Description of the Roatan vacation villa rental

Vivaro is the high end, private, luxurious house in West End you have been looking for. You are not steps away, you are on the white sand beach of your dreams. Vivaro, completed in October of 2014, is an oasis of panoramic views with incredible snorkeling steps away, a large relaxing infinity pool, luxurious amenities, and a private but very convenient location.

Vivaro is in the West End. By car are you less than 5 minutes to the heart of West End. There are no comparable private beachfront homes this close to West End. Be careful to understand the location of each property you are considering. Vivaro is a private home - not a hotel. It is privately managed, well maintained, and a personal vacation home that is rented sparingly throughout the year to vacationers who will respect and enjoy the house.

The house is a 4500 square foot luxury home built directly on your own 115 wide by 78 feet deep white sand beach. In front of you is stunning Mangrove Bight and the Meso-American reef - the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere. From your morning coffee on the deck to floating in the creative infinity pool at sunset, you will not want to leave. The house sits on a 3/4 acre lot which offers plenty of space and privacy.

The central great room is spacious with extremely large accordion doors that open onto a sprawling deck with stunning views.

The 2500 square feet of outdoor deck space surrounds a large infinity pool with a tanning ledge and offers spectacular views of Roatan's fabulous reefs and spectacular sunsets. There is ample furniture, from lounge chairs to sun beds, to a large shaded table for all your group to relax, sun, play games, or read.

The four spacious and identical master suites each face the ocean and each has a large deck. The master bedrooms feature Honduran wood floors, blackout curtains and luxury linens and towels. The large bathrooms with marble counter tops include rainfall shower heads and private toilet rooms.

The fifth bedroom is a large bunk room - perfect for children or a group room. This room has 24 feet high ceilings. Custom triple bunk beds handmade of Honduran hardwood feature two doubles on the bottom topped with 2 twin beds (6 beds in total). The lofted media area includes a twin trundle bed, a television and dvd player, and lots of pillows to relax, nap, or watch movies. This room has a bathroom with a rainfall shower and a separate toilet. Kids or adults will love the comfort and space of this room.

There is a also powder room in the great room and a 7th bathroom with separate shower and toilet outside below the pool on the sand.

The chef's kitchen is large with white stone counter tops and dark Honduran wood cabinets. The GE gas cook top is on a substantial island with seating for four. All appliances are top of the line GE. The double door refrigerator conveniently has 2 ice makers. The kitchen has been meticulously outfitted with high quality knives, cookware, dishes, silverware, etc.

Our goal is for Vivaro to be as energy efficient as possible. Every option from LCD lights to energy star rated appliances help to conserve daily usage. The power on Roatan is diesel generated and there are frequent, but brief outages. At Vivaro, because of solar panels and battery storage you thankfully will never know when the power goes out. You will have lights, AC (in the main house bedrooms - AC in loft room and 2 masters on left side of the house will not work during power outages), water, and be able to cook. Internet and TV also go down during power outages - this is usually the only reason we know there has been an issue.

The solar power you use is included. However, is is not enough to power a full house. There is a 42 cent per kilowatt hour charge (this has been thankfully declining - you will be charged the most recent rate if rates continue to decline) for your groups electricity usage. The house is solar powered with a large battery back up system. With intelligent and careful use of AC, lights, and fans this charge should be minimal. This means AC only at night or when in the room, AC set at around 22 degrees, lights and fans off when not needed, etc. The battery back up can only support the house at night or during a power outage if it has time to charge. Energy conservation should always be a goal if you want to minimize your charges. The meter will be read upon check in and again at check out. Charges will be deducted from your security deposit.

The central AC (the large great room and kitchen) and the two masters and loft room are not connected to solar. If you choose to use the central AC, there will definitely be usage determined when you checkout. The split unit AC's in the bedrooms are very economical but you should still turn off when not in the room to save charges.

Charges have ranged from $50 to close to $300 depending on the renters personal choices.

There is a $200 cleaning charge for all groups. This includes on average light cleaning 2 times in 7 days and a deep cleaning after your checkout. Sheets and towels will not be changed every day. Water is scarce and conservation required. We expect guests to keep the house and kitchen reasonably clean during there stay. If you desire more frequent cleaning please let us know so we can book a trusted cleaner.

We also include transportation from the airport to the house. (One car or van per group. We can help arrange additional cars if needed.) If you choose to rent cars, we will sent a driver to guide you to the house. We can help you arrange the return trip and quote you a price.

No guests or parties allowed without prior arrangement. Only those listed and paid for will be allowed at the property.

We are open to events. There will be additional event fees. Please inquire.

Reasons Vivaro is the right choice for your vacation:

*on a large white sand beach with few neighbors
*large infinity pool (plunge pools are normal on Roatan)
*back up batteries and solar power (power outages are frequent on Roatan).
*dedicated managers and groundskeepers - we can get anything fixed or helped if asked
*minutes from West End - dive shops, gift shops, grocery stores, beach bars and great fine dining
*peace and privacy all year - even during the busy season or cruise ship days

Reasons Vivaro might not be:
*Vivaro is self catering. It is a private home, not a hotel. We provide the stunning luxury house - you make your vacation the best ever. We provide light cleaning - not daily sheet changes etc.
*You will need to purchase and bring some household items - shampoo, body soap etc. Some cleaning supplies are provided but we hope you enjoy your vacation and leave the laundry for when you return home with wonderful memories. We have some snorkel gear but not enough for everyone. There might be some pool floats - or the last guests popped them all.
*We love feeling a bit local on fabulous Roatan - meeting new travelers, expats, and locals at Sundowner's is a not to miss activity. Experiencing the small grocery stores, buying some fruit on the street, meeting a local cat, realizing how loud the tiny mosquito eating geckos can be are the some of the many experiences that made us choose Roatan as our vacation spot. If some of this sounds awful to you, please choose another spot.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

Not just a rental home, A Private 5 Star Resort Island Home! We Truly enjoyed every minute of our stay here! We loved how the open layout catered to socializing, meals and outdoor activities and feeling connected, even while preparing food and drinks. You can escape for a mid day nap to your private Master Suites; or for the kids, their beautiful custom bunk-beds and loft with TV and gaming station. Comes with full amenities and loved The Kitchen and it's Two dishwashers! Vivaro is Convenient and full of fun activities right on it's private property. We had a great time on the paddle-boards, swimming and snorkeling right out front off the private dock. The Sunsets from the infinity pool are breathtaking! Renting a car from the airport allowed us freedom to explore this beautiful island and go 10 min into West End to experience the local Roatan food and night life, Delicious and Super fun! We even got to swim with the dolphins during our stay here! The booking and customer service was refreshingly smooth and helpful. We loved the care takers. They are really nice, easy to work with, very knowledgeable about the island and full of recommendations! Vivaro is my forever pick when staying in Roatan and can't wait to return!

My family (mom, dad, four boys ages 16, 14, 10, 10 and our oldest son's girlfriend 16) and my sister's family (mom, dad, three boys ages 15, 10, and 8) stayed here for a week for Spring Break. We have traveled the world and stayed in some fabulous places?and this home is among them. The home is right on the beach and the water is beautiful and calm. Every day our kids were outside swimming and snorkeling. There is reef a few hundred yards out directly in front of the property. We all snorkeled out to it and enjoyed looking at the fish. There are paddle boards, which we used every day. The kids saw a giant puffer fish, baby barracuda, tiny cuttle fish, etc. While the kids were in the ocean, the adults enjoyed the pool (the kids enjoyed it as well), expansive deck and had drinks. The deck and pool area were fabulous?a huge table that seats 8 (we ate and played games outside every day), a grill, lounge chairs, sofas, reading areas, umbrella, overhead fans, hooks for hanging wet towels, etc. The house was just as great. There were four master suites (comfy pillows, mattress, bedding/blackout curtains/AC/walk in shower/plenty of room for clothes and two overhead fans/balcony). Additionally, there was a kids bunk room, complete with an overhead loft game room, which the boys loved! There is a HUGE family room, which opens to the kitchen and huge family style dining table. It has a flat panel TV, overhead fans and commercial grade folding doors that open to the pool area. The kitchen was a nice surprise as well. VERY high end, probably the best I have ever encountered in a rental vacation home. This was nice, since we spent so much time at the house. Stainless appliances, TWO dishwashers, blender, crockpot, coffee pot-regular & French press, filtered water, microwave, NICE dishes, stainless flatware, etc. It is the kind of kitchen you would expect in a nice high end home. You can tell that the owners put a lot of thought and effort into this home. The owner, Tanya is VERY easy to work with and very responsive. When emailing her, she usually responded within hours. She had a lot of information regarding Roatan, which was very helpful in planning our trip. Ron and Bonnie are the house managers. They live onsite behind the property. Very discreet, but there if you need them. There is also a security company that patrols the property?we felt very safe. If you are looking for a perfect luxury island getaway, Vivaro is the place.

We stayed in Vivaro during our family spring break and had an outstanding trip. The house has truly comfortable suites (excellent bed, huge shower, icy cold A/C, great decor, and they are big bedrooms), an impressive great room to hang out and enjoy the view, and a kitchen equipped for any gourmet cook. The owners have really put significant thought into the beach house experience. Outdoor showers and a bathroom await you at the beach level, lots of shelves and hooks for shoes, towels and sunblock, and cool little decorator touches to tie it all together. We swam daily and snorkeled both inside and outside the reef (world class reefs are just outside the lagoon), enjoyed the pool and huge deck, and caught sunsets each day which were perfect. The quick trips into the West End make it ideal for this part of the island for scuba diving or night life--yet far enough away to be quiet and have no foot traffic. A great getaway spot where were felt safe, secure, and had a great Roatan experience.

Vivaro is a truly stunning house in a pristine location - even better than the pictures which really don't do justice to the size of the house, its white sand location, the unforgettable views from the decks and pool, and the tonnes of luxury amenities. Our large group of kids and adults had plenty of space to be together or to find a quiet place to read or rest. The kids loved the bunk room. Ron, Bonnie and especially Calixto keep the property immaculate and were available to help us with anything. We snorkeled and used the paddleboards right in front of the house most every day. The reef is truly outstanding...amazing fish everywhere. Horseback riding along a nearby beach was a great side adventure. Half our group did a discover dive with a local dive shop recommended by the owner and 2 of our teenagers even got certified. My other son and I are planning to finish our certifications this next Spring on our next vacation there. We loved the old fashioned and still very authentic seaside village of West End. Our favorite diner and hang out spots were Oasis, C-level, and Sundowners for drinks. West End is only a few minutes away on a fun dirt road and just a mile more on the main road...easy and cheap parking lots are in town. Simply a fantastic family vacation. Sunset in the pool at Vivaro is hard to beat and there were many days we did not want to venture far from this amazingly beautiful property and home.

my wife and i stayed for a week in june and it was living in the lap of luxury. infinity pool was awesome. only needed the AC in our rooms to sleep at night. we didn't bring kids, but kids room/bunkbeds are awesome, and the couples that brought kids could enjoy time away from their kids while only a few feet away. nightlife was fun with some good restaurants on the beach, bakery down the street for morning pastries, had fun zip-lining during a thunderstorm, world-class snorkeling right off the dock in front of the house around the reef.

Perfect beach retreat! The home is immaculate and extremely well-appointed. Rooms are very spacious with beautiful furniture, ample storage and comfy beds. Once the sun goes down, nightlife in nearby West End is hopping. You really cannot ask for more.

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Vivaro during our vacation in Roatan. The house is beautiful and modern. The air conditioners worked great in the bedrooms, which is a big plus! The deck outside was great and we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the views. Tanya, the owner, was so helpful throughout the process, answering all of my questions and gave great advice on activities and restaurants. The wire payment process was very easy and we loved dealing with the owner directly and the onsite caretakers. Ron and Bonnie were helpful and also answered the many questions we had once we got there. I also want to give a big thank you to Calixto who took care of the property everyday. He was such a charming man, worked hard everyday with a smile on his face and really made our stay at Vivaro remarkable. The location of Vivaro was great. We rented a car and were just a few minutes away from the West End. I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again and hope to very soon.

My husband and I stayed in this incredible house while on a one week vacation in February. We came with friends and all of us had an incredible time. The house is luxury in paradise. When you walk into this house you instantly feel that you are on a tropical vacation. The living room has invisible doors so that you are outside and inside at the same time. The living room seamlessly flows out onto the deck with an infinity pool and a private sand beach directly below. There is a reef with great snorkeling directly off the beach. All the rooms are master suites with views so that there were no issues between friends. The island itself was a true tropical vacation. The locals are very friendly and fun and we met a lot of people, went to the beach, snorkeled and swam and had a generally good time. That being said, this house is so incredible and in such an amazing location that you really don't have to leave the house. Having mimosas with a sunset view directly from our own infinity pool was life inspiring.

Beautiful home, private beach, private pool, enough space for several families! Only went out to eat twice and took advantage of the beautiful kitchen and BBQ pit. The only downfall was to leave this gorgeous home!!
