Riverview mt hood trip

January 26, 2016

My friends and I stayed at Riverview for a snowboarding trip. We were amazed at how beautiful the cabin was and the atmosphere that was set when entering the cabin. Soft music was playing, homemade truffles were set out (made by Becca), and they even left Doggie biscotti for my furball Ozzie. I appreciated the gate off the pitch that allowed my dog to spend time outside without being able to run off. They also had great stainless appliances, an array of fresh seasoning in the cabinet, games galore, and wood already set up in the wood stove. The Sandy river is just short walk away and can be seen from the deck off the kitchen. And the hot tub really is nestled in the trees. The only negatives were so small we didnt really see them at all. There was a rip in the hot tub cover and the vacuum didn't work but that was so minor it didn't ruin my trip at all. We got discounted lift tickets through the cabin owner as well, saved us over $25 for lessons, rentals, and lift tickets. Great for us Newbies. I have to say, everyone in my group of 5 really wants to head back next year. Such a great birthday spent in a beautiful place.

Owner's reply:

Thank you! Such a beautiful review: very glad you enjoyed Riverview. Have to say we used the vacuum after your stay so I have no idea why it didn't work for you. Hard to keep the hot tub cover tear-free when there are storms with flying branches and some Guests tend to be a bit disrespectful with it. That said, the new one should be in shortly (I hope) at least that's what the manufacture said. Have a great year and see you again in 2017!

Riverview Chalet is an amazing place to stay. When they say waterfront view, they are not kidding! The river was really raging after a few weeks of snow and was a great place to go down and sit by. There is a fire pit by the river and also one by the house. The chalet is easy to find and also in a great spot and very quiet. There is extremely easy access to both Timberline and Meadows however the place itself is not something you need a 4x4 to reach. I would definitely stay at Riverview again.... my dog loved it too!!!

Thanks so much for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin on the river! We got a lot of use out of the fireplace on the upper deck and the BBQ. After spending the days fishing Trillium Lake and hiking some local trails we came back to this relaxing cabin and had a BBQ while listening to the sounds of the river down below. We will be back!

What a terrific cabin in a most beautiful setting. We had a great time - loved the hot tub and chimnea on the deck. The rushing river drowned out any noise from the road. I could wake up every day to the view through the pines to the river. So peaceful and private. Thanks for sharing. We loved it.

A simple thank-you does not do justice for expressing our gratitude for letting my family and I stay at your mountain home. Upon arriving, both of my children were beaming with joy and excitement, and as a mother, what else could I ask for. We loved the house, the hot tub and all of the adventures and memories made as we tried to fish the river, steps from your door. It is quite possibly, the best spring vacation we have had in a very long time. Thank you and we are looking forward to seeing what adventures we can find in the summer. Alaina and family!

Spent a lovely birthday weekend with family. The view and the wonderful house made it absolutely perfect. Your houses have an uncanny specialness about them in that they instantly feel like a "Welcome home"!!

Thank you for your generosity, flexibility and for sharing your beautiful chalet. The dogs ran, played and spent well, while we rested and relaxed. We cant thank you enough. We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay here celebrating our 1 year anniversary! This was also our Honeymoon cabin, so now it has become a lovely tradition. We'll be back! Thanks for letting us enjoy your lovely cottage!

An amazing cabin in an incredible location! Thanks so much for allowing us to stay here for a few days. It served as the perfect launching point for hiking along the Salmon River and for our hike up to Lost Lake Butte. Waking up to the sound of the river and relaxing our sore muscles in the hot tub were perfect finishing touches to a great trip. We definitely hope to return sometime!

Day Night Week Weekend Timer here means nothing Except there is just not enough Sun Rain Thunder Whispering Winds Raging River Feeling all of time In these Trees In this moment Thank you

Thank you for sharing your home with us. It was the perfect setting for some well-needed relaxation. Everything was very nice. We spent lots of time watching birds, relaxing by the river front and playing a very serious game of scrabble! Warm blessings

We arrived at the Riverview Chalet to the sweet sound of the river, the cozy fire, & holiday music. Charming! This cabin is so much more than a typical rental. It feels like you are in someone's home, nestled in their hospitality and most comfortable blankets. Speaking of comfort - the downstairs bed is the most amazing thing I have ever laid on. Laying down was like falling into a trap of clouds. We had a ton of fun playing ping pong in the garage and chopping wood for the fire. The location is ultra convenient & a very short drive to the store, but once we were in the cabin it was as if we had our very own secluded property. Definitely a 5 star chalet! And that hot tub! I would recommend the River Chalet to anyone looking for a mountain retreat. The 4 of us can't thank you enough.

My husband and I stayed here for a very needed 3-day weekend of relaxing, and relaxing we got! The cabin is very well-appointed, comfortable and beautiful. The trail down to the river was an excellent place for sunset pictures through the trees. Our pup dunked in the river (on a leash, of course, the current is strong). We spent evenings soaking in the hot tub, nestled in the trees and followed it with chiminea fires on the gorgeous porch, playing card games on the table. I honestly haven't stayed in a better rental in the area (and I've stayed in many). Not that the others were bad experiences but this one really sets the bar high. Cannot wait to return!

The moment we pulled in the driveway we felt welcome. The towering pines enveloped us, the music echoed in the warm cabin, and many comforts of home that were absolutely unexpected were found in this lovely cabin. The hot tub is surrounded by towering pines and has an excellent view of the river. The spot is perfect if you want privacy along with the sound and the beauty of the tumultuous river. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a Thanksgiving meal. It was the perfect place to spend a Thanksgiving week with my daughter and her boyfriend (and the dog loved it too).
