Description of the Punaluu vacation condo rental
Oahu is called the "Gathering Place" and is home of Waikiki, Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor. The windward side retains the subtle feeling of old Hawaii, a Hawaii before the multi-story hotels and condos of Waikiki and the urban traffic, hustle and bustle of Honolulu. It still has that wonderful sense of "Aloha" that you are welcomed and a friend.

Pat's a Punalu'u is about 30 miles from Waikiki and the Honolulu International Airport. The condo sits on a quiet, reef-protected beach, which is great for kids. The water is about waist to chest deep along the beach and is excellent for snorkeling. There is also a fresh water swimming pool, outdoor shower, exercise room and sauna.

From the lanai you have a full palm-dotted view of ocean and mountains. The condo is only five miles from the number one tourist attraction on Oahu - the Polynesian Cultural Center - and a short 15-minute drive to the winter surfing competition at the "Banzai Pipeline" and "Sunset Beach." You are 45-minutes from the nightlife of Waikiki or snorkeling at Hunauma Bay.

Our one-bedroom "end unit" can accommodate up to five guests. It has a full-size kitchen and a washer and dryer...though you will probably be "living" in T-shirts, shorts and swimsuits. The condo has ceiling fans, cable TV, stereo and lots of books - including many guidebooks to Hawaii. We provide beach chairs, towels, a beach umbrella, snorkeling equipment, ice chest and other items for your trips to the beach. All you need is your sunscreen and swimsuits

Amazing Condo

September 20, 2014

This was an amazing condo to stay on the north shore. Very nice view of the ocean from the balcony. This place has a great kitchen. We cooked meals and are dinner overlooking the fabulous private beach. This condo had all the beach equipment to have a great time. Several local grills with amazing food and All the local fruit stand you can handle very close to the condo. Can't wait to go back. Very nice place!

Owner's reply:

Thanks Chris. You were wonderful guests and we can't wait for you to return to paradise again :)

Punaluu rental

March 16, 2011

We enjoyed our stay - everything was exactly as the owner told us up front. It was nice to have all of the "necessities" there when we got there. Only complaint was the septic smell out front - they should be able to do something about that! We would rent here again.

A great rental condo

August 25, 2010

This condo has an awesome ocean view. The wrap around balcony gave even more space to relax and enjoy the view. The condo included all the kitchen and beach accessories to make our trip wonderful. The breeze from the ocean kept the temperature very comfortable and relaxing.

Kulimia Estates at Turtle Bay

August 9, 2010

We stayed 8 days in this cute condo. The condo is located within the Turtle Bay property. It is nicely decorated in Hawaiian style. A very steep flight of stairs leads to an upstairs loft with two single beds. The balcony view is of the golf course. We enjoyed walking along the golf path to Lei Lei's restaurant for meals or cocktails. The food and service was excellent. It was also great to have beach chairs, towels, laundry, internet, and cable tv available for our use. The condo is just a short drive to some of Oahu's best beaches and a nice, relaxing change from the hustle of Waikiki. We would recommend a new mattress pad for the master bed. It was quite hard. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Wonderful Experience in Hawaii.

January 22, 2010

We rented the Waimea unit at Pat's at Punaluu. It was just as stated and pictured. Wonderful view of the ocean and we were surprised by whale sightings. The condo was very clean, and airy. Only a couple of things missing needed to make it perfect...a dishwasher, and a safe to keep valuables in. The garbage dumpster shoot was also right outside our door, and made for a bad odor in the bedroom. But that could be taken care of by the apartment manager, by sending some disinfectant down the shoot. All in all it was great. If we ever go back to Hawaii, we would consider renting it again...if it isn't sold.

OK, but hoped for more

December 7, 2009

We have mixed reviews of the condo. My wife definitely did not like how remote the location was, the lack of air conditioning and the call of the chickens at 4 in the morning. The room cooled off okay at night (but not great) but having the windows open made it difficult to sleep due to the nearby busy road and the chickens. The condo was clean and generally well-maintained. There were many small ants although this may not be too surprising given the openness of the condo and remoteness of the location. The view from the room was fantastic and the almost empty beach was great. We were very disappointed that the pool was ice cold as our kids were looking forward to swimming. I asked the owner about the pool before arriving. I was told that the pool was open. This isn't a lie as it was open. However, it was not swimmable. We saw nobody venture into the pool while we were there. We ended up staying in Honolulu 3 of our 6 nights in Hawaii due to the above reasons. This made for an expensive trip. We will not stay here again. Part of this is our own fault for not researching the remoteness of the location more. Our opinion would be much better if the condo had air conditioning and the pool was swimmable.
