Looking to host a gathering, prepare for a wedding, or simply find a place to relax and enjoy your family? Why not rent a spacious vacation home, where you can have plenty of room to connect with those important to you?

My vacation home is a 1925 Craftsman bungalow situated close-in in northeast Portland near Peninsula Park, Kennedy School and the Lloyd District and just seven minutes from the Pearl District downtown. Located in a neighborhood full of historic homes with beautiful American architecture, my home has original charm and character with many windows typical of homes of the early 20th century.

The 13 x 27 foot living room contains two separate spaces for you to gather with friends and family. This makes it easy to engage in those smaller, more personal settings while still being able to see and talk with one another. A wood-burning fireplace provides a cozy backdrop for conversation and games. The living room is bright and airy with three large picture windows. The location on a corner lot provides plenty of natural light. There are a total of fourteen on-street and off-street parking spaces!

I want you and your family, including your littlest ones, to feel at home during your stay. That’s why there are a variety of games, entertainment options, and baby toys available to you. Central air keeps your family cool on those warmer days, while the home security system keeps your family safe. Plus, my vacation home is smoke free.

We all know that families love to gather around food, and this vacation home rental is great for wedding rehearsal dinners and small receptions. You are allowed (encouraged, even!) to throw one celebration for up to fifty people during your time here. Place settings and luxurious Turkish Towels are provided.

For other meals, you have a full kitchen, including cooking utensils and spices, ready for your use and can enjoy a family dinner in the formal dining room or a barbecue on the back patio.

Don’t want to cook? That’s okay! Take everyone out for a meal in one of our fabulous restaurants. Catering is also available. If you need a suggestion, don’t hesitate to ask. I consider myself a foodie and am very well connected to the restaurants in the area. I’d love to point you toward one you’ll enjoy!

I encourage you and your family to get out and enjoy the historic homes and gardens in the neighborhood, as the Piedmont District is popular with walkers and cyclists. Bikes can be stored securely in the detached garage. You can also enjoy the quiet neighborhood from the covered front porch.

I know that pets are like family, too! While you are welcome to bring your dog with you to my vacation home, I ask that you leave other pets in the care of others.

About the area

The Piedmont District is a wonderful tree-lined neighborhood of many older historic homes. The Piedmont District is popular with walkers and cyclists. The Alberta Arts District is within a short walk. In fact, you can walk to many places: the Historic Mississippi Avenue District, New Seasons Market, and the North Williams Corridor. Plus, there is public transit just half a block away, which can take you to downtown Portland or the Rose Quarter within minutes. The home is adjacent to the Piedmont District, a wonderful walking neighborhood with many older historic homes. The home is ideally located within 12 short blocks of four trendy commercial districts, including the nationally-recognized Alberta Arts District with twenty blocks of art galleries, restaurants and cafes. In addition it is nearby the Historic Mississippi District, the booming North William Corridor including the popular New Seasons Market and the up-and-coming Dekum Triangle which includes Breakside Brewery (famous for craft beer). A large grocery, Walgreen's and Starbucks are all within one block and the Peninsula Park Rose Garden is eight blocks away. Breakside Brewery, Old town Pizza, Firehouse, Catalina's, Podnah's Pit BBQ, Helser's (top 5 breakfast spot in Portland!), Salt and Straw (top 10 ice cream parlor in U.S.!), Petit Provence, Radio Room, Tin Shed, Por Que No Taqueria, Lincoln restaurant.

Getting around

TriMet bus #6 bus stop is within a short block with easy access to downtown via the Max light rail system at the Convention Center.
