Description from owner

Underwater green fishing light, private lighted pier on Copano Bay and great sunsets! Sit in backyard and site cast as the fish swim through the green glow from the underwater fishing light. Available for short term stays as well as monthly rates for Winter Texans.

There are 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths upstairs. Beds include king, queen and 2 twin beds. The main living and cooking areas are upstairs. The 3rd bedroom suite is downstairs. It includes a full sized bed, 2 twin beds, flat screen TV, and a sitting area and a full bath with a walk in shower.

This home sits on a small point on the eastern shore of Copano Bay. You are right on the bay...not on a canal - with a wonderful view of the sunset. Step from the kitchen through French doors onto your deck. The bay is at your feet. Down the stairs, a dozen or more steps across the yard and you are on the pier. In front of you is open water with the far shore miles away, barely in sight. It's the perfect family fishing spot - everything you need is right here.

You have your own private lighted fishing pier right in your backyard all to yourself. The pier has two benches, dual level platforms and a cleaning station with power and water. You have a 1200w high intensity fishing light which really brings in the fish at night! Access to a boat ramp is nearby at the causeway. Dolphin's Point is located right on the bay and in the heart of some the best saltwater fishing in the state.

Beautifully landscaped with privacy in mind, this house sits on an extra large lot. Catch trout, flounder, redfish, shrimp and crab from your private pier. Feed the seagulls from the deck and watch the beautiful blue herons hunt the shallows.

Dolphin's Point has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room with cable TV and a DVD player. All cooking utensils are provided as well as bed linens and towels. Please bring your own beach towels. Central air and heat, free wireless high speed internet access. Bring food, clothes, and personal items and get ready to relax!

Drink coffee in the shade every morning and toast the sunset over the bay at night. The palm trees, the fishing, the view, and the soft air of the Gulf Coast will relax you. Our home is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Enjoy your meals out in the open overlooking the bay. Spend the day beachcombing Padre Island then spend the nights fishing our private pier under the lights.

About the area

Rockport is the fishing and birding capital of the Texas Gulf Coast. Close to Corpus Christi and Port Aransas, warm tropical breezes from the Gulf of Mexico in summer and mild temperatures in winter make Rockport, Texas your perfect year-round vacation spot. Dolphin's Point is in the attractive Copano Ridge neighborhood, about 4 miles due west of Rockport. We are on the southeast end of beautiful Copano Bay. The water is 3-4 feet deep at our pier's end, perfect for bay fishing and boating - but no diving in! Copano bay is fantastic for fishing, but for swimming you have plenty of nearby beaches to choose from. Annual events within the Rockport/Fulton area include: Fulton Oysterfest, Rockport Art Festival, Fiesta en La Playa, Hummingbird Celebration, Rockport Seafair, and Christmas Celebration or Lights. The Rockport area is world famous for birding, first class fishing, whooping crane tours, kayak adventures, dolphin watching. Nearby destinations include: Texas Maritime Museum, Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, Rockport Center for the Arts, Copano Bay Causeway State Park. About 30 miles away in Courpus Christi is the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington. The Gulf of Mexico is 45 minutes away on Mustang Island at Port Aransas, with Padre Island National Seashore a little further. Rockport has a calm, shallow sandy beach right in town and it the state's only Blue Wave Beach. It's perfect for smaller children since there is no current or surf. Enjoy the serenity of the view from the back deck. Not only are the sunsets spectacular, but so it the birding. Here's a brief of the first 6 month of the Rockport Calendar of Birds: January- whooping cranes, sandhill cranes, snow geese, snowy and piping plovers, American Avocet and Marled Godwit February- Harris's Hawk, cranes, Great Kiskadee, Green Jay, Cactus Wren March-American Golden Plover, Sandpipers, Eared Grebe, hummingbirds April- broad winged Hawks, Mississippi Kites, warblers, vireos, thrashers, buntings, raptors May- over 140 species can be expected including warblers, tanager and more June- Cassin's, White tailed Hawk, Crested Cracara, Greater Roadrunner, Ladder backed woodpeckers, Scissor-tailed flycatchers Copano Bay is a nursery bay, and is permanently closed to shrimp boats throughout the year. As a result, the water is clearer, the fish more plentiful, and the fishing can be fantastic! If you don't catch your own, you can drive into town, over to Aransas Pass or down to Corpus Christi for some of the freshest seafood around.

Reviewed 25 Dec 2016

Nice place, everything you need to bust out a great weekend. Nice pier, caught a few keepers and were trying to beat the cold front but the place has awesome potential to break in the next generation of fishing ladies. A definitive summer return is for certain. If you are looking for room, privacy and get place to gather up the troops, book soon because we will. Thanks again, Tami.

Owner's reply: You are welcome Joel! I am glad all was good. I look forward to hearing from you soon.June and July are booking up fast!

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking time to let us know how we are doing. I am glad all was to your liking and look forward to hearing from you again.

“Lasting Memories”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2015

This was a great vacation. The home was very relaxing and had everything needed for our stay. The fishing was excellent. We caught trout, redfish, black drum, stingrays and sand trout. We experienced 2 large catches one 36 in black drum and a 5 ft gar (both were released). This was our second stay at this vacation home and both times we could not be more pleased. I highly recommend this vacation home to my friends and family. We will be revisiting very soon as well. Booking is easy and the owner is great. If u want a relaxing and fun filled vacation book vacation home.

Owner's reply: Glad you had a good time and wow what great fishing! Nice drum but that 5 foot gar looked real scary. Look forward to hearing from you again soon.

“Wonderful stay”

We arrived on Sept. 30 and stayed through Oct 6 at Dolphin's Point. The house was very nice and very well appointed. Decorated very nicely. It had lots of windows that were not shuttered so there was a lot of natural light. The pier was very nice with seating and 2 fish cleaning stations. We caught mostly sand trout and a couple of legal speckled trout. We were most lucky in catching crabs and that made my husband very happy. I enjoyed sitting out on the deck and reading, there was usually a nice breeze and always enough shade. The sunsets were beautiful and we were rewarded with seeing a lot of wildlife. There was a fishing eagle that visited almost daily, dolphins, white pelicans and some great blue herons. Of course there were lots of sea gulls but I am one of those people that love gulls. Could not have asked for a better place to stay and Tami Carson is a great person to rent from. She is very accommodating on sending the forms by mail and answers her emails promptly. Came back from this trip refreshed.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the view Rebecca. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. The wildlife is awesome to watch! I think the hummingbirds may be gone by now but they were a hoot to watch when we were down there! Look forward to hearing from you again.

Once we stayed at Tami's other home at redfish retreat, we knew We had to try her place at Dolphins point. The place was just as Spectacular. Very clean inside and out. We always check Tami's calendars for her places before we look anywhere else. ALWAYS A GREAT CHOICE :)

“Great Family Fun”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2014

This is a great family fishing retreat. We rented the lower bedroom, and the granddaughters had a fantastic time, in their own private bedroom, which has a great walk in shower. During the day, it was out in the water in kayaks, and at night it was fishing all night. The pier has adequate space for a large family to fish. The trout were biting on fresh and dead shrimp. We will definitely be back to Dolphin's Point.

Owner's reply: Hi Mary Ann- thank you for the review and I am glad that the new downstairs bedroom worked out well for you. I look forward to hearing from you again!

“Lovely vacation spot”

Dolphin's Point is a lovely home with a first class fishing pier on Copano Bay. Both the house and the pier are immaculately maintained and well equipped. This visit was our third, and we'll be back again - it's delightful.

Owner's reply: Thank you Tracy- Glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope to hear from you again next year.

“Great home! We love the downstairs suite!”

Reviewed 7 Nov 2013

My wife, my 15 month old son, and I went for a weekend excursion, and stayed at this beautiful home on Copano Bay. It couldn't have been better. We arrived in time to see the sunset, then we had a nice dinner on the picnic table overlooking the water. We stayed in the downstairs room, which could be called the penthouse. Beautifully decorated, easy access to the pier, and very comfortable overall. It was especially nice since our son could "get away" from the group to nap when needed. Great location. Great amenities. Great entertaining with friends. Even great fishing. We usually go once a year to the Rockport area, but now that we've found this place, we will try to make trips more frequently. I highly recommend this property.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the great review Roy. I am glad you liked the new addition. We look forward to hearing from you again!

“Great house, wonderful view of bay”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2013

We had a great time at Dolphin Point! We stayed in the newly remodeled 3rd bedroom downstairs and it was perfect - we could drink tea or coffee and look out at the bay from the windows in the room in the mornings, and we had a great breeze while sitting down there grilling burgers one night (before we caught our fish). We've been to this house a number of times over the years and there is often a fresh 'update' since the last visit - improved seawall, longer pier, new benches on the pier, better lighting. The Carsons really keep the house looking attractive and well-maintained . We enjoy watching birds, dolphins and other sea life as well - turtles! And yes, we do catch fish. We had enough to feed the houseful of us at our last visit. My little grand-twins are 3 and a half and just learning to fish, and this will be the perfect place to take them - having the separate bedroom downstairs will give us a nice mother-in-law plan for quiet naps for kiddos or grandma. Planning a trip back already.
