Looking to make some FUN family memories?? Wake up to the sunrise on beautiful Little Myers Lake!

A Slice of Heaven is conveniently located aprroximately 8 miles off of the 131 North 10 Mile/Rockford Exit. Passing through you will find the quaint & fun downtown Rockford. A great place to spend the day shopping in their delightful boutique's or enjoy romantic fine dining at the beautiful Reds on the River, overlooking the the Rogue River in downtown Rockford. Also, you will find various other hot spots to dine in downtown including The Corner Bar ~ known for their award winning chili dogs, as well as Vitale's Pizza, Cinco DeMayo, and Grill 111. Rockford is a lovely place to visit with a charmingly small "home town" feel.

Rockford also offers canoeing and kayaking down the Rogue River during the summer months, a free Jazz/Blues band every Tuesday night outside overlooking the Rockford dam, and a great bike trail (The Fred Meijer White Pine Trail) that goes all the way up to the middle of the state - just to mention a few highlights! Check out the internet for their route map.

For the winter months, the cottage is located just 5 miles North of Cannonsburg Ski Area for those of you that like to ski (downhill or cross-country, snowboard or tube!) Often you can find a Groupon for buy one, get one!

Or if you just want to stay put, slide down our back hill with the little one's, go figure skating on the lake, or bring your pole and go ice fishing for some yummy pan fish! We also have a fire pit for your use.

Back at the cottage enjoy your beverage, over looking the lake, bonding with the family over a fun game of Monopoly or game of your choice! We have various board games to choose from, toddler toys, movies to watch, and playing cards.

For the summer months, enjoy the spacious deck over-looking your private beach front. No need to pack beach chairs or beach toys ~ we provide it all! We have a paddal boat and 2 kayak's available for your use too! We try our best to accommodate you, so you have a stress-free, fuss-free stay.

Our cottage was completely remodeled in the summer of 2010. You will be pleased to find newer paint, carpet, stainless steel appliances, drywall, etc. This is one cottage that you won't (hopefullY!!) find dust bunnies or spiders!! You will be pleased to find a wonderful fully stocked kitchen as well.

We also completed our lower level (summer of 2012). You will be pleased to find a second bathroom, third bedroom, and a nice new rec room with sliders to the back yard. A big bonus for our little cottage :))

We do appreciate that you respect our NO PET and NO SMOKING policies. We also ask that you keep your party under 8, unless otherwise arranged.

Please contact us to reserve your date!!

“Great Happy Time”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2016

This was our second summer at the cottage and it was as good as the first. The cottage is layed out to spend family and friend time in or outside on the Wonderful deck. It was great for entertaining our family and friends. The weather was great and everything we needed was there. Thanks for providing all the things we needed; living in Florida and flyng in to spend time with family it helps to know that everything we need is there. Thanks to the owners

Owner's reply: Jane, I'm glad you found your go-to place to stay while visiting in Rockford! You know we love to have you back, and trust it is always a pleasant stay. In addition, you certainly cannot beat the MI Summer we've had, so the weather is just the icing on the cake! Thank you for your loyalty and return stay! Tom & Lesa

“Darling Cottage”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2016

We stayed in this darling cottage on our visit home for a high school/family reunion. It was perfect, and very accommodating. You won't be disappointed, there is everything you could want in this wonderful vacation cottage. Close to the quaint town of Rockford and some great shops and restaurants, and not to far from Grand Rapids. We enjoyed the birds, fish, bunnies, muskrats and the views of the lake. If you are out on the deck at night take a minute to enjoy the milllions of stars in the sky breathtaking!!! Did I mentioned we loved this little slice of heaven?! The weather was the icing on the cake, beautiful everyday! So blessed to have found this little gem! Hope to come back sometime.

Owner's reply: Thank you, Rose! We are so glad you enjoyed your time and had wonderful weather. It was especially nice to meet you and your three sisters - what a great group of gals! We hope to have you back for your next reunion! Tom & Lesa K.

“Wonderful place to stay!”

We loved the lake house! It was so open and bright with terrific views of the lake! We loved the layout of the house. Perfect for our family of 5! The accommodations were lovely. Anything I could think of was already there. My 4 year old daughter was so happy her room had a bag of dress up clothes in the closet. She kept saying "mom Lesa has all of my favorite things!" We cooked several big breakfast in the beautiful kitchen. We swam, used the kayaks and paddle boat. My children made sandcastles and even tried their first s'more! We were able to explore some of downtown Rockford, (My husband fell in love with this little town) On the last night there as we were lighting some sparklers the neighbors treated everyone to a fire works display! It could not have been a more perfect vacation. We hope to make it a tradition and come back next summer! Thank you so much to Lesa and Tom for opening up their home to us, we were able to make the most wonderful memories!

Owner's reply: Nanci, Thank you for the kind review, Nanci!! We are so glad you enjoyed the lake house. I'm sure is was a nice reprieve from the scalding temps that AZ has been having!! It sounds like some wonderful family memories were made! (and a bonus to have the fireworks display!!) win-win! Come back anytime and see us! Tom & Lesa

“Beautiful home and area, wonderful hosts!!”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2016

We needed a place to stay last minute during my son's state robotics competition in Grand Rapids. This home was a great find! Perfect to come back to after a long, stressful day. The lakeview is gorgeous! Plenty of room (family of 6) with a nice layout. Truly a beautiful home. We had really nice weather while there also, so the kids enjoyed the kayaks and the water. The owner, Lesa, was incredibly nice and accommodating. We asked to extend our checkout time after the busy weekend and since no one was checking in, she let us stay and enjoy the lake and home for the day. We really appreciated it! Definitely would recommend this location as a nice little getaway! We'd love to come back at a time we could just relax more when there!

“Perfectly homey”

I stayed here for ' girls weekend' to Grand Rapids and it was perfect. All the rooms were well maintained and clean, it was fully furnished and the owner is so easy going and flexible. I would love to stay there again and if you are looking for a quaint place to stay while enjoying the rest and relaxation of a beach house this is the perfect option.

Owner's reply: Thanks for the review, Dee! We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Maybe you can make it an annual girls get-away! We appreciate the kind comments - come and see us again! Tom & Lesa K.

“Great Cottage and Great Location”

Reviewed 16 Dec 2015

Our family stayed at the cottage for the week of Thanksgiving and really enjoyed it. The house is spacious and well decorated, and it became the perfect place for us to return to and unwind after a full day of visiting family and friends. It was fun to watch the geese land on the lake just outside, and the sunsets were beautiful. We did run into a bit of a snag with the main TV. We brought movies on our tablet, but couldn't watch them since the HDMI ports on the TV were broken. This is only an issue if your a tech geek like me. Apart from that, they owners provided every convenience for us. I definitely would recommended this cottage.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the kind review, Kate! We are glad you found our cottage welcoming. We apologize about the HDMI cable. We will be sure to address that issue for future rentals. We hope you are able to come visit in the summer sometime when you can enjoy the lake :) Thanks again, Tom & esa

“Very comfortable house!”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2015

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Clean, comfortable house - I wanted to take all the living room furniture home with me. Well-stocked kitchen with good appliances, peaceful location but close to things to do. The bluegill fishing off the dock is so much fun since the fish are plentiful in the lake and it was nice for swimming. The tap water does have a funny taste (nothing they can do about that) so I would recommend bringing your own water to cook with, drink, and use for brushing teeth. This home is a great value for the rental price and we greatly enjoyed the week we spent there.

Owner's reply: We're so glad you enjoyed your stay, Becky! Please come back and see us again :) ~ Tom & Lesa

“A Wonderful Weekend”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2014

My brother and I ran the Grand Rapids marathon the weekend of October 18-20, and were lucky enough to find this gem for our families to stay at. The home is beautifully decorated and warm, while quite modern and updated. The 2 stories, 3 beds and 2 baths were plenty of room for us 5 adults and 2 kids under the age of three to spread out. We loved that there were lots of toys for the kids to play with. The scenery out back is stunning, postcard worthy. We got a couple of early morning shots of the sun rising over the misty water, with the colourful trees bordering the lake....it's really something to see. On top of how great the house was, Lesa was friendly and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in the area. It's 5-10 mins from grocery stores and restaurants, and 20 mins or so to downtown Grand Rapids. We may even be back next year for another marathon :) Thank you Lesa!

Owner's reply: Thank You, Jessica! We are happy that our place fit your needs. It sure is pretty on the lake in the fall! Congrat's on your GR Marathon! We would love for you and your family to come back for a visit! All the season's here are beautiful !! Thanks for staying with us ~ Tom & Lesa

No complaints. Beautiful inside and out. I went with 3 of my girlfriends to celebrate our 40th birthdays and it was perfect. I would definitely come back with my family it's perfect for kids too. Thank you Lesa

Owner's reply: Thanks so much, Amy! I'm glad you girls got a chance to "get away" and celebrate birthdays and friendships! I'm sure there were many laughs and memories made. Definitely come and see us next summer with the kiddo's!

This was our second time to stay in Lesa's perfect cottage. It exceeded our expectations both times. Thank you for letting us stay so we can visit family on the big lake. It is now a little home away from home for us!

Owner's reply: Thank you for the nice comments, Lee!! We are so glad that you found us, so close to your relation on Big Myers! We appreciate how nice you leave it for us, too! We look forward to seeing you and your family again!! ~ Tom and Lesa
