About the area

Home is located on a quiet side street at Kinney Shores and is a short walk to the beautiful beach at the end of the street. About 2 miles from the famous pier in Old Orchard. Also 2 miles from Camp Ellis where they rent jet skis, para gliding, have deep sea fishing vessels, etc. Amtrak runs trains from Boston to Portland daily with stops in Saco year round and in Old Orchard during summer season. Saco is adjacent to Old Orchard to the south. Scarborough (Pine Point) is to the north, adjacent to Old Orchard Beach. Saco & Old Orchard exits are #36 on the Maine Turnpike and are half way between Kittery & Freeport for outlet shopping; 20 minutes to South Portland to a major mall and 20 minutes to Portland. There are also many shops along Rte. 1 for antique stuff between Wells & Scarborough. The Old Port in Portland is at the waterfront with shops, 25 minute ride. “Great location but cluttered.”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2014

This cottage was in the perfect location and was the perfect size for our family of 4. The only negatives were that the house was quite full of the owners belongings leaving us with little room for food and personal items. The other issue was that the back bedroom was cold and had an oder of some sort of animal. I would suggest to the owner to remove some unecessary items to free up some space for guests and add a mixing valve to regulate the temperature of the water as it got scalding hot.

Owner's reply: Renter did not call me about the hot water or would have had a plumber take care of it. This is a cottage and Jill's week was chillier than normal for August some days. Not sure what odor was as no pets are here.

“Paradis”

Great cottage. Ideal location that is close to the beach and away from the noise. Truly a home away from home.

Owner's reply: It is an ideal location. Mike drove a long way to visit our beautiful State and had a nice vacation, in spite of his long drive. Faye Casey, Rental Agent.

“Excellent family vacation house”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2013

The house had all we needed, the only minus is the dirty carpet but the kids did not care, so we overlooked it. Everyone enjoyed their vacation. Close to the beach, close to the attractions, wifi , air conditionning, and dishwasher, plus washer & dryer. All was there. We will certainly return

Owner's reply: I can't imagine why the carpet was dirty. Not sure which one she's referring to. Unfortunately I cannot contact her as the house was rented under a different name and I don't know which week she was there or whose name it was rented under to call her and ask.
