About the area

Saco, ME is 3 miles south of Old Orchard Beach and part of Maine's largest sandy beach, from Camp Ellis to Pine Point in Scarborough, 7 miles long. The Ferry Beach Saco area is a quiet, quaint area unspoiled with high rises in either Ferry Beach or Camp Ellis. All cottages are at least a 1-3 minute walk to the beach or less here at Saco Bay. Camp Ellis which is close by is part of Saco located where the Saco River joins the ocean at Saco Bay. You can bike or walk to 2 nearby restaurants and our quaint fishing harbor in Camp Ellis, Ferry Beach State Park and more! There’s fishing here right off the beach, at the end of Sunset Ave. or at the mile-long Jetty in Camp Ellis. We're about a 10-minute drive to Funtown and the Aquaboggin, both on Rte. 1 in Saco and 3 miles to OOB for shops & amusements. A convenience store, 2 restaurants, a bait & tackle shop and the main fishing pier are all within walking distance. Deep sea fishing boats and whale watching boats leave the docks in Camp Ellis. Kayak rentals not far away. Ferry Beach State Park is close by which offers several paths for walking. There is a bike path from this area to the Old Orchard line. Saco is a great central location and a community which caters to families, unspoiled by high rises. Biddeford-Saco Golf Club is about 3 miles up the Ferry Rd. Saco and Old Orchard have amusement parks which are open seasonally. The Saco exit is #36 on the Maine Turnpike and we're are half way between Kittery & Freeport for outlet shopping; 20 minutes to South Portland to a major mall and 20 minutes to Portland. There are also many shops along Rte. 1 for antique stuff between Wells & Scarborough. The Old Port is at the waterfront with shops. We’re about 1-1/2 hours or so from the Boston area

Our family of 13 spent a wonderful week in this home. The house is well cared for and we were very comfortable. The yard was awesome; we spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the swing and the fire pit in the evenings. An outdoor shower would have made the place perfect. The guys would have liked more channels on the TV to catch the games -- but that was not an issue for the gals.

Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed our home. Hope to see you next summer also. Faye

“Wonderful Family Friendly Rental!”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2015

My family did a extended family vacation of sorts with 3 generations together at this house. The location is perfect for families with small children. Safe area, not a lot of traffic, mostly quiet(with the exception of the occasional motorcycles). You are a corner house, but it's not nearly as busy as you may expect. I loved the family feel to the neighborhood, but also being less than 15 min away from the more active Old Orchard Beach environment. Local seafood place, Huots was fresh and delicious and close enough to walk to. The beach was only a few minute walk down the street and then another few minutes down the rock wall to access the sandy part. And the beach was amazing. Never crazy crowded, really family oriented, clean and friendly. We sometimes left our stuff, walked back to the rental house and returned later...with NO problems. The house was great... clean, nicely decorated and furnished. The beds are comfortable, there's fans in every room, and though the steps to the second floor are steep, they have a good railing. My family loves to cook, and the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. There was not one tool we needed and looked for that we couldn't find, including pretty good knives. The living room is huge with tons of windows. We spent almost no time in there because the weather was so nice outside...but it is a great room to gather a large crowd together. The patio/deck is a good size with a nice table/chairs and grill. It's quiet to sit there in the morning with coffee and enjoy the peace. The yard while small, has what you need. A fire pit for smores, a great heavy duty, wooden tree swing, enough lawn to throw a ball around or set up a kiddie pool. The parking was great too. You can fit several cars in the driveway, and a couple along the street if you have visitors. The only outdoor shower, and the trash (which seems unavoidable). It's picked up on Monday's and your rental starts Friday. So there will be a good bit of it from the previous tenants, especially given the size of the house. I found we could have used another barrel. Overall, I highly recommend this house. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return again if we can coordinate everyone's schedules again!

Owner's reply: I'm glad Aimee enjoyed her stay at Uno Tramento. It is a nice house. The yard is actually larger than others in this area. Hope to see Aimee next summer also. Faye Casey, Rental Agent - Saco Bay Rentals
