Imagine waking up to the most gorgeous sunrise you have ever seen overlooking the Caribbean. Think about drinking freshly made coffee while watching the cruise ships go by. Sound good? Then come on down and enjoy the beautiful white sandy beaches at Casa Margarita!

Prepare breakfast in a completely equipped kitchen and enjoy it either in the dining room or on one the terraces overlooking the ocean. Relax floating around in the private infinity pool or in the calm warm water of the Caribbean. Lounge around under the beach palapa reading your favorite book and drinking your favorite cocktail. If this sounds like paradise to you, then Casa Margarita is calling your name!

Casa Margarita is on the best part of the beach in Puerto Morelos. Located next door to the north of Casita Blanca, Casa Margarita is only a short 10 minute walk to the town square. The square consists of many amazing restaurants, souvenir shops, coffee shops, a small grocery, a Catholic church, convenience stores, a pharmacy, and a park area in the center for children. You can´t beat the friendly, laid-back atmosphere of Puerto Morelos.

We can help arrange your transportation to and from the airport which is only 20 minutes away. Cancun is 30 minutes away and it is 25 minutes to Playa del Carmen.

Casa Margarita's beautiful infinity pool boasts a tanning ledge (shallow area for pool loungers or a shallow area for small children), a built-in bar table and stools with massaging back jets, 5 lighted laminar jets that arc above the pool, and 3 waterfalls.

Casa Margarita has over 3000 square feet of outdoor living space which includes a large patio off of the living room, a second story balcony, and a rooftop terrace with palapa. A huge stone gas grill and sink are right off the pool deck area downstairs.

Inside of the 5000 square foot Casa Margarita are five spacious bedrooms. Two are master suites - both with king beds - one upstairs and one downstairs. There is also a pull-out double bed in the tv room downstairs. Upstairs are four bedrooms - a king, a queen which also has a single bed in the room, the king master, and the newly built 5th bedroom. Inside this huge room are a king-sized bed, a queen-sized bed, microwave, small refrigerator, coffee pot, DVD, and hot/cold water dispenser. All bedrooms have private bathrooms. The high ceilings give Casa Margarita an even greater open and spacious feeling.

A very large living area looks out onto the pool deck and overlooks the ocean. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, a dishwasher, granite countertops, a water cooler, and all the utensils and cookware needed to prepare your favorite meal. Two full-sized refrigerators in the kitchen gives a big group plenty of space for food and drinks.

A 55-inch LG LED tv with DVD player that gets American channels (DISH) is in the living area. Parents will enjoy the separate downstairs tv room for the kids that contains a DVD player and a wide variety of DVDs.

Washer and dryer - along with an iron and ironing board - are in the home for your added convenience.

A Kid Box is in the upstairs closet. This huge tub is packed full of books, puzzles, dry erase boards/markers, crayons, construction paper, scissors, games, etc. for kids of every age. We also furnish a stroller, pack-n-play, and high chair if needed.

Casa Margarita has an abundance of beach toys for the kids. For your pleasure, a two-man kayak complete with life jackets and four bicycles are also provided.

Caretakers Adrian and Reyna cater to your every need. Reyna will clean twice through your stay and Adrian ensures that the grounds are a tropical paradise. Roberto and Selene, the property managers, are always there to make sure that this vacation will be your best ever!

Telephone with one touch dialing calls Roberto if you need assistance or calls a cab for pick-up. (No other outside calling available.)

We can accommodate 10 adults or groups with children up to 13.

WONDERFUL place to stay!

Our group of 11 adult family members came from all over the US to vacation in Puerto Morelos. We all had a great time staying in Casa Margarita. The house is even more beautiful and comfortable than the pictures. The gorgeous swimming pool, the clean quiet white sand beach, the big comfortable bedrooms, the very well-equipped kitchen and outdoor grill, the great balconies, and terrific location all far exceeded our expectations. I will guarantee anyone staying here will be pleased. It's simply a wonderful property.

A couple recommendations for those staying here are the Jungle Market and Spa and the Little Mexican Cooking School. Both were great! The snorkeling out on the reef was spectacular too. Don't miss it.

Special Thanks to Meta and Jerry for the opportunity to stay in clearly the best property in Puerto Morelos. Everything is as the reviews reflect, only more. Our group of six spent a majority of the time in and around the awesome pool area. The inside has been carefully laid out for maximum comfort and privacy and is decorated very nicely. The views from the pool were much more awesome than the pictures show. You will be amazed at the stars at night from the deck on top and if you are as lucky as we were, you could see a full moon rising over the water just as the sun goes down. The recent reviews are accurate, so no need to wonder why all the previous guests raved over this home. Do the snorkel trip out to the reef and there are some structures in front of the house that hold many of the reef fish. One thing to add about Puerto Morelos is the quality of food there. I have read where some had an in-house cook to prepare all the meals. Don?t do that! Go into town, (it?s a short walk), and eat the food at the restaurants. We wish we had not bought so many groceries at Walmart. We had some picky eaters in our group and every meal in town was better than the last, it?s all good. Some restaurants not to be missed are Don Gauchos, El Nicho, Pelicanos, I Wanna Pizza, El Pirata, Coffee and Cream and their bakery, and there are many more that we wish we had more time to try. Get some of the local fruit from the market, it tastes ten times better than we can get in the states. Thanks again for opening up your great vacation home.

Paradise!

Thank you so much Meta and Jerry for letting our group of 12 stay in the house for a week! The home is just like the pictures except more awesome when you are there. The house has plenty of room and so does the pool area. We were not running into each other at all. We bought groceries from Walmart and ate mostly breakfast and lunch at the house and then went to town for dinner. The town has excellent food and we loved getting drinks at Unico Beach Bar, getting pastries from the bakery van that drives around town at night, and going to the fruit market on Wednesday morning for excellent fruit at a really good price! The town is a short walk away and is worth going to but some nights we just wanted to sit on the back porch or the beach and listen to the ocean. That was priceless. We also tried deep sea fishing and snorkeling in the town. Both were a lot of fun! Do not miss the chance to book this place! You will not regret it! Thanks again Meta and Jerry for the wonderful stay and we will for sure see you in the future!

A perfect holiday home for an extended family

Casa Margarita is attractive, comfortable, very well equipped and clean. The infinity pool has several lovely features - back massaging jets, waterfall, and spectacular lighted laminar jets for that late night swim. The terrace had room for 14 of us to dine comfortably and the bbq grill coped well with everything from big fish from the fish market in the village to chicken kebabs. We enjoyed snorkelling and diving on the protected reef just off shore; some adventurous souls went swimming with whale sharks and a group of 11 had a great day out, with private driver/guide, organised by Edventures. They went to the ruins at Tulum, swimming in cenotes and zip lining in the jungle. Others enjoyed a day at the Little Mexican Cooking School. The small local restaurants all have tasty food: our favorite was El Nicho. The villa's owners and the property manager were helpful and friendly. We're telling all our friends about this little piece of paradise.

Unbelivable!!!

I have no words to describe how awesome Casa Magarita is!! Roberto, Renya and everyone else was fantastic to say the least. Roberto set up Nina to make us a meal and it was great too. The beach was beautiful and the weather was too. Between bloody marys at Unico to start the day, floating around & sitting at the table in the pool during the day watching the cruise ships go by and moon views from the all the decks to end it....WOW! The town is a short, enjoyable walk down the beach and epitomizes the phrase "no shirt, no shoes, no problems". Thanks again for everything before, during and after our stay. we will back to PM and your Casa for sure in the future

AMAZING

Thank you so much Jerry and Meta for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise. We stayed at the Casa Margarita from October 11, 2014 - October 18, 2014. There are so many reasons we want to go back and here are a few:
1. Location is perfect
2. Nice beach to take long walks
3. Very clean and well stocked home
4. Helpful and very friendly staff
5. Safe and friendly town
6. Town is a short bike ride or a 10 min walk
7. Very nice infinity pool
8. Plenty of space in the house (we are a family of 10 and never felt cramped)
9. Free wifi
10. Jerry and Meta are excellent to work with. Very informative and made sure all our needs were met.
We also hired Lisa Troan to come and cook a special birthday dinner for us while we were there. She was very reasonable. She fixed a phenomenal meal for us and she was such a joy to talk to. I would recommend everyone to have her come in and cook a meal for them- you won't regret it.
We are definitely planning our next trip to back to Casa Margarita. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Wonderful Beach Retreat
Love, love, love this property. We were a family of 13 including 5 children, ages 3-12. As mentioned previously, the location is wonderful - right in town a short walk from restaurants, convenience stores, shopping, etc. And yet, right on the beach with a beautiful pool.

We were wondering how we were going to divvy up the bedrooms with 4 adult couples and the 5 children but it was really easy. Each adult couple had a private bedroom and attached bath. 4 of the children slept in the bedroom with the queen and king sized bed with attached bath, TV, and water cooler. My daughter and her husband slept in the bedroom which included a queen sized bed and a twin bed in which their 3-year old slept.

It was great having a washer and dryer and nice beach towels. The kitchen is set up well for a family with toaster, blender, microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot, gas stove and oven. There were plenty of kid-friendly cups and bowls. We ate most breakfasts and lunches in and went out for a few dinners and lunches. Lisa Troan did grocery shopping for us initially and we made about 3 additional trips via taxi to the newer, larger grocery store (taxi is only $2.50 each way).

Lisa Troan fixed one dinner for the 13 of us - it was great being served a lovely salad and chicken and pasta main entre with asparagus. We also ate at Cantina Habernaro, La Sirena, a place on the beach across from Pelicanos, Unico Beach Bar and Roy's beach bar. All very good except Unico which I would rate just okay. We preferred Roy's beach bar to Unico (I don't know if that is the official name but next beach bar down south of Unico). We listened to live music at night at Cantina Habernaro and La Sirena - great talent. We really enjoyed our nights out on the town. One or two of the adults would stay back with the kids who were always sleeping early wiped out from the sun and sand.

There are pool and sand toys available for the kids which came in very handy. We used the kayak and the bikes which are also provided. The TV room downstairs with the library of DVD's was used most evenings after dinner by the kids while the adults watched a little TV prior to going out.

Roberto, the property manager, and the caretaker couple were very courteous and helpful. Jerry and Meta, the owners, were an absolute dream to work with.

We will be back to this house and in between family vacations, my husband and I will come back to Puerto Morelos. Love the town.

Best Place in the World to be caught in a Tropical Depression

We booked Casa Del Sol last summer, but when our week changed, Meta (the most wonderful owner), told us not only was Casa Margerita available but it potentiallly would be a much better fit for our crew. We were Oma and Grandpa, our son, his wife and their son (15 months old), and our daughter and her husband and their 4 month old daughter. Yes, I was a bit crazy to attempt a vacation like this but our family loves Mexico, and Puerto Morelos in particular. My husband and I have come to PM often, and had walked by the Casa's often. Oh wow, the view from the beach does not even begin to give you an idea of the house. The parents and kids traveled separately, but due to the abundance of groceries we bought in Cancun, we arrived much later than the kids. But, Roberto did not give up on us, he welcomed us with open arms. He helped us unload our tons of groceries, showed us around, and left us to explore our surroundings. What a house! The big beautiful kitchen worked out great, with lots of counters, great appliances, and 2 fridges (so very appreciated). Casa Margerita has a gorgeous, huge dining room table, a cozy living room, and yes, 5 bedrooms, 5 baths and a "TV" room, that my son was able to take over as an office (unfortunately work followed him). But, it was so perfect for what we all needed.....bedrooms for the 3 couples plus room for babies!! Then, a Tropical Depression hit us on Monday, and lasted through Thursday. But, we had enough room inside and protected areas outside to not step over each other. We were so thankful for that big beautiful house. When the weather cleared a wee bit the grandparents pushed the babies to town to grab more groceries......and we also got to visit the brand new big grocery at the highway. We spent a lot of time at the table on the lower deck (wonderfully covered) playing games, and again, when we had a little clearing, enjoyed the pool......and even the beach. The pools colored lights that shine at night are so beautiful....what a great atmosphere. We ate every meal at home (eating out with babies is such a challenge), but did get fresh fish in town for most meals, usually grilled outside. It definitely was not the week we planned on, but it was a wonderful week, and we really really hope it works out for us to return again. Hopefully to enjoy more sunshine????. Thank you Meta, for being unendingly patient with all of my questions. I pray we meet someday!! Hugs!!!!

The Perfect Beach Vacation

If you are looking for the perfect house, the perfect location, the perfect beach and the perfect small fishing village, this is the place for you. There are wonderful restaurants, a great coffee shop, a bakery and lots of activities. This year a large grocery store opened a 5 minute drive from Casa Margarita. Case Margarita is beautiful, well maintained with everything you could possibly need at the beach and then some. There is a property manager, a housekeeper that comes twice a week, and an outside person who keeps the pool crystal clean, and flowers blooming. We have been there 4 times and are already booked for next year. If you go once, you will be hooked and will keep going from year to year. Best relaxing vacation ever.

Perfect for large group

10 adults, and never once, did we feel cramped. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom, the kitchen is well equipped with all you need, large dining room table which can accommodate up to 12 adults comfortably, large living area. The pool is amazing, loved the fact that you could fit 3 - 4 loungers in the shallow part....dip your toes in the water to cool off....and the view of the ocean leaves you breathless......walking distance to the square, restaurants and shops. Gated community, very safe area. Roberto and the staff bend over backwards to make sure you have everything you need. Loved it, loved it, loved...only thing we didn't like ..was leaving..... it would go back any day

Great Family Vacation

Our three weeks in Casa Margarita with our family & friends was a wonderful holiday which exceeded all my expectations.Roberto, Adrian, Reyna & the rest of the staff were awesome. Everything Meta(the owner) said to expect during our stay was correct with some happy surprises. We used the bikes almost every day after Adrian adjusted a few of them. My husband (whose knees aren't great) loved biking into & around town with his friend & the grandchildren. My list could go on & on with many of the little things which just made our stay exceptional. With our family from Edmonton, Winnipeg & Toronto all able to reconnect & have fun together is priceless. We don't know if & when we'd be able to get everyone together again with their busy lives but having been able to do it this once in a little piece of paradise at Casa Margarita in Puerto Morelos was awesome! From Meta answering all my e-mailed questions promptly, for having wonderful on-site staff, for all the niceties which make Casa Margarita very special, great location close to village for restaurants, wonderful beach & warm sea all make this a wonderful place for friends & family to enjoy.

Adult and Child Paradise

We are finishing up a way too short stay at Casa Margarita with a remarkable view of the ocean as I write this. The three families had a great time with plenty of space to do what they wanted, when they wanted. The six children aged 6 to 12 rarely left the pool that was well stocked with toys, snorkel gear, floats, to keep them well entertained. The house owner answered every question for recommendations before and during the trip nearly immediately and always with great information. Need a massage therapist? Need a snorkel company? Want to go fishing? Did you happen to forget to bring your bathing suit? The owner had great referrals for all. The house is superbly maintained and has all the space you could possibly need and if ANY issue arises, the house manager is ON IT. The house is also just a short walk from the square. I will stay here again. The only question is how soon I can get back.

Casa Margarita is wonderful home in a beautiful location

I would highly recommend Casa Margarita in Puerto Morelos. The owners are wonderful to work with. This was our families first time to Mexico and Meta was excellent in responding to all our questions. Puerto Morelos is a very safe little village that is easy to get to from Cancun airport.

The home was in immaculate condition when we arrived. Three levels with balconies and incredible views from most bedrooms and the main floor is breath taking. We cannot say enough about how awesome the pool is!
The town has excellent restaurants and shops. There is excellent snorkeling right off the beach a little way down from Casa Margarita.

Great home for friends with the same thing in mind - RELAXING!
We had a great time at Casa Margarita and would definitely recommend this home. Easy walk to town and great restaurants all along the way. Meta was very quick to reply to any questions we had about the area and the home, and Roberto was just incredible and would go above and beyond to help us. He arranged transportation for us with a gentleman named Noe pronounced (Noah). We used his services twice (trip to Xel-ha and Play DelCarmen - Cozumel) and would highly recommend him. He was awesome! Roberto surprised our group while we were having a 9 year olds birthday party with a minion pi?ata! We were using a trash bag and he showed up with a real pi?ata! It was really unbelievable! We also enjoyed having the house stocked prior to our arrival. The pool was the highlight of the house for all of us during the hot days, and the rooftop at night for the 6 adults for stargazing was great. This home will not disappoint. Thanks Jerry and Meta for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise with all of us!

Amazing!
It really doesn't get any better than this! The property is beautiful and well-maintained and you can't beat the stunning sunrises. We enjoyed the convenience of the location, especially with, the little bar called Unico just 500 feet away, from the property. If we were feeling lazy and wanted lunch or a great mango margarita, it is 1 minute away. We were also able to book an hour massage there by Gabriella for $20 for a full hour. I did it twice, she is very good and I would recommend a late morning or early afternoon appointment. The town is only a 10 minute walk down the beach which is not a hardship given the scenery. There are plenty of of restaurants and we enjoyed El Pirata where Chef Carlitos makes great lobster and the staff there is very friendly.
The staff at Casa Margarita was great and we booked a snorkeling tour with Reyna the housekeeper. $20 for a 2 hour tour of some of the best reefs in the world and the boat picked us up in front of the property- could it get any easier? Roberto, the property manager did a great job with any request we had and being very helpful and responsive.
In addition, Meta gave us a few names of cooks/chefs in the area that would come in and cook a meal for us. I would highly recommend Sonia and Marco Molinar! They own Dona Sonia and came in and cooked us fabulous authentic Mexican food our second night. We liked them so much we had them back two mores times. I can't say enough great things about Casa Margarita and working with Meta. If you have never done a rental home then let this be the first and only place you stay in Puerto Moralos!

Absolute heaven!!

We have finally found home....in paradise! *sigh*

We were a group of 8 adults and 2 children (9 and 11 year old boys). This house was the perfect set up for all of us. We had plenty of room to spread out and have our own space, or come together as a group. We brought our boys PlayStation down (I know...I know, it's vacation! But they needed their down time too!), and the tv/kids room was perfect for them to hang out in after a long day and unwind while the adults did their own things. It was nice to have that separate tv/living room just for them.

The private fenced off area of beach was wonderful, although the main area of beach for the most part was very quiet. There were people who would gather and hang out on the beach, but it was very a very wide section of beach and we never felt crowded. Loved the beach, it was so beautiful. Football on the beach...all day long!

The house had everything you would need in the kitchen and beyond. I know most reviews have mentioned all of this, so I don't really need to! :) Pack a carry on and travel light. Everything you need is right there

A huge thank you to Meta and her family for sharing their home with us (and for being so easy to work with!)...and to her incredible staff that keeps it looking beautiful. They are definitely an asset to your business, Meta. I know this is said in every review, but for those of us who has stayed with you...we really appreciate it!

We made wonderful local connections and can not wait to go back next year. What a great small town to explore. They are very welcoming and eager to talk and get to know you. Loved it! I have been all over Mexico many times, but it is Puerto Morelos that has captured my heart!

Rest assured...this is the place to go. I promise you, you will love it.

ps. Two recommendations....if you are looking for a massage, Gabriella next door at Unico is incredible! My husband went twice and others in our group had a total of 3 massages too. At $20 an hour (yes, you read that right!!)..it just can't be beat! She is a kindred soul and a wonderful massage therapist. Book with you...you will go back for more. :)

Second....we had professional chefs come in THREE times. They were wonderful and such great people who happen to cook delicious food! Dona Sonia was their business name, Sonia and Marco. Incredible food and down to earth people. A splurge, but worth it!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where is the house located?
A: Our two beachfront homes, Casa Margarita and Casa del Sol, are side-by-side in the quaint village of Puerto Morelos, approximately 20 minutes south of the Cancun airport. The homes are a 10-12 minute walk to the town square by road or by beach.
Q: Do I need to rent a car?
A: If you plan to spend the majority of your vacation in Puerto Morelos, you do not need a car. The houses are within walking distance of all restaurants and stores in town. The cab fare to/from town is about $2.00. There is a phone in the house that calls the cab stand directly. Day trips to Tulum, Playa, etc. can be arranged through a transportation service. If you plan to travel extensively while you are there, it would be a good idea to have your own vehicle.
Q: How do I get to the house from the airport?
A: If you are not renting a car, there are many transportation services that you can use. A lot of our guests use USA Transfers. We have gotten very good feedback on them – clean vans, great drivers, reliable and reasonable. Contact me for the link to reserve your transportation.
Q: What time is check-in and check-out?
A: Check-in time is 3pm and check-out time is 11am. There might be an occasion that these times are flexible, but most often we have to stick with these times. The houses are very busy and typically there is a group before you and a group after you. If you arrive a little early, we can find a spot to store your bags and you can head to town for a cold drink or snack. Roberto can then meet you back at the house at 3:00 for check-in. Upon departure, if your plane does not leave until later in the afternoon, we can store your bags as you depart the property at 11:00, and you can head into town for lunch or shopping. We try our hardest to have a smooth check-in/check-out, and we are grateful for everyone’s flexibility!
Q: Do the owners live on-site?
A: No, we live in Dallas, Texas, but we do have a great staff to take care of your every need. Upon arrival, Roberto, our property manager, will greet you and provide you information about the house. He will also help you put your personal code into the keyless entry lock. Roberto will check on you through your stay. If you need him at any time, the phone in the house has a button that you can press that calls his cell phone directly. Adrian, the caretaker, will clean the pool, take chairs to the beach, help unload groceries, etc. He can also help you with snorkel or fishing reservations. Reyna, Adrian’s wife, will do light cleaning twice a week while you are there and also takes care of the final cleaning.
Q: Does the house have wi-fi?
A: Yes, both homes have high speed wireless internet.
Q: Do you have baby gear?
A: We have a high chair, pack-n-play, and stroller for your use.
Q: How do we get groceries?
A: There are two grocery stores up on the highway, Chedraui and Super Aki. They are well stocked with everything you need. Chedraui has a great selection of wine, beer, and liquor. Have your transportation company stop on the way to the house or take a cab after you check-in for $2. Roberto will also pre-stock the house with food and beverage for a flat fee of $100. I will email him your list, and groceries will be there upon arrival. Don’t waste any beach time…let Roberto do the work!
Q: Will you accept shorter stays than a week?
A: Seven nights is usually our minimum. During low season, there might be a little flexibility – just ask!
Q: Do you allow smoking in the house?
A: No, there is NO smoking in our homes. The security deposit will not be refunded if there is evidence of smoking. If you smoke outside, we appreciate you properly disposing of your cigarette butts. There is no smoking on the pool loungers.
Q: May we bring a pet to your vacation home?
A: No, we love our furry friends, but no pets are permitted in either home or on the grounds.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: If you feel like there might be a possibility that you need to cancel, we highly recommend trip insurance. If you do an internet search, you will find many companies that offer trip insurance. During high season (December 1 through April 30), we will refund all money paid if we find another group to rent your time slot. Otherwise, there is no refund of any money paid. During mid and low seasons, a 90 day notice is required for cancellation. All money paid will be refunded if owners are notified prior to 90 days of arrival. Inside of 90 days, we will refund your total amount paid if we can secure another rental for your time slot.
Q: What are the other charges and fees besides the weekly rental rate?
A: There is a $500 security deposit, payable at least 90 days prior to arrival. This security deposit will be refunded in its entirety within 10 days of departure if all of the points on the rental agreement are adhered to during the stay. There are no other fees. If you wish to leave a gratuity for Adrian and Reyna, we know they would be very appreciative.
Q: Do you have someone that could cook for us?
A: There is a local lady named Nina that cooks for some of our guests. Upon arrival, get with Roberto about what day(s) you would like Nina and what you would like for her to fix. She charges on how many people she cooks for and how much food she cooks. She is very reasonable. She can also fix some pico de gallo and guacamole for you to have for a snack with chips through the week. Just talk to Roberto! Having Nina on a night or two might be fun, but don’t forget about the many great restaurants in town! There is also a sweet local couple who cooks for our guests. Sonia and Marco have a great menu and are open to other suggestions. Contact me for their email address and they will provide menu items and pricing.
Q: What restaurants in town do you recommend?
A: For such a small village, Puerto Morelos has great restaurants! All are very casual and reasonable. We haven’t found any we don’t like, so it’s hard to recommend just a few! Try as many as you can!
Q: What are the departure instructions?
A: Upon arrival, Roberto will give you a check-in information sheet and a departure checklist. We appreciate you taking care of those few things before you leave us so we can refund your security deposit in its entirety.
Q: How do I go about booking?
A: To secure your place in paradise, let us know you are ready to proceed with booking. A rental agreement will be emailed out to you. Look over it and see if you have any questions. We require 50% to secure the dates and the final 50% is due at least 90 days prior to arrival. If you are booking a year out, we are happy to offer the option of four payments spread throughout the year instead of two. We accept personal checks, a direct deposit to our Wells Fargo account, or payment through PayPal. If you would like to use a credit card, you may do so through PayPal. Since we accept credit cards only as a convenience to our guests, we do not pay the credit card fee that PayPal will charge. We will provide an address to which you can mail the agreement and initial payment. If you plan to use PayPal or Wells Fargo direct deposit, you can email the agreement back to us if that is more convenient. Please note that a reservation is NOT secured, and requested dates will remain available to others, until the rental agreement and deposit have been received by the owner.
Q: Do we need to bring beach towels?
A: No, we supply beach towels.
Q: What else do you supply?
A: We supply toilet paper, hand soap, dishwasher pods, and small bar soap. We do not supply trash bags, paper towels, laundry detergent or dishwashing liquid. Some guests leave salt, pepper and other spices. We cannot guarantee what will be available. The coffee pots do not require filters. We also have a five gallon water dispenser in the kitchen which will be refilled when empty. Hair dryers are also supplied.
Q: Can you tell me more about the layout of the houses?
A: Casa Margarita: one king downstairs, one tv room downstairs with full pullout, one oceanfront king upstairs, one king on south side of house that has a slider out to the oceanfront balcony, one queen with twin on the north side of the house that has a slider which connects to the balcony, but is not oceanfront, and one king, also with a queen, on west side of house with small balcony but is not oceanfront.

Casa del Sol: one downstairs king, two oceanfront upstairs kings, one with a pullout sofa bed, two kings on west side of house (not oceanfront), one with a set of bunk beds. TV room upstairs has two futons.
Q: What are some things to do in the area?
A: Puerto Morelos has the Little Mexican Cooking School, Crococun Zoo, and
The Jungle Spa, which are all big attractions in the area. Xel Ha, XCaret, and XPlore are parks within an hour’s drive. There are also many great cenotes within a 20 minute drive. 5th Ave. shopping in Playa is about 30 minutes away. Layla Guesthouse, in town, has some great seminars through the week – bird talks, Mayan culture, cenote history, etc. There are also several yoga sessions going on most days.
Q: What items do you suggest that I bring with me?
A: Besides your other toiletries, be sure to throw in some bug spray and sunscreen….These items tend to be more expensive in Mexico, so just bring them!
Q: What is the maximum occupancy of your home?
A: Casa Margarita: maximum of 10 adults or families with children up to a maximum of 13
Casa del Sol: maximum of 10 adults or families with children up to a maximum of 12
Maximum numbers are strictly enforced. You will be asked to vacate the premises if this policy is not followed. Security deposit will also be forfeited.
Q: Can we have day guests at the house?
A: No, there are no day guests allowed without prior approval of the owner. This policy is also strictly enforced. You will be asked to vacate the premises and security deposit will be forfeited if this policy is not followed.
Q: Are there safes in the house?
A: Yes, each bedroom in Margarita has a safe that holds passports, wallets, and money. There is a large safe downstairs that hold laptops, iPads, purses, etc. Casa del Sol has three bedrooms with a safe and the large safe that holds bigger items.
Q: Where do we change currency to pesos?
A: There is a money exchange booth on the town square where you can easily exchange money. It is recommended that guests not use the ATM machines outdoors. There have been reports at times of cards being compromised. Use the ATMs inside the OXXO convenience stores in town, the ATM at Chedraui, or use the money exchange booth in town.
Q: Do shops and restaurants take credit cards?
A: There are some places in town that take credit cards, but do not count on using cards everywhere. All of the grocery chains will accept most major credit cards. Please note that Chedraui has a $250 credit card limit. If you foresee your grocery bill exceeding $250, you may want to consider bringing an additional credit card or cash to make up the difference.
Q: Are you sure you answered all of my questions?
A: NO! So if you have any others, be sure to email us! We’d be happy to answer any questions you might have.
