“Pitkin Colorado cabin”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2016

To my knowledge this cabin is the nicest place to stay in Pitkin. It was beautiful and clean. We would highly recommend staying here. The views were spectacular. The owners were very helpful and considerate answering any questions in a timely manner. Cabin does get rather warm in the daytime without shades on the floor to ceiling Windows. We were disappointed that the main deck in the front of the house was not usable as well as the hot tub. The kitchen is very well equipped with pots, pans, baking dishes, dinnerware and spices. The beds could be updated for more comfort. We brought a memory foam topper and slept comfortably. The cabin was missing some interior trim pieces. We had plenty of water even with doing laundry and running the dishwasher. It was a very good experience! Would stay again.

“A Piece of heaven”

This vacation was a true getaway. I was looking to get away from Mainstream USA and with this cabin, that is exactly what I got. Mike and Carol have done a great job ensuring everything you need is there for you. I never had so much peace and quite. Very Relaxing. The views are spectacular. When I arrived, Rachel and Cory were there waiting to load your things and take you to your winter wonderland. Very friendly and willing to help in any way. The trails were perfect for snowmobiling. I will be back for sure. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a perfect getaway, with amazing scenery and a true breath of fresh air. Many thanks to the whole crew for a wonderful vacation. Thanks for sharing your home with me.

“WOW....what a vacation!”

We arrived at the large "cabin" with everything in order. We all chose our bedroom and baths. Although the layout is different, there were plenty of beds to occupy with sofa beds to use if wanted. The kitchen had ALL appliances large and small required in any kitchen. They provided well in linens, towels, kitchen soap, bathroom items (soap, tissue paper, bath gel, cleaning supplies, etc.). We did miss getting to use the large deck off the livingroom but this is something Mike and Carol had informed us prior to arrival (in the process of redoing). We enjoyed the gazebo but at the time of year, we did have some mosquitos, so limited our outdoor stay at night. The cabin is located in great spot to take off daily on our ATV rides (Taylor Reservoir, Hancock Pass, Alpine Pass, Alpine Tunnel, Tin Cup, St. Elmo, etc.) Mike & Carol continued to answer any questions we had prior to our stay and encouraged us to call if we had any questions. There were 8 adults on this trip and although there is a water tank that one must be aware of....we had PLENTY of water and didn't have to request a fill up. The people in Pitkin are friendly and many hang out at the Silver Plume store daily....the store carries items that you run out of or forgot to bring. It is the only place to get fill up gas. We had a little mishap on Hancock Pass where the ATV tipped over and no major injuries but a local EMT (Levi) happened to be at Silver Plume store and more than offered assurance and advice. Very kind and helpful. THANK YOU Levi! (Hope I got the name correctly). We did see very little wildlife around the cabin but the views of mountains were awesome to see early morning to late at night. Moon shining brightly over the mountains at night was very magical and serene. If we go back to this area again, we would gladly try to book this cabin again from Mike and Carol. Thanks to them we went well prepared and fixed all our breakfast and dinners at the cabin....did not lack ANYTHING while at cabin. Wish we could have used large front deck but as builders we realize that maintenance has to be done on a timely basis. All you had to do is use gazebo or alternate side deck. Once again...great trip, great cabin, great owners to work with and great friendly people in the area. If you are planning a trip to Pitkin area...this is the place to stay!

“Awesome house”

We loved the house with the blue roof. Enough room for everyone and we were able to ride straight from the house to any trail we wanted. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. Already booked our vacation for next year.

“Great Family Vacation”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2014

I Can't say enough good things about this Cabin. We were there with a large group of family members to ride UTV/ATV's. It is a perfect area to ride from. The Cabin was clean and very nice. The views are awesome and we seen Wildlife every day from the deck. The owners were great to work with and were always glad to answer any questions we had. The Silverplume store in Pitkin was very close for refueling our SXS's daily and for getting supplies we had forgotten. We would recommend this cabin to everyone. You will need 4x4 to get to the cabin if you are pulling trailers in but it is worth it when you get there! The Hesterlee Family

“Incredible Stay”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2014

Highly recommend this place. It is clean, spacious and the amenities are phenomenal. The cabin views are second to none overlooking the Quartz Creek valley and town of Pitkin. The floor to ceiling windows enable you to enjoy the view from just about anywhere in the place! Perfect for large family gatherings. Just be sure to ask for directions to take the "back way" to the property if you don't have 4 wheel drive.

“Top Rated Experience”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2014

From the start this was an amazing experience. The house has some amazing views, very spacious, and a lot of fun nearby. Caught some fish in the nearby pond, watched the sun set, and the sun rise from the large windows. Fire pit was a hit, and coffee on the large deck was an amazing experience. This place is great for large families, with plenty of sleeping room, and areas for quiet time. The house is clean, and spectacular! No complaints, great experience.
