About the area

Our resort is on the quiet, rural, west end Curacao, near the small fishing village of Westpunt. We are on the leeward shore with consistent sea breezes, but we enjoy the calmest, clearest waters on the island, and a very close in, very long reef paralleling the coast for miles.

After reviewing countless properties on Curaçao we found this jewel of a place on the northern end of the island. The reviews were so good that we decided to see for ourselves. Located feet from the water on what we felt was the nicest location on the island. With our car rental with GPS we saw most of this island and soon realized that this location could not be beat. With numerous fantastic beaches within minutes and a truely exceptional access to the water at their location via two sets of stairs on each end of the property, one can experience exceptional snorkeling steps from your accommodations in some of the prettiest water I have ever seen. A couple of times when we were scouting or eating at a restaurant in or near the capital,we couldn't wait to get back to where we were staying. A testament to the beauty of this location were tour buses that took people staying elsewhere to the nearby beaches from where we stayed. Also,I noticed several dive boats anchored close to shore . The accommodations were more than we expected. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners,Steve and Linda who were very helpful and were a wealth of information about the entire island. In the future,I would stay nowhere else on the island. This is not for people who rely on all inclusive resorts. Eating out at the numerous restaurants in the area,or picking up fresh fish from the local fishermen and cooking it at the residence was an unparalleled path to variety with little effort. You almost can't go wrong!

“Perfect getaway”

Steve and Linda Pitt's condo was supplied with everything we could need. The grounds were well maintained and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed waking up each morning to a beautiful view of the sea from the master bedroom. We had our choice of the lanai or the 2nd story deck for a leisurely breakfast each morning. There are 2 places at the resort where we could go down to the sea for snorkeling or scuba diving. Plus there are 2 beaches close by for snorkeling and diving also. Late in the afternoon we enjoyed great sunsets followed by a relaxing dinner. The condo provided the right blend of a beautiful getaway without missing any of the amenities of home.

“Wonderful Vacation!”

My husband and I spent 2 wonderful weeks in Unit 7A at Marazul Dive Resort. We quickly settled into our vacation home which was located in a well maintained, beautifully landscaped gated community. Rene, the property manager, was very attentive, checking every morning to make sure that there wasn't anything that we needed. The unit was very clean and contained everything that we needed for a great stay. Linda, the owner, sent us a detailed information package before our trip which helped us locate grocery stores, restaurants and various beaches and points of interest. Marazul Dive Resort is very close to numerous restaurants and beaches and an easy drive to Willemstad. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a quiet, restful vacation home on a beautiful island.

“Truly enjoyable stay!”

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Pitt’s condo in Marazul, Westpunt, Curacao. The owners have made sure that the accommodations are very comfortable and well equipped. We found everything we needed and more! It was great being able to barbecue and cook our own meals. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The resort itself is located right by a great snorkelling area where we saw many types of fish. The cooling winds are fantastic as well as the beautiful sunsets. We had fun exploring the island and enjoying Sunshine’s Sol Food Restaurant. We highly recommend this accommodation.

“A marvellous winter escape”

We returned last month from a wonderful few weeks spent in Steve and Linda's townhouse, in Marazul Dive Resort. I awakened every morning to the song of the Venezuelan Troupial and opened my eyes to look straight out over the sea and watch the fishing boats going out for the day. Paradise indeed! If you are looking for nightlife, shopping, activities for the kids, etc. stay in,or near, Willemstad. But if you want peace and quiet, a sleepy fishing village (with several restaurants in it) and fantastic diving and snorkelling right there, as well as many beaches close by to choose from, go to Westpunt. And Marazul is the place to stay....a very well kept, attractively landscaped, friendly, safe, gated community of privately owned homes, right on a cliff overlooking the ocean, with steps down to the sea so you are in the water two minutes after leaving your front door. If you want fresh water for a change there is a lovely pool too with plenty of chairs to lounge on and a large gazebo for shade. The friendly manager, Ren?, comes by your house every morning to make sure everything is OK and is always available for help, advice and directions to wherever you would like to go. We have stayed at Steve and Linda's place five times now. It has a very good location within Marazul - close to, but not right next to, the pool; in the centre of the property so far from any barking local dogs and, as mentioned, right on the ocean front with a view of the sea from every room.( OK, except the downstairs bathroom!). After many trips to nice, but poorly equipped, properties we were delighted to find a place that has everything we could possibly need. All windows and doors have screens to keep out the occasional pesky mosquito (it's a very windy area so mosquitoes are not a big problem) Both showers and the kitchen sink have hot water which is unusual and very nice to have. The kitchen is very well equipped and as a plus, the knives are sharp and there is a set of spices too! There is even a large cooler for your grocery trips to Willemstad - or to take to the beach if you want a picnic lunch. There are also collapsible chairs to take to the beaches and the upstairs terrace has two Adirondack chairs perfect for reading in. The house is attractive, colourful and comfortable. The best of all, for me, is the memory-foam covered king sized bed which is as comfortable as our one at home and how often can you say that?!! (The downstairs futon makes a comfortable bed too) St

I don't do "reviews". I just don't. But after staying at Steve and Linda's oceanfront condo I couldn't not. I just had to. My wife and I celebrated our 36th anniversary on Cura?ao. What made it perfect for us was finding Steve and Linda's resort on the western end of the island. Condo 7A is clean, comfortable, and convenient to all things scenic and adventuresome. Swimming, snorkeling, diving, and great beaches are all within minutes of 7A. Some literally within a 60 second walk. Others within a 5-7 minute drive. You can venture farther, which we did and will on our return trips, but there is little need to. Pick up your groceries on your drive from the airport to the resort and plan to relax on their terrace or lower patio between adventures. Everything about your place was perfect. Thank you Steve and Linda.

This was our second trip to Marazul, and an even better experience this time staying in Apartment 8A! We love the location, off the beaten track and away from the big city. Quiet, a great place to relax and dive. Steve and Linda have done a wonderful job, everything you need is there. If you are lucky enough to be there when they are, you will discover they are very gracious hosts and will make sure you have everything you need. They will send you packets of info with everything you need to know about the island, car rentals, where the best grocery stores are, etc. We've found their info is spot on, no problems. The car rental service was great, it was so nice to have the cell phone when we needed to check in at home. We would advise getting the GPS if it is your first time on the island. The Manager, Renee, was also very nice, checked in with us almost every day to see how our stay was. The condo is beautiful, very comfortable, can't beat the view of a sunset every night off your patio. With a nice tropical breeze, we didn't even need the AC, just the fans were enough to keep us comfortable. Wifi worked great. There was a nice big screen TV with Direct TV, but you'd have to ask my husband how it was, I was too busy watching the view! The grill was an added bonus, so nice to be able to cook out while enjoying the sunset. The diving is great, you can gear up right at the condo and walk to the steps, the ocean is right there. Amazing coral, huge schools of fish, turtles, many eels. Never a bad dive. Saw something new each dive. We enjoyed finishing our dives near the ladder, so much to see on the way out! Dunk tank right by the pool to soak your gear when you are done, as well as shower. Pool is gorgeous, very clean, lots of lounge chairs, shade if you prefer. Oceans West for diving is just a 5 minute drive for tanks/weights and also a beautiful reef to dive, and a restaurant for a cold drink or meal after. Marazul is minutes from many white sand beaches with good snorkeling and diving. Fun places to eat with great food. We went mostly for the diving, but did spend some time at Shete Boka National Park. Beautiful view of the other side of the island and the big waves crashing into the cliffs. We had a great time, and look forward to returning, hopefully very soon! Thanks Steve and Linda for making this a wonderful trip!

We got lucky when we rented this townhouse at Marazul. The location within the resort couldn't be better and the owners have done everything possible to make this unit welcoming and comfortable for renters. Thanks!
