“Labor Day Weekend for 21”

Reviewed 7 Sep 2016

This house was perfect for what we wanted: a no-frills large space for 20+ people to have fun, be together, but have some privacy when they wanted to turn in. The 12 bedrooms were as advertised, with fresh linens and space for couples and singles to relax. The BBQ (charcoal) worked well and there were two fridges to store enough food for 20 people. We loved the deck, the big lawn, the basketball hoop, and the fire pit. Would 100 percent come back to this place if we were booking a large house for a big group.

“Perfect for a large family and friends gathering”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2013

We stayed there for 3 nights 4 days for our annual outing for a group of 12 friends and we had great time. The house is very spacious and location is very tranquil and rustic with a beautiful river view. The 2 living rooms and kitchen downstairs and the spacious deck are very nice. We enjoyed our stay and had great time.

“Perfect for our Occasion”

Reviewed 24 Feb 2013

We rented this home for a family reunion to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. We were 24 in all, adults and children, and we could have fit more comfortably. The place was immaculate and prepared for us exactly as we had discussed with the owner. As this is a kosher property, it was unbelievably convenient to have the necessary accommodations, not to mention the location served all our religious needs as well. I would definitely stay there again.

Owner's reply: Thanks Rebecca, The River House would be available any time for you and your family.

“Ecellent family adventure”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2012

We had our entire immediate family stay for three nights. The house was perfect, larger than we really needed. The deck was beautiful, very large and provided a beautiful view of the river. There was plenty of room on the grounds for lawn games and family football. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped. There were two refrigerators that was a very nice surprise! The town is very close by and very quaint for those who like to shop and explore. Great place for an extended family gathering, plenty of room to do your own thing and not feel like you were on top of each other. The owner is lovely and easy to deal with. The location is easy to get to. We had a wonderful time and will surely be back!

Owner's reply: Thanks Rosemarie, was a pleasure to talk to you on the phone and I am happy that the house can accomodate your large family comfortable .

“You Have Earned A Loyal Customer”

Virginia is not only the owner of a great, hugely accomodating house in a perfect "getaway" location, she is fair and lives up to her promises. We will be back again.

Owner's reply: Thanks Val for leaving the house very clean will be a pleasure having you next time at the house.

“Perfect property for large group of friends”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2012

Konstantin's property was the exact house my group of friends and I were looking for. We had a group of 19 and the house had ample room for everybody. Everyone had a bed and nobody was stuck sleeping on a couch or floor. Most people had queens for themselves so even with bigger groups sleeping arrangements shouldn't be an issue. The house itself was huge and even with everybody hanging out in the living room, it never felt crowded. The backyard has plenty of space to throw a frisbee, football, lay out in the sun, etc. There's an outlet outside so portable speakers are a great option while hanging out in the jacuzzi (which was of course a fantastic time as well). At night, laying out and looking at the stars is a breath-taking view and a nice change of pace from the city lights. The property is in a secluded area. It's a little over two hours from New York City and the house itself is far away from other houses, so our group of 24 year olds was able to have a good time without worrying about distracting neighbors. Any group wants privacy and this house was perfect for it. While there were a few very minor nuances (there was no light in the backyard that we found so the jacuzzi at night was in the dark) nothing was big enough to take away anything from the house. Overall it was a fantastic stay. For our group, 2 nights + food + drinks ended up being cheaper than a night in the city can run you. A great place to just get away with a group of friends for the weekend or come with family. It's probably even more beneficial in the winter with mountains nearby, but even in the summer it was well worth the money and time to drive up. On our last day, we talked about doing it again next year and would be more than happy to keep it going every year.

“Just as promised!!”

Fantastic experience - the house is just as advertised and we had a wonderful weekend. The river is exquisite, bring your pole! Thanks for such a perfect weekend!

Description was spot on. The view of the river is beautiful and the house is cozy. Seems like an old bed and breakfast with numbered bedrooms. We will definitely be returning! One thing to note is that the driveway is up a hill so if you are going in winter be sure that your car can make it up.
