“Family Getaway”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2016

Wanted to take the family away to the mountains and rivers of central VA and found this gem of a cottage. Sheri made sure to contact me frequently and even check in on us after a dramatic thunderstorm. Even in the rain this place was great - clean, scenic and great secluded property close to Route 29 for coming/going. We fished the heck out of the pond - recording largemouth bass, crappie and bluegill catches, while admiring the turtles, including a large snapping turtle. Startled some deer one morning, too... Kitchen was adequate for my family of 5 and the open floorplan meant we could be together most of the time we were indoors. That wasn't often, as we took advantage of the pool, frequently. Great rental experience - we'll be back!

“We Found a Hidden Treasure”

What a wonderful place to get way and enjoy family, friends and beautiful surroundings. We LOVED our stay and we will definitely be back. We loved the huge pool. What a treat for the hot summer days. Everything was simply great! The cottage had everything we needed and more. Wonderful experience working with Sheri. Our dogs were in heaven with all the open space. THANK YOU

Owner's reply: So glad you enjoyed your getaway. You are welcome back any time!

“Peaceful stay close to Ch'Ville”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2015

My husband, three daughters, dog and I spent 2 nights here. What a find! Beautiful views, and nice tidy cottage with everything we needed. Our girls loved the pool- a treat to come back up after long days sightseeing- and our dog loved the pond and trails! We didn't see a soul other than a friendly neighbor who happened to come by with his dog and give us some tips on what to see in the area. Great place!!!

“UVA GRADUATION WEEKEND”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2015

Our stay at Cabin Creekwood was perfect. We had 8 in our group and several family members came for dinner. The accomodations were more than adequate. The cabin was immaculate/clean. We would definately visit there again in the future.

“A little piece of heaven”

Reviewed 23 May 2015

This is the second time we have flown from Scotland to stay in this delightful cottage. The first time was in August 2011 when we delivered our daughter to UVA where she was to be a student for 4 years. This time was to attend her graduation. We loved the entire experience. The house is comfortable and spacious, the pool an absolute delight and the location pure bliss. Cannot recommend this property highly enough. It's one of Charlottesville's best kept secrets. We hope to return one day.

“What a nice get-away!”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2014

Beautiful views! We enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal here with our dogs and all had a very nice time. We enjoyed walking the property. Well stocked linens and kitchen supplies. My only recommendation is for the ktichen cabinets to have a spring cleaning. Definitely plan on returning!

“Peaceful stay”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2014

We just spent three days at this cottage. The scenery was beautiful and so restful. The cottage had everything we needed. Previous reviews stated the couch was an issue but that has been solved with a comfortable new sofa and loveseat. Suggest that it would be helpful to leave written instructions on operating the TV. We found it to be challenging. Definitely plan to come again.

“Beautiful sunsets”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2014

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful. The property is breath-taking and the cottage is comfortable and set up with everything you need. The couch has been replaced so if you read complaints about the furniture disregard them ... everything is quite nice! It is hard to believe that such a serene property can be so close to all the "modern conveniences."

Owner's reply: Glad you liked it Julee. I hope you had a great "girls" time. Yes, we are working on remolding other rooms as well, we started with the living room and I love the seating. Thanks for the review. :-) Joey

“Great place to relax”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2013

We had a wonderful time! While we were at the cottage, we were absolutely undisturbed. We had time to walk around the grounds, swim, and enjoy family! We were within driving distance from Charlottesville and from Shenandoah National Park. Easy distance from grocery and cottage was well equipped for what we needed.

“Beautiful get away spot”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2013

We were thrilled to find a place where our dogs could stay with us! That was definitely the deciding factor on us choosing this location. Once we arrived, we were amazed by the beautiful view. Everything we needed was there for us including linens and towels. It was a welcoming situation, all the way around. Very nice to be near Charlottesville but also far enough from town to enjoy the rural feel of this location. We found it very relaxing and can't wait to return!

Owner's reply: So glad you enjoyed yourself and very happy the dogs were able to join you.
