Excellent in every way!!!

Everything about this cabin is awesome! It is absolutely beautiful in design as well as very tastefully decorated - - - it really could be pictured in a magazine! It is also very well stocked with anything you might need as well as lots of extras. It was special to have all the comforts of home without packing towels and linens and knowing the ones waiting for us were professionally cleaned for our use. The memories our family made at this property celebrating our parents 60th anniversary will be treasured by all of us for a lifetime. The owners were very courteous and helpful as well. Our experience was pleasurable in every way!

Juniata Graduate weekend
May 20, 2014
We stayed at the Cook's Cabin for a long weekend for our son's Juniata College graduation. The house was comfortable but we really enjoyed the open plan kitchen/living room/dining room and the covered porch. While on the porch we were visited by hummingbirds and saw two indigo bunting birds. On a short hike we spotted deer on the property. We took advantage of the fire ring by building a fire every night and roasted a few marshmallows, yum! We spotted a porcupine on the road leaving one night and were surprised how fast it could run. The house wasn't hard to find following the Cook's provided directions and we really enjoyed the quiet. The parking lot was generous considering we had four vehicles in the parking area at one time and we still could use the fire ring which is located at the edge of the gravel parking area. Thank you Cook family for sharing your home with us.

Perfect Retreat for a Week!
October 29, 2012
Our goal was to relax and fish at Raystown Lake -- this was perfect. The setting in the woods is fabulously QUIET. Located minutes from the boat launch, and just as convenient to Route 22 (Huntingdon). CLEAN!!! Everything we needed to feel right at home and close to Walmart if we forgot something. The owners were easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions. I would definitely revisit this cabin.

Great Cabin, Fantastic Time
August 2, 2012
The cabin is gorgeous and in a secluded, pretty location (the road to it is a bit steep but worth it)! The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and the house was decorated very nicely. The cabin was close to everything we wanted to do (the longest drive was about 35 mins). The kids had fun riding their bikes and we loved the fire pit. The owners were very helpful and answered all my questions quickly. The information they had in the cabin of things to do in the area helped us plan our time. I would definitely return to this cabin if we go back to the area. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable time.
Everything we wanted and more!

The Cook's country Cabin was beautiful, clean, and extremely comfortable. We will definitely return next year. Our only regret is that we didn't stay long enough!!There is so much to do in the area we couldn't do it all in our short stay. This was the perfect get away for our family. The Cook's were very easy to work with. The Communication was excellent. Noone would go wrong with renting this cabin.
First weekend after Memorial Day
June 4, 2012
What a nice house! The place is situated at the end of a lane of about 5 houses on the side of a ridge. It sits above the other houses, surrounded on 3 sides by wonderful forest. The pictures are very accurate in capturing the space of the house. The lower floor is separated into 2 bedrooms on one side and a bath/laundry area and a living room on the other. Great for the kids to have their own space. Upstairs is a very usable kitchen (we did not cook in it, but we certainly could have). The rental provides a water cooler with spring water which was a nice surprise. Plenty of utensils, pans and plates/cups. The living room is open and has a DVD as well as satellite tv. Comfy and roomy. It also opens right up to that awesome wrap-around deck up top! The weather was cool, so we hung out on it a bunch. The master bedroom has a king bed with a nice four post frame and a top frame. The second bedroom has a queen and both rooms accommodated 2 adults each very easily. The upstairs bath is not huge, but not small. Two can operate in it, but it's better if just one person is in there getting ready at any one time. Lake Raystown resort is just down the hill and a very nice recreation area (Tatman Run) is also very close which features a beach, some picnic space and a nice play area for youngsters. The management (Liz to be specific) was VERY accommodating and friendly and helped us out with a change in plans with nothing but a smile in her voice. I really appreciated her communication and all that was done to provide information on our vacation from start to finish. A remote location with a nice, big, comfy home that felt quite clean, safe and welcoming.

Hard to believe, but better than expected. Cabin was perfectly situated in the peace and quiet yet just close enough to civilization for any need you may have. Beautifully decorated and furnished with anything you might need(pots, pans, dishes, etc..). It was a very warm and inviting home that made all of us jealous of the ownwers. Patricia was an excellent hostess. She was extremely nice to deal with on the phone and via email. They provided a small welcome package and a scrapbook filled with local information and personal suggestions. We arrived a little early and even the cleaning lady was extremely pleasant and helpful. She also gave us some local info. We came with some friends and their kids and had a wonderful time. As suggested by the Cook's, we took them to the cove to fish and all the kids caught 4-5 huge(just kidding, actually tiny, but 3 year olds think they are huge) fish. The water park is only 20-30 min away and the kids loved it. Ok, the grown-ups did too. It had been years since we were at that water park. We also went to Trough Creek State Park and hiked the trail with the swinging bridge. The kids thought that was cool and all the parents were yelling "Dr. Jones, Dr. Jones" like Indiana Jones. We also did a campfire one night and roasted marshmellos at the fire pit. This would also be a wonderful weekend get-away for just the grown-ups. It is quiet, warm, and secluded. To say the least, this was a wonderful two-night trip for our families and much of the enjoyment came from the cabin. Thank you Cooks for amazing accomidations, your helpfulness, pleasantness, and effort you put into your cabin. It has certainly paid off. I only hope this review does it justice. We would definitely love to return someday and have saved all of the information for later use. To anyone reading this review, do not hesitate to book this rental, trust me. Just make sure to leave a week or two each year open for us to return!!!
Great, relaxing vacation cabin

Look no further, this was a great vacation spot. We had a awesome time there. It is isolated enough, but still close enough to stores if you run out. We had 8-9 people and it was not cramped at all. Sitting by the campfire, on the huge deck, or down at the lake, it was a blast. owners were very friendly as well. have fun!
