“Awesome vacation house”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2016

We enjoyed our vacation in this spacious home. We had 5 adults and 2 small boys and never felt cramped. The wood floors and opened concept allowed us to spend a lot of time together. Great dock for the boat! Just a couple of minutes to open water. Great location to visit picnic island, Looe Key Reef or the Contents. The owner was only a phone call away and very accommodating.

“keys stay”

House is in a great location in a very pleasant neighborhood. House was very comfortable although was a bit short on kitchen accessories. We purchased a decent sized pan to cook fish and conch, a tenderizer for conch, mallets for stone crab. The house had electrical issues with a few lighting and fan fixtures but a rearrangement of lights and furniture provided a place to dine where one could see his food. Reportedly plans had been made to remedy these maintenance issues. I would not hesitate to enjoy this home again however.

Lovely home with spectacular ocean views! We had a wonderful stay; very quiet area with many amenities. The home is located in an area with great restaurants and entertainment. Enjoyed kayaking in the beautiful, calm water. Loved sitting on the deck enjoying our morning coffee and the ocean breezes. Would love to return someday! The Reinke, Mehrens, and Stangl families

“All around, great experience!”

The home is very well equipped - it had a surprising amount of kitchen equipment, including herbs and spices and utensils. Everything was very clean and organized and comfortable. The drive to the keys was closer to around 30-45 minutes because of traffic, but still not a bad drive. The two sliding glass doors leading out to the porch were very heavy and hard to open. One of them also didn't shut completely the entire time we were there. If you have any Mac products, connecting to the WiFi is a bit more challenging, since Mac products don't like the Push-To-Connect routers. The password for the WiFi is in the top left drawer of the entertainment unit and it is circled on the manual for the router - it is NOT on a sticky note on the fridge, no matter how many times the property manager insists that it is :p. My non-Mac laptop had no issues connecting to the WiFi. The floor area of the outside is covered in abrasive rocks, which you cannot walk around on barefoot. Bring water shoes! Also, seaweed was built up on the boat dock and we slipped and fell multiple times getting the kayaks in and out, but no one got injured. There are almost zero fish off of the boat lift dock, so don't try fishing there unless you have a good luck streak. The house has a stunning view, with no built up condos or resorts anywhere near it. It's very close to two restaurants that play live music, Looe Key and Boondocks, but it's far back enough that it is very quiet and serene. There are also board games to play, which was an unexpected treat. The nearest grocery store is a Winn-Dixie that you will easily miss from the road, unless you're really looking for it. It's about 15 minutes away. Bahia Honda, a beautiful beach, is only about 20 minutes away.

Owner's reply: Jaclyn, Thank you for your review. Plan on upgrading sliding glass doors as they do stick. Unfortunately, the seaweed is seasonal and wind driven so difficult to control. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Take care, Cecilia Holbrook

“Best R&R”

We stayed for a month and could have stayed longer. House is perfectly equipped. Kayaks provided hours of exploring. Incredible view - sunrise to sunset right from the living room. Very comfortable size. Only disappointment is that it is rented for next winter already!!!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much, Sally. We love hearing that our renters love the place as much as we do. Sincerely, Cecilia
