Description of the Ridgway vacation home rental
A beautiful log home with with unobstructed views of the San Juan mountains and partial view of the Cimarron mountains. The stars at night are unbelievable since the air is so clean. Some people say that along the escarpment is the prettiest view in Colorado and this why it is called Inspiration Point. Many weddings are held here because of the breathtaking setting.

Outside decks provide a great place to relax and enjoy the views and wildlife. 3 hiking trails are a block away. The house comfortably sleeps 8 people with king bed, queen bed, twin beds and a futon that makes into a double bed. DirecTV., local telephone, high speed WiFi, books, DVD's, exercise equipment, bicycles, hiking poles, etc. are for you to better enjoy our beautiful area. A cozy pellet stove is in the living room; electric heat throughout the home; and electric blankets on all of the beds; ceiling fans in the upstairs bedrooms & living room. Everything needed to make your stay enjoyable & memorable is furnished.

The kitchen has all of the dishes, utensils, pots and pans needed to make meals. A gas grill is just outside the kitchen door on the deck. Both Keurig and regular coffee makers; crock pots of all sizes; and more. The only appliance missing is a dish washer so you have to "rough it after meals". But not to worry, there are plenty of nice restaurants nearby when the urge hits.

We are in the middle of some of the best mountain Jeeping and hiking trails in the nation. We look at Mt. Sneffels, one of the 52 "fourteeners" in Colorado. A fourteener is a mountain that is over 14,000 feet.

Some of the best fly fishing in Colorado is close by; a beautiful golf course is less than 2 miles from the house; river rafting is available in two different rivers. Two different hot spring pools are less than a 30 minute drive.

Wildlife abounds...from gorgeous mule deer (see the pictures), to wild turkeys; bobcats; one bear last year; beautiful birds; elk in our area in the winter and at higher altitudes in the summer months.

Sunrises and sunsets over the mountains leave you breathless. Double rainbows across the valley are not uncommon.

The beauty of the San Juan mountains cannot be described sufficiently with words. Take a look at some of our photos to see some of the beauty of the seasons.

Whether you are looking to relax in a beautiful setting or an action filled world, you will be in the right place for either...or for both.
Area Information
We are in the middle of the San Juan mountain range and a short drive to the Cimarrons. John Wayne's movie, "True Grit", was filmed around the area. If you are familiar with the movie, you can still see some of the settings as you drive around on Last Dollar Road, Owl Creek Pass and the town of Ridgway itself.

We are less than a one hour drive to Telluride; and 30 minutes to Ouray, the Switzerland of America;

The Uncompaghre river runs from high on Red Mountain pass down thru Ouray, next to the Million Dollar highway, through Ridgway and into the Ridgway State Park reservoir.

There are several high mountain lakes for hiking and fishing. Ouray County is perhaps the best county in the U.S. for high mountain Jeeping. The best ice park, for ice climbers, is in Ouray.

Many good restaurants area around. Some of the best places to eat are to put your food in a back pack and take off down trails...from easy to difficult.

We can get carried away with describing the beauty of the area and all of the things to do. Just let us know what questions we can answer.

Best Vacation Ever!!

December 19, 2015

My family and I had the most amazing time!! There was plenty of room, the deck was beautiful! The view was breath taking!! we really felt like we were at home. The Dealys had everything we needed plus so much more! We were lucky enough to be there on Christmas and we had snow the whole time! It was our first white Christmas and by far the most magical! Any question we had it was answered right away. Plus I left my watch and they are mailing it to me! I didn't even know I left it! Very honest, down to earth, wonderful people! We hope to come back again!! There is a little bit for everyone there. My husband and I like to hike and there are a few trails right down the road. My mom and dad came and couldn't get enough of the view and the wild life. Plus my kids had a blast too!

Stunning views, wildlife abundant and secluded quiet area at this
fabulous home & property!!!
Me and my wife have been vacationing in this area for the past 10 years, we are very familiar with hotels and bed & breakfast inns throughout this area believe me. Me and my family stayed at this property for a week this July. To start off with the house has everything imaginable that you may need during your stay. I have stayed in other properties and NONE of them are in the same league as this one. The mountain vista views through the large glass windows in the living room is therapy for the soul. Every morning and evening there were deer and one time 5 LARGE mule deer bucks 15 yards from the wrap around porch feeding. There were families of turkeys, baby deer fawns, hummingbirds and many birds at the feeders by the deck. It is a wildlife preserve on this property. It is ideal for the person that wants quite times, with no traffic to listen too. All day long you may see a total of 5 vehicles pass by. Perfect hiking right out the door of this house. The owner made sure we were 100% satisfied and had all we needed. We have ATT&T cell phones and we had 4-G service and the WI-Fi was awesome. There were DVD collections for the whole family. Kids, cartoons movies if needed. If you are looking for a quite place to stay, with everything you may need and not far from Ridgway, Ouray or Telluride then look no farther. You will NOT find a place with this many amenities for the price nowhere in the area. Lord willing I will be back next year and hopefully many years to come. As long as this property is available and will have us I will look no further!! Sincerely Tim G. Lake Charles, La.
