacious and there is an abundance of closet space. The location is perfect to enjoy all the area has to offer. Best of all, the cabin is secluded, which is a nice getaway from the commotion of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. All in all, we enjoyed Apple Dumpling immensely.

We're happy to hear that you had a good time and hope you can make it back again soon.

The cabin was beautiful. The location was beautiful. Quite, serene and peaceful. We lost power due to a storm and a blown breaker. The owners got things fixed as soon as possible and compensated us for the inconvenience. My husband and I were definitely sad to have to go and would gladly book this place again. I would highly recommend it.

Owner's reply:

Thanks for the nice review Carlisa, and thanks for putting up with candlelight for one evening. Rental property is just like all other property - sometimes things happen that can't be anticipated and are beyond control.
Hope to see you again.

Great Place

October 4, 2013

It was most certainly a luxury cabin . From the time we walked in we felt we were at home. Everything was so clean and well maintained and organized. Everything you needed was there including attraction pamphlets and reading material. We also enjoyed the pool table, and the hot tub and grill on the deck Our little dog loved laying out in the sun on the deck and running from front to back and with the enclosed railing with gate, we did not have to worry about him getting loose. If you want a quiet and secluded cabin with paved roads and driveway all the way. this is the place for you.

Owner's reply:

Thanks for the nice review. Reviews help others who are looking for a cabin understand what they may expect when they are trying to select a place to stay. Your review covered many of the things that we hope will make Apple Dumpling a great destination for all of our guests.

Perfect, conveniently located cabin in the woods.

September 8, 2013

We loved staying at Apple Dumpling! Mornings were the best with a cup of coffee while relaxing in the hot tub. We loved the location. We had something going on every day, horseback riding, white water rafting, Cade's Cove, Clingmans Dome, Dixieland Stampede, Forbidden Caverns, and walking the town of Gatlinburg. From the cabin everything was within easy driving distance. Sitting in that hot tub after that long hike up to the waterfall at Cade's Cove was awesome. The beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and we thoroughly enjoyed playing pool with the kids. I could go on and on, but I just want to make my point clear.....this cabin was the best place we have rented in a long time. We rent a home every year in a different state and this cabin is the first one we would like to visit again!!! Thank you so much for sharing your home. Every little amenity was deeply appreciated!

Owner's reply:

Thanks for the great review - it sounds like y' all had a ball! The hot tub at sun-rise is our favorite part of a stay also, especially on a cold morning with a cup of coffee. We love to hear the Turkeys moving through the woods. We hope that this will be your permanent Pigeon Forge residence and want you to know that we do offer a small discount to return guests.

A great family retreat

August 28, 2013

Dennis & Bonnye were great from the beginning of the booking process through to the follow up email upon returning home. This cabin is immaculate and spacious. Close to all the attractions but far enough way, 10 mins to the Parkway. Spacious kitchen is well stocked with laundry facilities in the utility closet, a great convenience. Hot tub too is just outside off the kitchen. Rita, Apple Dumpling Ridge's maintencance gal is great to quickly fix any issues you may have with the cabin. The teenagers loved the privacy of the loft and we loved everything being on one level. We were 2 families of 7 total with lots of room for everyone. Will definitely stay again and recommend it! Thank you Bonnye & Dennis for sharing your piece of paradise with us!

Owner's reply:

We're happy that you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your comments about the location as we have many inquiries from people who think that staying on the Parkway might be a benefit. Most of our guest love getting away from the Parkway and unwinding in the peacefulness of the mountains.

Great place and everything you need is supplied. Very private and clean. Kitchen is great. The only thing is the sulphur water, but you used bottled water. We would go back again. We brought our 2 Bichons with us and they also loved it.

Wonderful Vacation

April 6, 2012

The cabin was exceptional. It had everything we needed with the exception of cell phone service, but in the long run, it was good that the kids were not on their phones 24/7!!! We really loved the place and would definitely go back.

Owner's reply:

Thanks for the nice review. We do have cell phone reception with Sprint and Verizon, not ATT/TMobile.

American as Apple Pie

October 30, 2009

Vacationing is always a treat. To have access to a cabin like Apple Dumpling Ridge offers is next to heaven. From the spacious rooms to the grand views to the hot tub, everything was the stuff dreams are made of. All the furnishings were coordinated around a theme. Every detail was taken care of. Hiking maps on the closet door let you know where you are in relation to the area. The fireplace was so inviting and the pool table and games were relaxing. We even enjoyed watching a movie on the DVD and big screen TV. The family pictures of the owners family were a special touch. It's nice to put faces with the ones who made our stay so enjoyable. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for the time of you life in the Smokies.

The Schoolcrafts , Morgantown, Indiana Our family: Steve and Cristine Schoolcraft and our five daughters rented this cabin over spring break 2008. To put it in a nutshell- we had a blast. The cabin is beautiful and has everything our family could need plus more. We really enjoyed all of the extras that are included with this cabin (i.e. pool table, kids games, movies, hot tub etc.) With five daughters it is hard to please everyone but The Apple Dumpling cabin met and exceeded everyone's expectation's. Being so comfortable made our vacation memories the best. Go visit and read what our girls had to write in the guest book. Our week was one of pure pleasure and comfort and we will definately be back to this cabin. Thanks for the amazing memories! The Schoolcraft clan :)
Positive Rating
The Land Family , Gastonia, NC I can't begin to tell you enough how happy we were to have chosen the Apple Dumpling Cabin for our Thanksgiving 2007 vacation. I, Mom and Dad, the family dog and a family friend, felt at home from the moment we walked through the door. It was obvious that the Feiocks gave considerable thought to their guest's needs when choosing the amenities for their cabin. The cabin was well stocked with the essentials and the apple motif (which this cabin is so famous for) was tastefully executed. We thought about trying to count all of the apples, but immediately concluded that it would be next to impossible and would likely take the entire week to do so! After a full day of sightseeing and entertainment in the surrounding area, it was wonderful to come "home" to a clean, comfortable and secluded cabin where we could warm ourselves by the gas fireplace, play pool or cards, read a book, or enjoy the outdoor hot tub. The Feiocks had even prepared for our Thanksgiving stay by having the cabin decorated for the upcoming Christmas holiday - Again, I must say, they thought of everything. This was our first adventure in vacation home rental, but it certainly won't be our last. The Apple Dumpling is already on our list of 2008 vacation destinations!

April, 2005 We would like to say "Thank You" so much for opening your beautiful mountain home to us. We enjoyed it so very much. My in-laws from New York met us here and we enjoyed so many attractions together, as well as nature and your beautiful home.

Review from Heather Johnson, Indianapolis

Thanksgiving, 2005 In April, 2006, my husband, two boys (ages 2 and 4) and I plan our 3rd stay in 3 years at Apple Dumpling. It's a good place to de-stress, with the hot tub, board games, grilled steaks on the deck, etc. The boys love Pigeon Forge with it's miniature golf and go-carts and at the Black Bear Jamboree Christmas show they both had a blast dancing on stage with the cast!

Review from the Brittons, Bremen, IN April 3, 2006

Dear Feiocks,

We truly enjoyed our stay at your cabin. We brought our 3 children, 2 spouses and our grand-daughter, who is 3. Everyone thought the place was awesome! We really hated to leave... You never quite know what you're getting when you look on the internet. Your place was beyond our expectations.

2nd Review from the Cowells, 6/15/06.

Dear Feiock Family,

We finally returned to enjoy your cabin for the 2nd time. We think it's been 4 years since our last visit. The cabin is wonderful, with more decorations than before! The mystery dog (a coon hound nicknamed "Fatty Patty") paid us a visit our first day when she smelled hamburger on the grill... We went white water rafting and had a great time doing that and at Dollywood. Make sure you keep the same name for the cabin, as that is how I tracked it through the management company changes.

Review from Ron & Suzette Karpen, Wood River, IL July 4, 2007

Dennis & Bonnye,

Just wanted to personally let you know what a wonderful time we had in your Apple Dumpling cabin. We spent the week of July 2 surrounded in apple accents and loved every minute of it. We found the accomodations to be very comfortable and inviting. The cleaning service had it spotless and everything was in perfect working order. Thanks again. P.S. The fat dog (aka Fatty Patty) came for a visit. It's so cute, but its murder on your plantings!

Review by Janet Hubbard, Powell, TN

We spent Christmas 2007 at Apple Dumpling and it was wonderful. The cabin was very clean, neat and well maintained. Pictures don't do it justice! It is so nice and homey..we counted 102 apples in master bedroom and bath...ran out of time for counting the rest of the cabin. It certainly was a holiday to remember for me, my two grown kids and my 96 yr young Mom....she LOVED it!!! Said she never had a Christmas like this and never thought she'd get to stay in a cabin in the mountains! We hope to come back again. Thank you Dennis and Bonnye for sharing your wonderful cabin with us!!
