“Great place for a famiy gathering.”

Reviewed 9 Jun 2019

When we arrived this home was "ready" for us. Clean, airy, open, bright, yes it felt welcoming. Walking in the back door we got an immediate overview of what was made available for us -- ping pong, pool, TV, comfortable furniture right there. Then a long hallway with bedrooms bathrooms, laundry leading into a bright two story great room big enough to hold a dance. Glass all around and open to the lakefront just down the walkway. Beautiful deck with tables, chairs and grill. We have been here before and still both joyed and relaxed once again. Thanks, ya'll.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us about your stay in our home, and we are so pleased that you were able to relax and enjoy your family time in a place that made you feel comfortable and welcomed!

“Happy summer family days”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2018

Our multi-generational family ( ages 4 - 77 ) recently enjoyed a wonderful week at the Sunset Shores Lake House. We were delighted with the design of this home - all living spaces on one level, the handicap accessibility, the large kitchen, play, seating areas, and screened in porch. Our group of 13 fit easily around the big dining room table. The younger members of our troupe spent many happy hours playing in the sand, and the shallow water at the lake's edge was perfect for their water fun. Our last evening was spent around the fire pit - making s'mores and watching a beautiful Michigan sunset. What a wonderful way to engage with loved ones.!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for letting us know that you enjoyed your family time in our home. We love to hear about all the things that made your stay special, and we look forward to helping you with all your vacation and family event needs in the future!

“Such a beautiful experience!”

My family had such a wonderful time celebrating my mom's 50th birthday at the Sunset Shores Lake House! Great for large groups and this house has everything you need....we really only needed to bring the food. We got to fish, sit by the fire pit, and hang out in the living room. The rooms were comfy and the house itself was really cozy. We will definitely be back!!

Owner's reply: We are so pleased to know that your family celebration was everything you hoped for and more, and we can't wait for you to visit with us again very soon!

“Great Place for a big group but a few things to know before you go!”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2017

We had a group of 12 friends stay at this house in Pullman Michigan, and it was a great space for that many people! We loved how there were 2 larger gathering areas, and we also loved how each of the bedrooms were roughly the same size. A few things to know before you stay here--the house is in the country and had many fruit flies lurking inside, so I recommend bringing bug spray and closed containers to keep food in while indoors. Second, we were only given one roll of paper towel for the entire weekend for 12 people to use to clean AND for napkins, and each bathroom only had one roll of TP in it, so I recommend bringing extra napkins/paper towel and TP to use during your stay. We had to run out on Saturday morning to buy more of these supplies.

Owner's reply: We are so pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay in our home! Thank you for reminding our future renters that we do provide minimal amounts of consumable/paper goods and cleaning supplies, which is clearly spelled out in our web ad and in each and every reservation confirmation. We appreciate the great tips on how to handle fruit flies as well, since they do tend to plague many Midwestern homes this time of year.

“Perfect for a large group!”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2017

We really enjoyed our week at Sunset Shores! We had 4 families with 5 small children and each family was able to have their own bedroom/bathroom. The yard was big enough for many games. The beach area was perfect since the water was shallow and the sand was clean. The guys in our group went golfing a couple of times, but the rest of us didn't leave, we just enjoyed the peace and quiet. We loved the long, large table for our group meals. The afternoon sun was too hot to enjoy eating at the outdoor tables since there were no umbrellas or shade. Overall, it was an excellent place for us!!

Owner's reply: Thank you for letting us know just how much you enjoyed your stay. We are definitely looking at some options for adding a bit more shade to the deck area for next season.

“Had another great week in Pullman!”

Reviewed 14 Aug 2017

Last year we stayed at the Sunset View location, and were very pleased. This year we decided to rent the larger Sunset Shores house. We were impressed as soon as we walked in. Plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms with an added bonus room. This is a great place for large or multiple families. The only downside to this house was there was very little shade and no patio umbrella. It was very warm to sit outside with no covering or umbrellas on the deck. Great kitchen was fully stocked, with lots of seating. Screened porch with a lake view was also added bonus. Hope to book again next year.

Owner's reply: We are so very pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay with us, Sally, and we hope you will book with us in the future. While we don't currently utilize table umbrellas due to serious safety concerns that arose from past experiences, we will certainly be looking into other options for providing a bit of extra shade for folks who can't tolerate a lot of sun or don't find the screen porch sufficient for their needs.

“Wonderful Home Away from Home!!”

This darling Sunset Shores Lake House couldn't be more charming! This house is perfect for a dual family reunion - so many bedrooms, bathrooms and communal spaces for dining and fun! The cleanliness of this house is impeccable which is a major bonus! The green space and sandy water access are ideal for children's play. We had a fabulous week!

Owner's reply: We are so pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay in our home!

“Great House For Entire Family!”

Reviewed 5 Jun 2017

This beach house was very spacious with plenty of bathrooms that sleeps up to 16. The view from back of house to the lake is beautiful! Being located between South Haven and Saugatuck makes it very convenient short ride either way. The local stores came in handy less than 2 miles away. If you are a looking for a fun and relaxing place, this is the perfect place! We are looking forward to coming back next year! Also, Elizabeth and Jill are awesome and are very helpful!

Owner's reply: We love hearing from our renters and we are so pleased to know that you and your family had so much fun on the lake! We can't wait to have you back; be sure to book early if you want your pick of peak summer dates!

“Great getaway for adult couples”

Reviewed 7 May 2017

All in all, the Sunset Shores Lake House was excellent for our group of 6 couples. We were looking for a getaway without children and found this house which had 7 bedrooms to accomodate us. The bedrooms were all the same size which made it nice to not have to pick straws, and the house was done up very nicely! Tile floors, comfy furniture, a georgous long dining table perfect for all group meals and games! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook meals and serve everyone. And having 4 bathrooms for 12 adults was excellent! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it really wasn't near anything! We had to drive at least 15 minutes to Fennville for Salt of the Earth dinner (DELICIOUS!) and a winery tasting at Fenn Valley Winery (would highly recommoned). Also, it was a rainy weekend when we went so we couldn't enjoy the lake or any watersports on the lake. We would rent again if we had a need to go up to this area in the future!

Owner's reply: Here's hoping your next trip is less rainy, and we are so pleased to know that our home exceeded your expectations.

“Perfect home for large group/family.”

Our family rented this house for the week of Thanksgiving. We found the house was very clean and provided everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. The lake view was spectacular from the deck and our children had plenty of room to play out back. We would not hesitate to return.

My family got together to celebrate my mother's 81st birthday. There were 15 of us total, with ages ranging from 8 to 81. There was plenty of room for everybody, and with four full bathrooms there was never a wait. The kitchen was fully stocked, and there was a wide variety of boardgames to keep us entertained. The pool table and ping-pong table or favorites too. The view was outstanding! I can't imagine a better spot to accommodate so many different people. The house was all that it was advertised to be , And then some.

Very beautiful, very spacious, very well-decorated. It was equipped with all pots, pans, crockery, and I was surprised to see the tea kettle as well. Our group of eleven friends had good two-night stay. It was so clean when we walked in that it made us want to leave the place the same way when we left. I would recommend this place to every one I know and am planning to go there myself, too.

This vacation was truly the best time I've had in a long time. Our friends and family had such a good time playing game, enjoying the water sports, bonfires every evening, and pool table tournaments every evening. The large spacious Lakehouse provided plenty of room for everyone. Our group what's more than impressed with this house, and plan to return next year.
