We spent the last week of August here (2 adults, 3 kids) and absolutely loved it. The home is warm and welcoming and very child- and dog-friendly (we don't have dogs but I noticed dog leashes in a drawer, a dog bed, water bowls, etc). Our children loved the jacuzzi, the various stuffed animals, the nature/animal-themed decor and little unexpected touches, and the porch swing. The family pictures, many books, and well-stocked kitchen added to the homely feeling and the location is unbeatable- secluded and tranquil, but less than a 10 minute drive from all amenities and sights- grocery store, restaurants, beach, fort knox, penobscott narrows bridge etc. Thank you, Connie and Michael- your efforts in creating a beautiful, relaxing and welcoming retreat are much appreciated. We were able to truly recharge and enjoy our time together as a family while exploring the beautiful trails and ponds nearby and magnificent Acadia. We had a blast.

Now that the grandkids are adults, we have outgrown staying at Gramps' house. So, this house was the best solution, giving us more space to be together with our extended family within a short drive over the river and through the woods to Gramp's house we could go! Connie is the best host, making the arrangements easy and decorating the house for the holidays! We felt right at home and hope this will become our new Christmas tradition!

Amazing place. Well maintained and was clean and ready to go as soon as we got there. Owners were easy to get a hold of in case we had a few questions. Had no problems during the week and would most definitely rent it again.

We are on a three week east coast roundtrip and made our inquiry only two days in advance. That was no problem for Connie. The house is amazing. Spectacular view! The BBQ grill worked perfect. The interior is great! Highly recommendable!
Woof! Woof! Thank You Connie!

Enjoyed mixing business with pleasure at Connie's lovely home in Prospect. We are fond of the Bucksprt area! We adore Castine, just down the road. A beautiful isolated location yet close enough to Acadia, 1 hour; and Camden 1 hour. A big house with comfort. Only thing... A little too much direct sunlight, due West exposure, got a little hot for the furry ones, but it was a heat wave... Nice big house, big enough for the two of us and our two well behaved Norwegian Elkhounds. Woof woof! Everyone needs a little vacation!
it was great

Christmas in Maine

We fell in love with this home the second we walked in the door. It was above and beyond our expectations! Photos cannot capture just how warm and cozy it really is. We enjoyed every minute of our stay during the holidays. The woodstove provides beautiful evening fires, the windows provide an excellent view of the river and mountains, and the kitchen has everything you might need. We enjoyed a visit from a young deer and an eagle. The owners went out of their way for us and had the house decorated for the holidays which we appreciated. The location is very private and quiet yet it is a short drive to get supplies. During our stay we visited LL Bean, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, local antique shops, and went shopping in Bangor. The local coastal towns are very charming. It is a place that we would like to return to regularly, so that we may enjoy it in all seasons.

Autumn in Maine

This was a lovely house to stay in-very nicely appointed, owners were very accomodating and the location was great for traveling around the midcoast area. Highlights of our trip were Acadia National Park, the Farnsworth Museum [Rockland] and we loved the towns of Searsport, Rockport and Camden. All were a reasonable driving distance from the house. We would recommend this place for anyone interested in a place that is close to nature but also offers the flavour of down east Maine, points of historical interest and shopping nearby.

If you need to get away from it all, you need to stay at this wonderful home in the woods! It has all the comforts of home and much more. We loved it and especially enjoyed the privacy and views from the deck. You might even be treated to a visit from a beautiful bald eagle like we were. It's also a great area for running, bicycling, or kayaking. We highly recommend it!
