About the area

Cabarita Lookout is located 14 miles east of Ocho Rios and about 4 miles west of Port Maria. It is adjacent to Noel Coward's famous ''Firefly'' Estate in St. Mary. "Firefly," Noel Coward's (famed English playwright) estate is next door to Cabarita Lookout. Simply walk through the gate between the two properties and enter the world of glamorous movie stars of the 60's! Stop in for high tea in the afternoon, tour Noel Coward's home and see Captain Henry Morgan's Lookout from Buccaneer Days. Take Cutty's nature tour of the neighborhood, learning of local flora and fauna. Visit Mason Hall Primary School and see the local primary school education first hand. If you or your children want to volunteer some help, they staff would welcome you with open arms! From the rustic Pablo's down by Little Bay to the gourmet fare at Toscanini's in Tower Isle, there are many diverse restaurants to choose from. For lunches, Hermosa Cove and Bamboo Blu are always fun!

“Breathtaking Cabarita Outlook!”

Reviewed 13 Mar 2017

Our first visit to Jamaica and we could not have hoped for a more perfect, comfortable place to stay than at the villa at Cabarita Outlook! Cutty, our driver and our man of all needs, and Sharon our fabulous cook were the frosting on the cake. We enjoyed the phenomenal views, relaxing at the poolside and even had a wonderful massage arranged for us right at the Villa. The pictures on the website are no exaggeration....it is as beautiful as you see. We visited the Blue Hole and had an awesome time going from waterfall to waterfall and swimming in the "blue hole" . Cutty took us to a white- sand beach which was magnificent! The staff waited on us while we laid in our lounge chars.. bringing us any drinks/food we wanted - what a treat! There were no crowds -- as if it was all arranged for our personal pleasure. Thanks to Pam and Ed for creating such an oasis and sharing it with all of us.

“The place to stay on Jamaica's North Coast”

Where do we begin? As first time visitors to Jamaica, we couldn't have hoped for a more perfect, comfortable place to stay than Cabarita Lookout. Sharon's food was fabulous, and Cutty, our driver became my husband's new BFF. Sitting on the pool deck, watching the sunrise was a sight to behold. We took in Dunn's River Falls, The Blue Hole, Mystic Mountain and were even lucky enough to help baby sea turtles make thier way to the ocean. When we weren't busy being tourists, we were relaxing by the gorgeous pool. It may have only been a week, but the memories will last a lifetime. We will most definitely make a return trip.

This is an experiece you do not want to miss. It is not anything like the tourist locations. This is secluded and private. Cutty and Sharon will make your stay remarkable. The sunrises are awesome. The food is terrific. The wind will blow the cobwebs from your sole and rejuvinate your spirit!

December 31, 2014. Happy New Year's Eve! So far Jamaica has been amazing! We're all so happy we got to do this. Your home has given us quite the wonderful experience. The views are out of this world! Cutty is my new best friend and we are taking home with us many of Sharon's recipes! My favorite part of our trip was hiking to the waterfall at Black Sands Beach and feeling like one of the locals. Everyone was wonderful and your house was fantastic.

We simply do not have the words to express how wonderful our week at Cabarita Lookout has been. The house is amazing, the surroundings incredible and Cutty, Sharon and Natalie simply out of this world. Friends for life and then some. We will be back next year for sure.

Cabarita lookout is amazing. The awesome view is enough to make you never want to leave. Cutty, Sharon and Natalie were the best. Our wedding was a great success. Thanks for all the hard work to make it that way. It was an amazing week that will never be forgotten. No problem, mon.

This is the best vacation I have ever taken. The sunrises were awesome and the views the best! The house is all I expected and more. Cutty and Sharon were great! The food was delicious and the ride entertaining. Don't change anything!

From the amazing meals to the Black Sand Beach, I have had the vacation of my life. Sharon has been an absolutely incredible chef; Cutty is my new best friend; and the Blisses have made the past two weeks something that I will be telling stories about for years to come. Jamaica (and the view from the house) is BREATHTAKING. A home away from home is an understatement, I truly feel that I have found something that allows me to forget the worries of home and enjoy the beauty of my surroundings, which is not complete without mentioning the people of Jamaica, by far the most welcoming people I have ever encountered. Pam and Ed have made my time in the awe inspiring country that much more amazing. If I am fortunate enough to travel back to this country there is no question that I will be staying at Cabarita Lookout! Best wishes and many, many thanks.

I have found my new home away from home. From the moment I stepped off the plane here and arrived at Cabarita Lookout I felt I belonged in Jamaica - its welcoming climate, landscape, and especially people delight all visitors. My favorite part of this trip was wandering into Port Maria and discovering its treasures. The vegetable market makes for the best meals and fresh fish can be purchased from the local fishermen and the oceanside bar is a great place to enjoy music. The Blisses are wonderfully accommodating and delightful in their stories. When I'm next able to come to this island I'll look forward to staying at Cabarita Lookout and enjoy the spectacular views. Thanks for a great trip!

Heavenly Bliss!
There are no words to describe how wonderful our vacation was. We had a group of six that included myself, my husband, two son's (21 & 17) as well as my Mother and Mother-in-Law and we absolutley LOVED your house. From the time we met up with Cutty, to the arrival at Cabarita Lookout, where we were graciously met by Sharon and Devon, to the final airport dropoff, we were treated like royalty. I must say that we were very impressed with the house and that it that looked EXACTLY like the pictures. Sharon and Cutty were so nice and welcoming that it was a breeze to make arrangements for dinner and sightseeing. The views are spectacular. Each morning, we awoke to see the sunrise from out private balcony and each morning we'd find Cutty quietly going about his routine. Zeko, the "guard" dog, was an added pleasure as my Mother-in-Law was missing her own dog. We loved being away from the tourist areas and relished our time in the real Jamaica. As my husband and Mother-in-Law are natives, we had a chance to visit family that we'd not seen in years. The relaxing atmosphere, welcoming staff, beautiful house, and magnificent views were wonderful. The food was amazing as Sharon is an excellent cook. The traditional breakfast of ackee and saltfish, not to mention rasta eggs, boiled bananas, fresh pineapple and mango and johnnycakes paired with guava jelly were delicious. My youngest, who celebrated his birthday while there, had a dinner feast which included lobster, brown stewed snapper, fried plantain, rice and peas, garlic potatoes, tossed salad and his favorite, chocolate cake. Yum! Mind you, the seafood was freshly caught that same morning. We did manage to do a bit more than eat. We enjoyed Reggae Beach (Bamboo Beach), Ocho Rios, drives along the coast and of course FirefIy. We even managed to sneak in a trip to Devon House. I loved every moment and hated that the week only consisted of 7 days. I'd say that this is among the top two of my all time favorite vacations and I LOVE to vacation. I will definitely be returning and have already shared Cabarita Lookout with family and friends. Pam thank you and your husband for allowing us to share your beautiful home. You were always available to answer all of my questions, via phone and email thus taking away any doubts that I may have had. Your home is truly Heavenly Bliss!

Great Spot to Relax!
We had a fantastic time at Cabarita Lookout. Your home is lovely and what an incredible view!!! Cutty, Sharon and Devon were great. Cutty was so helpful planning our days and driving us around. We went to the Black Sands Beach/Waterfall, ate at Susies twice, went to the Reggae Beach and Craft Market, took a tour of Firefly and just spent some days relaxing by the pool. Sharons meals were perfect. We had three big fish eaters and three meat eaters and she was very accommodating. I loved the Rum Bread Pudding!

A True Jamaican Experience!
Our vacation at Cabarita Lookout was simply amazing. Let's start with the scenery, the villa's unobstructed/unspoiled view of Jamaica's rugged north coast was incredible to say the least! Firefly is suppose to have one of the best views on the island and views from the tranquil verandas on this property are a very close second. Our most memorable times of this vacation was how the personal touches of the villa and staff made it seem like a home away from home from the first time we arrived at the property until the day we left. What I was hoping for was a vacation environment where my busy family could spend quality time together while experiencing the wonderful people and sites of Jamaica. It exceeded all our expectations, whether sharing another great meal at the start or end of a fun filled day or simply talking on the deck well into the night about the experiences of our daily trips. This quality family time spent at the villa was priceless. Cutty was an excellent friend/driver with a wealth of knowledge. He took us on many excursions to both well known tourist locations, as well as less frequented/known attractions that showed us the real beauty of Jamaica and its communities. Sharon cooked amazing home cooked meals which included many local dishes...everything was so good! Our trip to the local grocery store for food and liquor for the week was also very reasonable, not much more than a couple decent meals at an average restaurant. This was the first time we tried a vacation like this and it was definitely the best vacation we have been on and would highly recommend it. The added touch of the villa's outstanding staff and transport allowed for an unique cultural experience for the entire family.

The Perfect Getaway!
My husband and I just returned from a week at Cabarita Lookout where we stayed with friends. I have never had a better vacation and I will never stay anywhere else in Jamaica. In my opinion, Cabarita Lookout is the perfect place for families or groups of friends. The view from the terrace is breathtaking, with panoramic views of the ocean and the rugged coastline. Pictures just don't do it justice; you have to see it for yourself. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and the pool is gorgeous. It is really a tropical paradise. The staff is so accommodating and pleasant. Miss Sharon and Natalie made us the most delicious breakfasts and dinners. We had Cutty pick up fresh mahi mahi and lobster for dinner for two nights and Miss Sharon made curried goat and chicken stir fry two other nights. I strongly suggest eating dinner at the villa as much as possible. Miss Sharon is an excellent cook. Cutty also had many good suggestions for activities and drove us wherever we needed to go. I strongly suggest going to Reggae beach, which is between Ocho Rios and Port Maria. It costs 10 dollars US to get in, but you get a beach chair and great service right where you are sitting. We bought fresh coconuts with rum in them and had an excellent lunch of jerk chicken and fresh fish. It had such a great atmosphere that we went there twice. My other favorite activity was going to the Blue Hole, which is a series of freshwater waterfalls and deep pools of the most beautiful blue color. Our guide Jason lead us around and was so friendly and helpful. There is a rope swing, a cave under a waterfall, and waterfall you can climb down. It was really fun and it is relatively unknown so there were almost no tourists when we went (as opposed to Dunn River Falls which is always busy but still very fun). I loved that we were able to stay somewhere away from the resorts and that we got to see more of Jamaica and its culture. It really was the most perfect vacation and I will definitely be back.

Love and a piece of heaven!
It gives us so much pleasure to write this review and we wanted to take our time to do so because we had such an awesome vacation. The best one ever!!! and we do this 3 to 4 times a year. Thanks Pam and Ed. We typically do the all inclusive thing and were getting quite bored, so we decided to try a villa and found Cabarita Lookout. We visited in late Nov. early Dec. of 2013. The views on this villa is out of this world. They should rename the villa "Heaven's Gateway". When the moon hits the ocean it felt like we were transcended to another world. The pictures doesn't do the villa justice. the real thing is so much better. Very relaxing for both small and large groups, with wrap around balcony for you to see Jamaica miles away. The staff was most attentive, but not overbearing. Cutty our driver was awesome, awesome, awesome, and so respectful. Cutty made sure that our every need was tended to. We did not miss or 5 star dining with Chef Sharon cooking and food presentation. The food was so good we must have gained a couple of pounds from eating do much. Sharon tantalized our taste buds with every fresh ingredients, fresh catch of the day, to amazing desserts, natural drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Not many villas offers car service. But having Cutty and transportation made or trip even so much better. We visited parts of the island that we have never seen before. We went to so many off the beaten path experiences, but there were days when we did nothing at all and just enjoyed the Caribbean breeze, slipped on a cocktail, taking a dip in the pool at the sunrise and then the sunset sipping on a cocktail with no worries in the world for now. If you're reading this review I would highly recommend this villa for a first time experience or a return experience. Irie...no problem at all!

Words cannot describe the awesome time we had at your villa. Everything was perfect. The villa is lovely and very inviting and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the amazing views. Sharon was the best and her meals were delicious. We could not wait until the next meal. Paula was also great and very helpful. Cutty was our “go-to-guy”! He was always there for us and met our every need. He is the heart and soul of this place. You both are very blessed that you have such a wonderful home and that you share it with others. We will definitely be back. This place is a special part of the world. Our younger daughter got engaged on Wednesday at the villa. That made it alll the more special. We will see you in the future.
