About the area

This lake home is one of a few houses surrounding Upper Scott Lake, a quiet inland lake in Lee Township, Michigan. Summer brings the fun of boating, swimming, picnicking, and relaxing. The autumn colors are spectacular around the lake and area. Enjoy the area's winter sports like skiing, sledding, cross country skiing, and ice skating. Spring brings the lovely colors of the flowers and leaves bursting to new life, invigorating your soul and mind after the long winter. The cottage is 10-15 minutes away from Crane's Orchards and Dutch Farms, famous for delicious pies and fruit picking. On the way to the orchards is the Fennville Winery, offering tours and wine tastings. If you like antiquing, it does not get better than this.

“Family Fun”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2018

Thirteen members of my family spent an enjoyable weekend at Heron's Landing from October 12-15. We were missing some family, but it is so hard to find a time that works for everyone. Family from Ohio,Michigan, the Chicago area, and Los Angelos loved the spacious living area and many bedrooms and bathrooms. This is a really nice house with beautiful views of the lake. The leaves were changing, and it was so relaxing to sit and watch the swans and geese. My 1year old and 3 year old granddaughters loved running around the yard and up and down the long hallway. The long dining table made eating together a treat. All the adults would love to come back in spring or summer. Thank you sharing this beautiful home at such a reasonable price.

Owner's reply: We are so pleased to know that your family had a great time staying in our home, and that you were truly able to relax and enjoy some quality time with your loved ones. We certainly look forward to helping you book some spring or summer 2019 dates, and we thank you for taking the time to provide your invaluable feedback.

“Perfect for ages 5 - 85!”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2018

Loved this house that suited the needs of our group of 15 from little kids up to grandma. The one floor spacious layout made it easy for everyone and the great room's expansive windows provided relaxing and beautiful views of the lake. The furnishings were better than expected as it was obvious that much time went into decorating this house with quality furniture, bedding, kitchen supplies, etc., unlike some rentals that are a hodgepodge of very worn pieces. We loved the extra long dining table where we enjoyed meals and games together. The pool table area was a big hit as was the fire pit at night, which was supplied nicely with about a dozen chairs. Really nice extra table space in the screened in porch and two large picnic tables on the deck facing the lake for a great view. The lake was quiet and we had fun swimming and boating and the dock was an added convenience for the row boat we brought along. The lake has a soft muddy bottom with a fair amount of plant life but we still had fun and it was nice that it was private and the kids could go out quite a ways before it got deep. The location is also very close to great tourist towns like South Haven, Saugatuck and Holland if you want to have a shopping day or eat out. We found the owner and booking agent to be quite helpful and kind. As we were the first week long guests at this new house, the house was missing a few minor things and the house manager quickly provided them. Overall a great house for our family reunion vacation! Thank you very much!

Owner's reply: It is such a pleasure for us to be able to provide a place for you to host your family reunion vacation, and we thank you for letting us know how much you enjoyed our home. We love knowing that we have provided the kind of quality that goes above and beyond your expectations, and we look forward to having you stay with us again in the future.

“Herons landing”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2018

Our stay was short but it was a pleasure to visit Herons Landing . The house has a fabulous panoramic view of the large lawn , beach and lake . The house is beautifully decorated throughout with plenty of room and plenty of seating . The kitchen is spacious and well stocked , the rec room with pool table , foosball, and tv is great for rainy days . The beach is Sandy and the lake water was nice and warm . The lake has a Sandy bottom and gets deep slowly , so it's great for children overall. A great family vacation place and hope to stay longer next time !!

Owner's reply: We definitely want to be your favorite vacation destination, so thank you for letting us know how much you enjoyed your time in our home!
