Description of the Provincetown vacation home rental
This is a classic Cape Cod summer house with lots of character and charm, including antique furnishings, period architectural details, original Provincetown art, wide-board floors, and an outdoor shower. The owner of Leeward Cottage has added a new well-equipped upscale kitchen, plus two new Kohler-fixtured bathrooms. The house includes four double bedrooms, one with an additional twin bed. Situated on a roomy protected lot set back on Bradford Street in the middle East End, with a white picket fence, a Chinese maple tree out front, and perennial gardens all around, this unique historic house is one short block from the Provincetown harbor beach, and within an easy 15-minute walk of the town center.

The updated kitchen has white beadboard cupboards with soapstone countertops, a stainless steel professional-type five-burner gas stove with gas oven and warming drawer, a stainless steel dishwasher, recessed stainless steel refrigerator with ice maker, filtered ice water dispenser, and freezer. There is also a new stainless steel microwave oven. A sound system connects to built-in speakers in the kitchen, dining room and upstairs bathroom.

A 48-inch square dining room table seats four people generously. Add two leaves and you can seat eight. Blue Willow dinnerware and a wide choice of wine, beer and drinking glasses and coffee mugs are provided, with a large kitchen drawer full of every other utensil you are likely to need. In the morning doors open onto either side of the property allowing you to enjoy the sun, songbirds and garden views along with your breakfast. In the evening a gas grill is available on the patio just outside.

Perfect for a family

August 28, 2016

We made very last minute arrangements to travel to Ptown. Tom was very helpful and accommodating of our slightly off kilter vacation schedule. His home is ideal for a family with children (unless your kids are "wild," in which case there could be things that get broken). The home has plenty of space, a place for every person to be alone to read/relax. The trip in to the center of town and beaches is very easy. The house accommodated every one of our needs for the week we spent there - in addition to the lovely home, we had access to easy parking, beach towels, beach chairs, laundry facilities, and a gas grille. Tom and his friends made some very helpful suggestions for our travel and activities, and we found those to be "spot on" for a fabulous week spent in Ptown. Of course, traveling with four children to a beach/resort town is very expensive, but in my experience, it was well worth the sacrifices necessary to make it possible. It will definitely go down in the books as our "best family vacation ever."

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: For what use is this house best suited?
A: Perfect for groups of friends, or family members, who want to spend time together in a relaxed comfortable and quintessentially Cape Cod-style house. The well-equipped kitchen and gas grill make putting on dinners for lots of people very easy and enjoyable. The large private yard is great for sitting in a lawn chair reading a book, or if necessary, plugging in your laptop and working for a little while using the property-wide wifi.
Q: What makes this vacation rental special?
A: Provincetown is a very unique destination, unlike any other on Cape Cod, and this house is within easy walking or biking distance to all the town has to offer -- beaches, bars and restaurants, art galleries, shops of every description, plus kayaking, whale watching, golf and tennis, or simply walking around with a guidebook or map, marveling at the historic residential architecture of this centuries-old former fishing village that's been often and accurately described as "like no place else."
