Description from owner

Directly on the West shore of Copano Bay and close to Aransas Wildlife Refuge. Walk out your private lighted pier right from your yard and be surrounded by miles of open water. Watch fish swim in the underwater light.

Bird watch and fish off your own private lighted pier in the backyard or just sit and watch the beautiful sunsets from our our home on Copano Bay.

Our home sits right on Copano Bay - not on a canal - not a 'bay view" - not 'bay access". Right on the bay. There is a huge deck on the bayside with a picnic table and a covered porch. This is the perfect vacation destination - it just doesn't get easier and more fun. Available for short term rentals as well as monthly for Winter Texans.

Come sit on our deck and watch the dolphins play! Drink coffee in the shade every morning and toast the sunset over the bay every night. Catch redfish, trout, flounder and blue crab from your pier. Watch the majestic blue herons hunting right in your own backyard. The palm trees, the fishing, the view, and the soft air of the Gulf Coast will delight you.

Rockport is also know as a birding destination. Here's a brief of the first 6 months of the Rockport Calendar of Birds:

January- whooping cranes, sandhill cranes, snow geese, snowy and piping plovers, American Avocet and Marled Godwit

February- Harris's Hawk, cranes, Great Kiskadee, Green Jay, Cactus Wren

March-American Golden Plover, Sandpipers, Eared Grebe, hummingbirds

April- broad winged Hawks, Mississippi Kites, warblers, vireos, thrashers, buntings, raptors

May- over 140 species can be expected including warblers, tanager and more

June- Cassin's, White tailed Hawk, Crested Cracara, Greater Roadrunner, Ladder backed woodpeckers, Scissor-tailed flycatchers

You have your own private lighted fishing pier right in the backyard - all to yourself with benches, two separate platforms and a covered cleaning station with power and water. You have a 1500w high intensity fishing light and an underwater light which really can bring in the fish at night! Access two private boat ramps right in the neighborhood and you are located right on the water and in the heart of some the best saltwater fishing in the state.

Our home has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room with cable TV and wireless internet. There are two bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom has a king and guest room has queen sized bed. The house sleeps 4-6 comfortably. There are 2 twin beds in the breakfast area. All cooking utensils are provided as well as bed linens. Bring food, clothes, towels and personal items and get ready to relax!

Located on the Live Oak peninsula, Rockport is a haven of ancient oak trees surrounded by water on three sides. Rockport is also home to a thriving art community, and along with Fulton, a treasure trove of old Texas history.

Redfish Retreat is in the Holiday Beach neighborhood, located on the northeast shore of beautiful Copano Bay on Lamar Peninsula. We are just across the Copano causeway from Rockport and Fulton on highway 35. The drive to town takes about 13 minutes. By boat you are just a mile or so by water from famed Turtle Pen Point.

The water is 3-4 feet deep at our pier's end, perfect for bay fishing, and boating - but no diving in! Copano bay is perfect for fishing, but for swimming you have plenty of nearby beaches to choose from. The Gulf of Mexico is 45 minutes away on Mustang Island at Port Aransas, with Padre Island National Seashore a little further. Rockport has a shallow, calm sandy beach right in town and it's the state's only Blue Wave Beach. It's perfect for smaller children since there is no current or surf.

Copano Bay is a nursery bay, and is permanently closed to shrimp boats throughout the year. As a result, the water is clearer, the fish more plentiful, and the fishing can be fantastic! If you don't catch your own, you can drive into town, over to Aransas Pass or down to Corpus Christi for some of the freshest seafood around.

You can catch your own dinner here - redfish, trout, flounder as well as shrimp and blue crab can be found right off the pier. “Wonderful sunsets, good fishing.”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2016

This is I think the 3rd time we have stayed at Redfish Retreat. Love the house and the private pier. The sunsets were remarkable and this photographers heart and cameras were full. My husband is the fisherman and he was not disappointed either. Caught total of 20 legal speckled trout and one redfish. Total of 19 huge blue crabs and 5 stone crabs made for some good eating and some fish to take home for future fish fries. Tami Carson is a great person to rent from and is fast to return cleaning deposits. Will definitely rent again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review Rebecca! October is such a wonderful month to be outside and I am glad the fish cooperated! I bet someone was busy cleaning fish and crabs!!!

“Awesome vacation spot!”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2016

We had a wonderful time here! The house is fully stocked, so all you need to bring is your food, clothes, and personal essentials. The owner (Tami) and the cleaning lady (Krystal) are both very friendly and helpful. The lighted pier is perfect for night fishing. We caught a lot of undersized speckled trout on artificial lures and on a popping cork with live shrimp. Can't wait to go back!

Owner's reply: Glad you had a good time Krystal! We look forward to hearing from you again.

“Anny Trip Favorite”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2016

Once again my husband and I had a wonderful anniversary spent at Redfish. We look forward to arriving and enjoy every minute. This year was rain but it didn't stop any of our plans and night fishing wasn't affected. Lots of keepers and lots that maybe we will keep next year. Sunsets and the birds are magnificent. The home is comfortable, clean and well stocked. Can't wait to get back.

“Redfish Retreat Mini Vacation”

Reviewed 19 May 2016

First off: the location! Nothing beats the house with private water access for fishing 24 h a day. The place is very clean, cozy and very well equipment with all necessities. Honestly, you would miss only a personal butler. Other than that, everything you need is there. We loved our 4 days stay. Even bad weather on one of those days was not so bad. We had games to play and TV with plenty of DVDs to watch. Very nice place for up to 6 people.

Owner's reply: I am glad you had a good time and I hope to hear from you again soon!

“Great place to getaway”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2015

Stayed three nights. Thoroughly enjoyable. Coffee and relaxation on the deck overlooking the bay. Fishing was good, several keepers with many throwbacks. Nothing like fresh fish for dinner two nights in a row.Comfortable and clean. Very quiet, especially mid week and off season. Will definitely be back.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the review Mike. I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Redfish Retreat. Catching dinner makes it even better ;o) Look forward to hearing from you again!

“Boys Weekend”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2015

Rented the Redfish Retreat for the second year in a row . Me and my three sons had a boys weekend. The house was in the perfect location to Goose Island which was perfect due to use going out with a guide fishing out of Goose Island. Fished from the peir two nights in a row. Had a blast the boys didnt want to come home. The view from the from the back deck was amazing couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The booking process was also very easy and had no trouble getting the dates that I needed. Thanks for the memories.

Owner's reply: Glad you and the boys had a good time! Hope to hear from you again soon.

“Great Get Away”

My husband I just returned from 5 wonderful days in Rockport at Redfish Retreat. We celebrated our 45th anniversary by shopping, eating out, and loving every minute spent in this home. Nights were great fishing, beginning about 9:30pm..lots of nice sized specks were caught. The pier is large, lights and underwater light and right off the back breezeway. The home is welcoming, comfortable, and clean. This was our 2nd time at Redfish and surely won't be our last.

Owner's reply: Happy 45th anniversary! Glad you had a wonderful time and that the fish even cooperated. I hope you had some memorable sunsets as well!

I just finished a 3 day stay here and was terrific! The weather was perfect the first two days then got a tad windy. Fishing on the private pier was very active. I had a great time. Also some great photo ops with beautiful sunsets and many, many hummingbirds.

My husband and I spent four wonderful days at Redfish Retreat. The house was immaculate and very comfortable. We had great time fishing off the pier and enjoyed watching the wildlife...especially the dolphins! Sunsets were my favorite. The only thing wrong with our trip was....it was way too short. Looking forward to planning a return trip!

Owner's reply: I am glad you had an good time at Redfish Retreat. I definately love ths sunsets too! Please do come back and stay longer.
