Underway in West Porlock is a beautiful detached property in an enviable position with breathtaking views of Porlock Bay. This delightful holiday property is presented to a very high standard offering comfortable bedrooms and spacious living areas for up to 7 guests. Underway in West Porlock is positioned between the delightful village of Porlock and the picturesque harbour at Porlock Weir. With magnificent sea views across Porlock Bay towards Hurlstone Point and Bossington Hill, the house is a great place to spend your family holiday or catching up with friends. It is equally well-suited as a base for exploring Exmoor National Park and this stunning and part of the country.

Whilst staying at Underway, there is plenty to do. Enjoy the natural wonders of Exmoor and the dramatic coastline in this region. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor, with highlights such as Dunkery Beacon and Tarr Steps, an ancient clapper bridge. The pretty Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, which are famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), Valley of the Rocks and the famous funicular cliff railway, are also well worth a visit. Looking towards Minehead, visitors here can go back in time on the scenic West Somerset Steam Railway, or visit the enchanting, medieval Dunster Castle (NT), with its beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and watermill, all making for an interesting day out. Further afield, the North Devon beaches of Ilfracombe, Combe Martin and Woolacombe are about an hours drive.

The kitchen is open plan to the dining area with french doors opening towards the rear garden, it's a lovely light and spacious room fully fitted with all modern conveniences, including electric Falcon range cooker. To the front of the property are two sitting rooms with views over the garden, both have televisions and there is also a DVD player. Also on the ground floor to the rear is a small utility with washing machine and tumble dryer, and a separate toilet.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor; at the front of the house with views towards the coast is a double bedroom (super-king sized bed) with en-suite bathroom comprising, shower over bath, toilet and hand basin; there's also a twin bedroom; and with views over the rear garden is the single bedroom. There's a family bathroom on the first floor, with shower, toilet and hand basin, plus an additional separate toilet.

The master bedroom on the second floor has a super-king sized double bed and en-suite bathroom comprising shower, hand basin, toilet and roll top bath.

Heating and electricity are included in the price of the accommodation. The property is fitted with central heating throughout, which can be adjusted to suit your preference.

Bed linen and towels are provided.

There is a delightful garden at Underway, including a woodland garden laid out by the noted horticulturalist Norman Hadden, who lived at Underway for many years and cultivated a wide variety of unusual plants, several of which now bear his name or that of the house. The lawned area to the front of the property is complete with table and chairs for making the most of that view! There is an additional smaller lawn to the rear of the cottage too.

Porlock is a very quick drive or a short walk away and has a good range of local shops, restaurants and pubs. Porlock Weir is about the same distance in the opposite direction, also well worth a visit.​

There is ample private parking for up to 4 cars at Underway to the rear of the house. One gravelled area inside the gates at the end of the garden, and a second fenced area just outside the garden perimeter, clearly signed as parking for Underway.
