About the area

This lake home is one of a few houses surrounding Upper Scott Lake, a quiet inland lake in Pullman, Michigan. Come and experience all four seasons at Sunset Shores! Summer brings the fun of boating, swimming, picnicking, and relaxing. The autumn colors are spectacular around the lake and area. Enjoy the area's winter sports like skiing, sledding, cross country skiing, and ice skating. Spring brings the lovely colors of the flowers and leaves bursting to new life, invigorating your soul and mind after the long winter. The cottage is 10-15 minutes away from Crane's Orchards and Dutch Farms, famous for delicious pies and fruit picking. On the way to the orchards is the Fennville Winery, offering tours and wine tastings. If you like antiquing, it does not get better than this - there are many antique stores within 20 minutes, either in South Haven, Allegan, Douglas and Saugatuck or along Blue Star Highway. In the summer dune rides are a blast and the South Haven beaches are gorgeous. Go fruit picking for cherries, blueberries, raspberries and apples in nearby orchards. Art galleries in the area offer wonderful selection to take home as souvenirs. Take your canoes and kayak to different lakes and rivers - but don't forget your paddles and life-jackets! Upper Scott Lake is only 15 minutes from downtown South Haven or Saugatuck, and 25 minutes from Holland. Contact us for an extensive list of activities in the area!

“Perfect home for large group/family.”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2016

Our family rented this house for the week of Thanksgiving. We found the house was very clean and provided everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. The lake view was spectacular from the deck and our children had plenty of room to play out back. We would not hesitate to return.

“A great house for a large family!”

We had a great weekend at this house! It was perfect for 15 of us to celebrate our father's 70th! All 3 generations enjoyed the house and the lake! The renters were great to work with!

“End of summer family vacation”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2016

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend. This house was very clean and nicely decorated. There was 14 of us and we had plenty of room. With 4 bathrooms, each family had their own. The grand children played in the lake and went for canoe rides. Would recommend this rental. We already have it booked again for next year!!

“Great Space!”

A house designed for large gatherings. Very spacious, clean, bright and open and the renters are very accommodating. Highly recommend!

“Spectacular sunsets and lots of bathrooms”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2016

Our family stayed here in August and we were very impressed with the quality of furnishings and the attention to detail. All of the beds were high end and everything was truly clean and fresh. There is a pool table and ping pong table for recreation, lots of board games available for rainy days and a huge selection of children's books in the kids bunk room. The kitchen was well appointed, with everything you could possibly need to cook a meal. A bonus was the small refrigerator that we used just for drinks, which is a lifesaver in a large group. The sunsets were amazing and we had a great time in our kayaks and the canoe provided with the house. Having four bathrooms was such a treat. No one ever had to wait for a shower. The two separate sections separated by the long corridor allowed for the adults to gather in one area while the kids hung out in the front room with the ping pong table and tv. Would definitely come back if we decide to do this again next year. MUCH attention to detail. Thanks for a great time.

“50th Anniversary celebration”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2016

This was the perfect home for our weeks stay to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our family. There were 12 of us (6 adults, 3 teens and 3 children) and with 7 bedrooms and 5 baths, there was more than enough space for our family (and the size of the dining room table was perfect for all of us)! Everyone enjoyed the beach, swimming, fishing from the dock, canoeing and almost nightly bonfires in the firepit. And the pool table and ping pong table were a big hit. We enjoyed the convenience to many beach towns with trips to the beach, shopping and dining at some great places. We highly recommend Salt of the Earth restaurant in Fennville...great food and service. And I can't forget to mention the spectacular sunsets!! The owner Elizabeth is a pleasure to work with. All of us commented that this home fit our vacation needs perfectly. Our only suggestion is to purchase a WiFi extender as the WiFi box is in the front room and a lot of times we couldn't connect when we were in the back of the home.

Owner's reply: We are so pleased that you were able to celebrate such a special occasion in one of our homes, and we thank you for taking the time to let us know how much you enjoyed your stay. We will certainly make sure the WiFi is in good working order for your next visit!

“Perfect for all ages and large families”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2016

We had an amazing time here with our entire family of 18, including 2 toddlers. We had 10 grandkids there ages 1-18 and they all enjoyed it so much they asked if this was a yearly event! It is beautiful inside and we had plenty of room. The beach and swimming area was great for the small ones because it was shallow and the others also enjoyed the canoe, our kayaks, swimming and fishing. We love sitting around the beautiful campfire pit and watching some amazing sunsets . We weren't ready for it to end!

Owner's reply: We look forward to having your family stay with us next year, Lori!

“Great vacation home for large groups!”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2016

We enjoyed our stay in this absolutely beautiful home with 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a screened sun room, and a roomy deck and so much more. Our ten member multi generational family was very comfortable inside, outside (with the sand beach and pier, as well as the canoe), we did all of our meals right there. You can't go wrong at the Sunset Shores Lake House. Caught lots of fish too.

“Family Time at Christmas”

Reviewed 27 Dec 2015

Our family had a great time in this house, spending time playing games, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. The kitchen was well furnished and enough bedrooms for everyone.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

Fall weekend, October 14, 2015

By Patti Miriani Sima (mundelein, il)

My family got together to celebrate my mother's 81st birthday. There were 15 of us total, with ages ranging from 8 to 81. There was plenty of room for everybody, and with four full bathrooms there was never a wait. The kitchen was fully stocked, and there was a wide variety of boardgames to keep us entertained. The pool table and ping-pong table or favorites too. The view was outstanding! I can't imagine a better spot to accommodate so many different people. The house was all that it was advertised to be , And then some.

Very beautiful, very spacious, very well-decorated. It was equipped with all pots, pans, crockery, and I was surprised to see the tea kettle as well. Our group of eleven friends had good two-night stay. It was so clean when we walked in that it made us want to leave the place the same way when we left. I would recommend this place to every one I know and am planning to go there myself, too.

This vacation was truly the best time I've had in a long time. Our friends and family had such a good time playing game, enjoying the water sports, bonfires every evening, and pool table tournaments every evening. The large spacious Lakehouse provided plenty of room for everyone. Our group what's more than impressed with this house, and plan to return next year.
