Reviews for this vacation cottage rental in Plymouth, Vermont
San Diego, CA
November 15, 2015
We have stayed in many rentals by owners, but this is by far the best one. It is evident that the owner really loves this place. We have stayed at this cottage many times, so when the owner asked me to write a review I was happy. If you are looking for a quaint and quintessential stay, this is it! Unless, of course, you want the same week we do. Seriously, the cottage is full of unpretentious creature comforts that make us feel comfy and cozy. It is immaculate and well-organized. The kitchen is decked out with anything you could want (better than my own home) with an added bonus of a pantry stocked with fun whimsical platters, serving trays, and unique everything. There was even real silverware and cloth napkins! The kitchen is efficient, and "user-friendly". A gas stove was a plus as I love to cook and plenty of refrigerator space! We love having an additional kitchen upstairs so that our teenage kids and friends can make their own pizzas etc. The bedrooms are huge and the bed linens are high quality. We felt like we were in a five-star hotel while we slept. I really need to find out where to get those sheets! We enjoyed the fireplace so much because it is rare that you can find a place with a wood-burning fireplace and so appreciated the abundance of wood in the nearby woodshed. A nightly bonfire was the rule after kayaking and swimming every day. The lake beach is the best. It's private with easy dock access. That dock is spectacular. The kids love the floating dock anchored out in the lake as well. We enjoyed walks on the hiking trails and dirt road which we learned is an old road from the Revolutionary War. Now it makes sense that Lake Amherst is named after General Jeffrey Amherst. I must brush up on my American history. I could go on....The owner is responsive and caring. We had some questions and Alecia was more than helpful. We weren't disappointed and you be won't either.
Thank you Pam! Always a pleasure to have you return each year and I'm happy you finally experienced the foliage. It really was spectacular this year, wasn't it? I only hope that other travelers will love the cottage as much as you do. The sheets are from various places of high quality: Anichini, Company C, Laura Ashley, an Ralph Lauren to name a few. I think you had the Anichini when you were there.
