Description of the Point Arena vacation guesthouse rental
Built in 1865, the historic Wharf Master's residence at the Wharf Master's Inn is the oldest building in Point Arena. Located adjacent to the Point Arena/Stornetta unit of the California Coastal National Monument (named in 2014 by the New York Times as the #3 most beautiful place in the world!) the Wharf Master's house is the perfect home base for exploration of the area or a relaxing rest from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Serving as the centerpiece and namesake for the Wharf Master's Inn, the house commands a majestic view of Arena Cove and the Point Arena Pier. With all of the amenities of a hotel, this three bedroom, two bath private home is the perfect place for a family vacation, reunion or, small group retreat. Mendocino County is a prime destination for weddings as well and we constructed a beautiful private deck onto the house with this in mind.
Decorated with authentic antique furnishings and modern amenities, the Wharf Master's house is a perfect blend of old meets new! Included are a full kitchen with an oven, gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, pots, pans, cutlery, utensils and a kitchen table with chairs. There is a formal dining room and separate sunken living room featuring a gas fireplace, air conditioner/heater, satellite television, full-sized sofa, plush rocker/recliner and direct access to your private front porch. There are three private porches or decks complete with a propane grill, benches, tables and chairs enough to entertain a small gathering.
The three bedrooms include a lock off suite option downstairs with it's own private entrance and features a queen bed, private sitting area and a huge bathroom with an over-sized jetted tub with separate shower, eco-friendly fireplace, divan and access to the front porch. An upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and walk-in closet and, across the hall the third bedroom is furnished with two queen beds and a view of Arena Cove and the wharf. The second bath is located at the bottom of the stairs between the upstairs bedrooms and the sunken living room and is equipped with a glassed shower enclosure, sink and toilet.
The Wharf Master's Inn itself offers an additional 25 rooms most of which feature private balconies, jetted tubs with separate showers, eco-friendly fireplaces, microwaves, fridges, and queen beds with feather bed toppers. A continental breakfast buffet is available daily to guests of the Inn and Wharf Master's House alike and daily maid service is also available to all as well.
