Views of Burnt Trees

May 31, 2013

Owner never called to tell us about the fire on March 17, 2013 that consumed every house on the street except this one. He offered no compensation nor apology. Constant noise from clean up/construction M-F. Quiet on the weekends. AC unit is not large enough to cool the house properly and on a day when it reached only mid 80s condensation dripped for hours from the ceiling. Trying to avoid the drips we noticed mold on the ceiling. Informed owner who just seemed to blow it off and even tried to blame it on us for leaving the pool door open, which we had left closed for 2 days. The kitchen has very little essentials, having no measuring spoons and only a 2/3cup measure. Pots and pans are old and cheap and dishes are chipped. The Bathroom was very dark and the bath mat is stained and nasty. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

Heavenly Get-away!

December 12, 2012

We booked this cabin to celebrate our 30 year wedding anniversary, it was all that we had hoped for and more, the cabin was truly a perfect get-away for us, it was clean, and well equiped...the sceney and the surroundings were beautiful, those mountains....what can I say! We would recommend this cabin to our friends and family! Booking this trip through Vacation Home Rentals proved to be a very positive experience as well.

Best vacation I have ever had

March 26, 2012

The cabin is beautiful, with so mush to do, you never have to go out. Only disappointment is no internet. Would have definately made it easier to find things in the area to do and being that I am in school, would have been nice to be able to do a little homework while I was there. Overall, it was amazing. Clean, well kept, beautiful views, and very private. Would definately go back anytime.

We have been to the mountains fourteen times and have always stayed in a cabin. This is by far the best cabin we have ever stayed in. I would recommend this cabin to anyone that wants a very relaxing vacation.

smokey get away.

Wanting something different other than a coastal vacation, decided to hit up this cabin in Tennessee. Was very peaceful and quite. Found the area to have a lot of tourist in town, but wasn't overcrowded. Plenty of resturaunts. The cabin its self was fine. No complaints. Didn't see any wild animals though. Heard some strange noises at night sometimes. We would come back again.

Not enough bang for the buck

July 29, 2011

My biggest disappointment was the dust (everywhere). We paid very good money and had to clean. It was overwhelming for someone who likes dust-free fixtures, walls, and furniture. This was advertised as "secluded". The seclusion only existed in the cabin. I did not like the "resort" atmosphere. Neighbors could see into the window over the bath tub (this could be corrected easily with the proper window treatments). At night the blinds allowed too much to be seen from the outside of the cabin by passing cars. (This also could be corrected with the proper fittings across the front of the cabin) Finally, we had to pay a "resort fee" but did not use any "resort" facility or ammenity. On the other hand, the decorations were nice though dusty because a lot of things were cloth like rugs, throws, placemats etc... The live plant in the living room added a nice touch but, was full of cob webs. Here's a marvel idea, use the "cleaning fee" to clean the place.

Great Honeymoon!

September 10, 2010

Our second honeymoon at Swim n Bear was great. The cabin was absolutely perfect! We spent far more time at the cabin than in all of the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge. We had everything we needed right there at 1226 Bird Nest Way!

We stayed here for one week of our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it! If I could do it over, I do stay here again! After a hot day "abroad" it was great to return "home" and be refreshed by a cool swim in the pool. With all the cooking utensils provided, we didn't need to leave the cabin unless we wished to.

Beautiful - Pictures don't do justice!

August 9, 2009

This cabin is nestled in the side of a mountain with a beautiful view. We loved everything about this cabin. Family of 5 (3 kids, ages 7, 1 & infant). The pool is very nice when kids are bored, and you don't feel like getting out. The owner is very nice, we give this place 5 stars.
