Great Stay at the Chalet
April 6, 2012
Our reunion after thirty years was a success at The Chalet on Lake Dunlap #180918. The place was clean and spacious overlooking the Guadalupe River. It was centrally located to a variety of parks, towns, and getaways. Linens, washer and dryer, kitchen utensils, dining and cutlery were provided and a minimal cleaning fee applied. We came from Minnesota, California, Georgia, Canyon Lake and Pearland, Texas and we all agreed the accomodations and location of the Chalet were outstanding and suited all our wonts and needs. I personally informed all that I would like to hold future reunions at the Chalet on Lake Dunlap. And I strongly recommend it for large family gatherings with its great accomodations and proximity to parks, waterways, antique shops, fishing, hiking...etc. There is something for everyone here. I will always cherish my stay there and hope to return in the future. I thank you for Shoemaker, Fred, Gannod, Rock, Wade, Tammy and Marty. Great place,,, we love it!

Great place to get away from it all. Out in the country at a private ranch. The Starview Lodge has pool and WIFI, plus hot tub. Everyone was very helpful,,,,, rated AAA+
Dan and I are glad that you all had a good time. We hope you had a chance to use the sauna and handfeed our "pet" Longhorns. We have tried to include everything to make your stay comfortable ( guest robes, the welcoming fruit basket, cookies and even the bottle of complimentary wine).
We hope you will all think of us - either at Canyon Lake Ranch or at our San Antonio bed and breakfast, Alamo Street Victorian Inn, for more relaxing getaways.
The best from all of us at Canyon Lake Ranch,
Total relaxation at Starview Lodge
May 10, 2010
We enjoyed our stay at Canyon Lake enormously this Spring. The Starview Lodge has so much character and a lovely pool and hot tub overlooking the ranch land. Feeding the Long Horns was a real experience, they are such gentle creatures. We spent our 3 nights cooking bbq, sitting out on the pretty patio by the pool and looking at the stars. The ranch is well situated in the heart of Hill Country too with lots of places to visit. Thanks to Robbi and Dan for sharing your wonderful home. We would definitely return to Canyon Lake Ranch and recommend it as a total back to nature retreat.

Beautiful ranch home with great hospitality! We arrived at night and lights were on with cookies on the table, wine in a bucket and fresh fruit on the counter. My family had a wonderful time exploring the ranch and feeding the longhorns.

Quiet & Relaxing in the Texas Hill Country
March 16, 2009
We took our teenagers for a Spring Break get-away and loved the property. We walked the ranch, fed the longhorn cattle, played board games, and read books by the pool. We took short drives to Wimberley and Canyon Lake for fun day trips. The house is lovely and the Boone's are wonderful hosts!

...The only thing we had need of during our stay was the time to stay another day.
...a visit filled with beautiful weather and scenery that has left us feeling relaxed and serene. The hot tub under the stars was fantastic...our own little corner of paradise. The atmosphere of the accommodations (Starview Lodge) was great and the wine and cake were unexpected additions that boosted our contentment...

The quiet surroundings of your cozy guest house gave us a wonderful rest. The beautiful view overlooking the pool and seeing longhorns rambling in their corral treated us to a taste of Texas we will fondly remember. This is truly a lovely spot.

...The wonderful hospitality will never be forgotten. Every comfort of home was provided, for which we thank you from the heart. I got to feed cookies to the BIG DUDE bull (steer) without even a nip on the finger, and the pretty little heifer! They are marvelous! ...a respite from the cares of the world....

...Beautiful, glowing sunrises, sunsets that set the sky on fire, even a beautiful thunderstorm added to the wonder of this visit. We saw deer and a flock of wild turkeys on parade. Of course we got to know your gentle friendly longhorns. Thanks for being such a welcoming host and hostess. It was a joy to get to know you!

We especially enjoyed soaking in the hot tub, gazing at the stars, climbing that grand Oak tree and hearing the stories about Spencer (Longhorn). The homemade goodies were such a welcoming touch . . .
