Just sit and listen to the sound of nature and water rushing by will make you want to return again and again.

Our authentic log home is about 7 years old and is made on a western theme with real antler chandeliers over dining room table and another in entrance hall, antler pulls on cabinets.

Area Information
Located on a very private, acreage with good access, with rushing water out front and small branch on side of property. Another trout river about 2 blocks down. Just fish several trout waters and Lake Santeetlah is just about 3 miles down. Rent a boat, fish, swim, in Lake Santeetlah and Lake Fontana a short drive. Whitewater raft in the Nantahala River and a class 111 & IV plus rapids of the Cheoah River. (Check water release dates if you plan on rafting and or kayaking the Cheoah.) We are just a few trees away from Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest where the hiking is wonderful and much less stresful or hike The Appalachian Trail and other areas that requires more hiking skills. Travel the Cherohala Skyway, just a short drive from this cabin, which is part of the National Scenic Byway and has hiking, picnic, photo ops, waterfall and elevations of one mile (5280 ft.). Visit Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah's Casino and the Great Smoky Mountains. Don't forget gem mining and horseback riding and or just relax. We all need that to clear those cob webs.

Come enjoy nature at it's very best. We have a 4 season property with each as beautiful as the previous period.

Hope to see you soon. Happy & safe travels where ever life may take you.

Cute But Needs Housekeeping!

October 5, 2011

Cute little place, but the housekeeping needs serious improvement! Dead bugs, dust, cobwebs, dirty dishes in the cabinets, and rodent droppings. The upstairs shower leaked into the downstairs tub (which has no shower head) and the mounted boar's head in the stairwell is a hazard to anyone over six feet tall, and it's ugly....

Cabin was impossible to find with directions given, extremely remote on a gravel/dirt road and completely misrepresented on the web site.Dissapointed is an understatment. No access to land pictured to right of cabin shown in photos due to legal issues that we were not made aware of until the day before we traveled. On left side of cabin were washed out driveway ends is a mountain of construction debris that includes broken glass and cut sheet metal. Nice if you have kids!Fourtunatly we did not. View from the kitchen window looks directly at this heep. Washer, trash cans & area under small beds in attic "bedrooms" was filthy. Grill would not work with igniter. Had to buy a lighter. Back deck also a mess with rotting wood and dirty plastic chairs. Definatly would not reccomend or stay at this property or in this area again. Sorry. Caretaker Kay was a nice lady to talk to.

Front Porch

August 27, 2010

Sitting in the swing on the front porch was the best part of this property. The sounds from the creek across the gravel road was wonderful. Both bedrooms are upstairs which is not the best arrangement for old people! There is a land dispute so the yard has not been mowed in a long time. It is VERY remote which can be good and bad. The owner was great to deal with and sent lots of info on the area.
