High on the Princeville bluff on the North Shore of beautiful Kauai, lies Hanalei Bay Resort. Stroll the 22 acres of orchids and palm tree lined paths and you will find my island home, HBR 4222. This recently remodeled one bedroom is something special. When you first walk in the front door Bali Hai will greet you. This is the mountain range made famous in the movie South Pacific. I promise the view will take your breath away. You can see the ocean and mountains from every room. This ocean view one bedroom condo is decorated with the discriminating renters in mind. This isn't your usual old bamboo furniture rental. I have high end Tommy Bahama furniture, specially selected granite counters from Brazil, high end bathroom features, local art, and all the beach toys and kitchen supplies you need to make you feel right at home. Hanalei Bay Resort amenities include a lagoon style salt water pool, hot tub under waterfalls, 8 tennis courts, pro on site for clinics and lessons, a beach path to Puu Poa Beach (shared with the St Regis Hotel), full time front desk staff and concierge services, and the newly opened Happy Talk Lounge is there for your lunch and dinner pleasure. Hanalei Town is a short drive away for more dining options (BarAcuda is my favorite North Shore restaurant). Local activities within 10 mintues include golf, snorkeling, surfing, kayaking, hiking and garden tours. In the summer take a boat tour of the Napali coastline right from Hanalei.
I cater to my guests needs and requests and unlike a property manager who closes her doors on weekends and doesn't answer your calls, I am always available to help answer questions or concerns.
Check out the over 50 reviews on Trip Advisor and I am happy to offer referrals upon request.
Please consider my Kauai home to be your home away from home. I will welcome you with aloha.
Can also be rented as a studio (HBR 4221 @$179/nt for 2017 and a two bedroom 4221-2 @$399/nt) Let me know when inquiring.

My fiancé and I recently vacationed at Hanalei Bay Resort and our experience was amazing. The staff was very warm and welcoming. Immediately after our arrival, we were escorted with our luggage to our rental. The first thing we noticed when we walked into the condo was the view. Absolutely breathtaking!! From every room in the condo, you have another breathtaking view. The owner, Joan, did a fabulous job decorating. You can tell she put a lot of time and effort in picking out the best tile, cabinets, etc. Being new to the island, Joan was very helpful and knowledgeable with where to go and what to do. I could've spent the entire vacation at their pool with the lava rock waterfall, especially Mai Tai Mondays. This by far, was the best vacation I've been on. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

My family of 4 (two teen age sons) stayed in unit #4222 & #4221 at the end of May, 2015. We ended up arriving early and the front desk was very helpful. Our unit was not quite ready (since we were very early) but the #4221 was ready, so they let us store our luggage in the room. Their shuttle service took all of our luggage and the 4 of us to our unit (no cars are allowed on the property). Once the bell service got everything unloaded, the main part of our room was clean and ready, several hours early. The maid service left us with extra coffee pods for the Keurig in #4221. They were very nice! I wanted to unpack but also wanted a cold beverage. My husband ran up to the sundries shop (next to the front desk) and bought a couple of cold beers. After we relaxed and enjoyed the amazing view from ALL of the rooms, we decided to walk down to the St. Regis. Loved that we were close enough to walk down and enjoy the beach. Their is shuttle service up and down to the beach but we preferred to walk. We ended up walking over to Hideaways Pizza and then walked back to HBR after dinner. The kitchen and both bathrooms have recently been remodeled and are lovely! The kitchen had everything we could possible need (AND THEN SOME) and the unit was super comfortable. My boys loved having #4221 all to themselves. It's open to the rest of the unit but is also rented as a stand alone hotel room. They loved having their "own space" including a microwave, mini-frig (which I stocked with cold drinks for them) and coffee maker (yes, they drink coffee). There is A/C in both bedrooms and the living room and though we did not need it for most of our stay, there was one day we were really glad we had it. There is a nice built-in desk in the living room where my husband could set up easily (he travels to Kauai on business). The front closet has a bunch of toys including boogie boards, beach chairs, ice chest and snorkel gear. There is a TV in each room which was great for us since 3 of us wanted to watch a movie while my older son worked on school work in the living room. We ended up using the flat screen TV in #4221 to watch a movie and it was quite comfortable for the 3 of us and we could close off the door to not disturb my older son. The views from every room were amazing but waking up to that view was perfect. #4221 also has a great view and nice lanai. We ended up cooking breakfasts in, packing a picnic lunch and eating dinners out. The pool is super nice and we enjoyed hanging.

I love to travel and since there are so many wonderful places I have yet to visit, I never wanted to go back to the same place twice...until I stayed in this Condo 4222 at HBR. I just recently returned from my record breaking second trip (LOL), and I'm actually already planning a third trip because this is my happy place. There is no better way to enjoy the paradise that is Hanalei than from this condo. Every morning, I woke up from a fabulous sleep on the super comfortable bed and opened the drapes magnificent views then sauntered into the kitchen (the granite counter tops are to die for - I'm obsessed with the beautiful & unique green color) to make myself and coffee before heading out to the lanai. Not only is the condo itself amazing, the entire grounds are fabulous as well - we enjoyed either the resort's beach or the pool every day and many nights we went to the fire pit for the most magnificent sunset views. If you can possibly drag yourself away from the resort to enjoy the rest of the island, you'll find you're conveniently located to shopping and restaurants in Hanalei and a wide variety of other activities like zip lining, kayaking, horseback riding & golf. I seriously can't imagine a more perfect accommodation. We'll be back soon!

There was a lot of self-imposed pressure on me to pick the right place to celebrate our 30th anniversary, so I looked at many, many options in Hanalei Bay. If you're going through the same process right now, I can assure you that you've found the right condo. This condo has amazing views, has gorgeous finishes, and is exceptionally well-equipped. Joan was especially helpful in planning many components of this surprise trip in addition to the accommodations. The experience of sitting on the lanai for both morning breakfasts and cocktail hour is beyond description, and we look forward to a return trip. STOP LOOKING....just sayin'.
If you are looking for the perfect North Shore Kauai Experience Hanalei Bay resort is the right choice. Situated with a glorious view of Bali Hai you feel as though you stepped on to a Kauai movie set. The spectacular color variation of the sky, ocean and hills is breathtaking. The beautifully appointed condo has everything the traveler needs and much more. Kitchen is loaded with every appliance, pots, pans and dishware one could imagine. A luxurious master suite features top of the line furnishings and fixtures. The private adjoining lanai includes the great view and comfy lounge chairs. The large lanai off the living room is perfect for entertaining. Joan has created a true Hawaiian experience the moment you step inside. Careful attention is given to every detail of the authentic décor and furnishings. You will also have access to all the resort amenities, pools, tennis courts, beaches and more.

My husband and I wanted a special place to celebrate our 45th anniversary. From the minute we walked through the door of the condo and saw the view we felt immediately at home and knew we had chosen the right condo for us. The view from the lanai was breathtaking, the condo was beautifully furnished and immaculate, everything we would need for our eight day stay was there plus more. We appreciated the use of golf carts to help transport our luggage to the condo for us and for trips back and forth to the beach. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The Bar opened while we were there and we enjoyed an evening dinner during sunset over Bali Hai and listening to the local band. The only problem we had was with parking as with the opening of the bar there was often a lack of parking spaces for hotel guests returning in the evening after dinner. The staff were doing their best to assist guests to find a spot and hopefully in the future will be able to sort out this problem. We enjoyed working with Joan, she was eager to assist us in any way she could and even kept us informed of surf advisory for the north shore during our stay. Thank you Joan, your home is beautiful and we only wish we could have stayed much longer! We are hoping to return again, perhaps for our 50th anniversary!
