“Picture perfect”

The cabin is adorable. Very cozy and secluded. We saw deer every day when we left for and arrived from our adventures.

“Beautiful”

My husband I stayed for 2 days at the Hide-a-way cabin. It was beautiful. So very peaceful. The cabin was very spacious for the two of us. Very tidy. The weather was a little chilly and wet, but that gave us an excuse too stay put and watch the wildlife right off the deck. We will be back!!

“Great vacation spot”

We spent 3 nights at this cute Hideaway cabin and really enjoyed it. It was very clean, well stocked with everything we needed and away from the hustle and bustle. The setting was breathtaking and a great place to stay while visiting the Black Hills.

“A Beautiful Cabin In the Hills”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2016

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and we loved it. While the cabin isn't modern, per se, it is greatly cared for. It's clean, comfortable, and very cozy. In fact, while there we remarked that the cabin was "just the right size" for us. From towels to wine glasses, it had everything we needed. We loved sitting on the porch and looking out at the beautiful Hills in the cool of the evening. The drive to the cabin includes a 12 mile stretch on a gravel road, which can get a bit long, especially if you're driving in the dark. But, we really enjoyed those 12 miles during the day, what a beautiful drive! We would recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet, cozy cabin in the heart of the Hills. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Owner's reply: Thank you for choosing our Hideaway Cabin as your Honeymoon Cabin, It was a pleasure to have you here. And remember, if you come by way of N. Rochford Road you have only 2 miles of gravel to the cabin !

“Thank You Glenda”

A friend and I stayed at this cabin for 2 days in July. We were riding the Mickelson Trail from Deadwood to Edgemont and this was our first stop along the way. We had arranged for Glenda to pick us up in Edgemont and taxi us to Deadwood from the Cowboy Inn in Edgemont so at the end of the ride we would have our automobile. From Edgemont up to Deadwood she pointed out sites of interest along the way.She also picked up a list of groceries I had sent her so we had food to eat when we arrived. The place is as described but the real beauty is how she makes you feel at home .I hope to return here some day. Thank you Glenda for helping make our Mickelson bike ride a success. **note** the picture she has posted of this A frame is not taken from the driveway side of the property. So, when you pull into the property it looks different.

Owner's reply: You are very welcome, Ken. It was a pleasure getting to know both of you. And I WILL try to take a few more photos to add to the listing. Keep on pedaling ! Thanks for choosing our Hideaway ! Glenda

“It is a hideaway cabin”

The cabin is exactly as described. We just thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet even though we are from a rural farm. The hosts were very nice and offered to help with anything needed but everything was already in place. The host gave us some excellent choices for restaurants and sites to see. Over all it was a nice place to stay.

“Resting in the the Black HIlls”

Glenda was a gracious host. The cabin was a great place to relax and unwind. Close to many area attractions. The only drawback is the gravel road to get to the cabin. Otherwise, great vacation spot!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind words, Sharon. Remember, If you come in to town on N. Rochford Road you have only TWO MILES of gravel to the cabin ! Glenda

“Stay at Cabin”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2015

My mom and I decided to go to the Black Hills for vacation. I started looking for cheap cabins because I knew we wouldn't be around for most of the day. We really enjoyed the cabin! It was bigger than what my mom and I are used to! It's also away from almost everything, which is really nice! It felt weird because my mom and I are used to noise, but we got used to it. Glenda and her husband are amazing people and also very helpful!

“Awesome Vacation”

The Hideaway Cabin is the perfect spot, a centralized location to all of South Dakota Black Hills and surrounding area. Glenda is a gracious host and always ready to help plan the day and give information on surrounding sites and eating places. The cabin is comfortable and clean, the bed is not the most comfortable but can be overlooked. Always deer to see on the hillside. We had a wonderful week traveling out each day from the cabin. Thank you Glenda for sharing your cabin with us.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to explain to me exactly what was wrong with the bed. The frame has been repaired.
